The Edmonson County Kentucky native was a son of the late William Guy Harper and Delphia Opal Poteet Harper.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Veronica Lynn Gregory and granddaughter, Jessica Marie Gregory.  Frank attended the Smiths Grove Methodist Church and retired from the U S Navy.
His survivors include his wife, Marion Harper. Two brothers, Mike Harper and Norman Harper; three sisters, Elizabeth Swanner, Joyce Smith and Lind Gail Harper; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Grove Chapel with burial in Smiths Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-6pm  Wednesday and 11am -12 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: On Saturday, April 16, 2022, God called Pastor Jimmy Ray Williams home and he heard the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” He’s home! Pastor Jimmy was married to Joan Simmons Williams for 50+ years and is the father of son, Shannon Williams (Sharon), and daughter, Tonya Bartlett (John), and papa to five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also a brother, uncle, pastor, and friend.
Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Curtis & Lorene Williams, Jimmy was one of nine children.  He attended Tennessee Temple University and served for 39 years as a pastor in three different churches in Tennessee and Alabama and youth pastor for ten years in Kentucky. Pastor Jimmy also served and ministered in the prison ministry for 25 years. On five different trips, Jimmy & Joan had the opportunity of ministering and teaching on the mission fields in Costa Rica and Guatemala. Jimmy loved God, people, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family.
Pastor Jimmy has been an encourager, minister, mentor, and friend.  A graveside service will be held to celebrate his homegoing on Wednesday, April 20 at 1:00 PM CST at the Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church, Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Local arrangements by Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.

The Warren County native was a son of the late Clyde Bolton Miller and Mary Ida Naves Miller.  He was the husband of the late Emma Sue Miller and is preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Diane Hall, son-in-law, Barry Hall,  and granddaughter, Tabitha Neighbors and her husband Joseph Neighbors. Carl was a business owner. He was a member of Meadowland Baptist Church.  Carl proudly service his country in the US Army.
His survivors include three sons, Harold Miller (Vanessa), Eddie Miller (Virginia) and Timmy Miller (Nancy); eight grandchildren, Brandon Hall (Brandie), Heather Miller (Tyler), Jeremy Miller, Melinda Taylor (Mike), Kevin Whitaker, Jeff Whitaker and David Miller (Whitney) ; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Gail Rodgers and Janice Johnson (David); several nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Tammy Dunn Johnson Long, age 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky after an extended illness.  She was a longtime resident of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Tammy was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 16, 1962 to Eva Donald Dunn Ferriell and the late Ronald Gregory Dunn.  In addition to her father, preceding her in death are her former husband, William Leslie Johnson; her maternal and paternal grandparents; several uncles; her stepmother, Robin Dunn; her two fathers-in-law, Junior Johnson and Donald Long; and two brothers-in-law, Kevin Johnson and Raymond Johnson.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Daymond Long; her sons Darren Johnson (Lauren) and Travis Johnson (Brittany); her grandson, Jakxon; her stepfather, Robert Ferriell; her sister, Ashley Dunn and Ashley's daughter, Brielle, who was like a granddaughter to Tammy; her brothers, Ronald Gregory Dunn, Jr. (Ada), Joshua Dunn and Caleb Dunn; her mothers-in-law, Frances Johnson and Helen Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
Tammy was a member of Meadow Land Baptist Church in Bowling Green, where she volunteered every chance she got. Known for being a hard worker, Tammy was last a manage at Buffalo Wild Wings until her health began to fail.  Tammy absolutely loved anything to do with water, including fishing, swimming in her pool and basking in the sun on the beach.  She also enjoyed family gatherings and was know for her cooking, dancing, and decorating skills.  Tammy had a great sense of humor and was the life of any party.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at Meadow Land Baptist Church, 1188 Detour Rd., Bowling Green.  Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church.  Pastor Adam Trent will preside.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.

Obituary Preview: Helen Marie Smith Thomas, 94, of Smiths Grove, died 6:13 a.m. on April 9, 2022 at her home.  She was known as “Mema” to many, was a great cook, and had a love for fashion and jewelry.  She was a kind-hearted, gentle-spirited woman with a strong faith, a joy for life, and a devoted love for her family, especially her late husband, James.
She was born on February 26, 1928 in Villa Grove, Illinois.  She grew up in Fountain Run, Kentucky and graduated from Fountain Run High School before moving to Smiths Grove. She married James L Thomas on December 11, 1947 and was married 62 years before his passing on March 26, 2010.  She loved her church family and was the oldest member of Smiths Grove Church of Christ, where she attended for over 70 years.  She was the daughter of the late Clarence Smith and the late Delilah Mae Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Watts; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Craig and Genera Thomas; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bronvil and Alice Smith and Clarence “Buster” and Carol Smith; her sister-in-law, Dean Smith; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Okla and Jimmy Hagan, LoEva and Fay Martin, and Wanda and Jimmy Jackson; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hansel and Eunice Thomas and Ray and Martha English.
Survivors include her son, Roger Thomas and his wife, Doris, of Smiths Grove, her daughter, Peggy Gorrell and her husband, Mickey, of Auburn, her grandchildren, Kim Thomas of Bowling Green, Kathryn Thomas of Glasgow, Dr. Roger Thomas and his wife, Deidre, of Smiths Grove, Joseph Thomas and his wife, Jessica, of Bowling Green, and Lee Michael Gorrell of Auburn; her great-grandchildren, Avrie Thomas, Olivia Thomas, Carson Thomas and Roman Thomas; her brother, Henry Smith, of Brentwood, Tennessee; her sister, Imogene Norris, and her husband, Bruce, of Portland, Tennessee;  and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family is especially grateful to Teresa Chism for the wonderful care and unconditional love she provided the past 14 months.
Funeral service celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Louisville Road Chapel, in Bowling Green.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at  Smiths Grove Cemetery.

He is also survived by his adopted granddaughters, Miranda Price and Myra ((Adam) Sliger. Born and raised in Chicago, after graduating from Lane Tech High School, Mel apprenticed as a Tool and Die maker and made that his career until retiring in 2003. After moving to Bowling Green, he worked part-time as an apartment complex maintenance supervisor. Mel has three adult children and four adult grandchildren by his previous wife. Arrangements provided by Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Cremation was chosen, with a memorial to be held at a later date.

The Russellville, KY native was a retired accountant at The Medical Center of Bowling Green, a self-taught artist, and a past member of the Assembly of God Church in Louisville.  She was the daughter of the late Henry Bryan Chaney and Ella Bernice Chaney.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry B. Burchett and Joseph B. Burchett, a brother Robert B. Chaney and her late husband Homer Stewart.
Surviving are her two daughters, Javonni Burchett and Jana Curtis Lee; four grandsons, Landon R. Burchett, S. Zain Curtis, Gage Lee and Jason Parker, as well as two nephews, Matthew Bryan Chaney and Brandon Chaney.
Her service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 23 in conjunction with her son's service who passed shortly before his mother.  The service will be held at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.  Visitation will be Friday April 22 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10a.m.-12 p.m. Cremation was chosen with a private ceremony to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville.  It was Carol's wish in lieu of flowers that donations be made to her grandson's medical expense who was in a horrific car accident in December.

Obituary Preview: Allan Ray Wolfe of Bowling Green passed away on March 22, 2022, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.  Allan was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Cowan Wolfe and was born in Russellville, Ky.    Allan spent his working hours as a store clerk and cashier.
Leaving to cherish his memory are three sisters:  Carolyn Cauley, Christy Patterson and Tiffany White.  He was blessed with several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.  His devoted friend was Catherine Kennedy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Hardy & Son Funeral Homes, Bowling Green Chapel.  Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a service to be held at 12:00 p.m.

John Payne - Unknown - March 13, 2022

Obituary Preview: Pursuing life with passion, John Payne (85) focused on living life to its fullest, loving with a full heart and chasing his dreams wherever they might lead.
Those dreams eventually led him to Bowling Green Combining his hobby of photography with a magical property on Woodford Avenue he operated Limestone Lake Photography from 1992 until his illness interfered. He eventually succumbed to that illness on March 13, 2022 at the Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents John B. and Mayme (Gregory) Payne and his sisters Susan Dalton and Betty Bisbee Born in Berea, Ky. John grew up in the community of Disputana fishing, hunting and swimming in the creek. After graduating from Mt. Vernon High School, he briefly attended Berea College before transferring to EKU where he excelled as a member of the swim team, setting a pool record in 1958. Upon graduation with an elementary education degree, he taught fifth and sixth grade in Hamilton, Ohio. There, he also had success in the American Flat Track Motorcycle racing circuit and served as a sergeant in the Army National Guard.
Eventually, he received a master's degree in counseling at Miami of Ohio and earned school psychologist certification at Ohio State University. After 22 years as a school psychologist, he retired and returned to Kentucky to chase the dream of professional photography and to be closer to his children, Jon Payne (Jodi) and Jena Turk (Geoff) who both survive. John is also survived by two step-children, Jason Brooks (Angela) and Sheri Akins (Brad), and
10 grandchildren as well as his wife Sheryl. Together they enjoyed lake sunsets, capturing families' memories through photography, and competing as members of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. John was twice ranked as an All-American, shooting a perfect 200 at The Grand American in 2006. While he appreciated the success, he would quickly say he enjoyed the friendships made even more.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Arrangements by Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the John B. Payne Scholarship Fund at Independence Bank.

Jessie Lois Hines - Unknown - March 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Everyone, at least once in a lifetime, ponders the question: How will I be remembered? Jessie Lois Hines, who died peacefully on March 10, 2022 at the age of 90, will most likely be remembered simply as someone who was always kind.  Jessie was a woman who kept her word, loved her family, and honored her Savior.
As a long-time member of the Mt. Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church, she was active in women’s groups, taught Sunday School and VBS, and enjoyed churchwide fellowships.
Jessie’s family was also at the center of her world.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Leatha (Green) Justice and three siblings (James Justice, Dorothy Bumpus and Raymond Justice) as well as her husband William Leon Hines and her son Terry Alan Hines.
She is survived by her daughter Sheryl Brooks Payne, daughter-in-law Denita Hines and three grandchildren, Jason Brooks (Angela); Sheri Akins (Brad); Stuart Hines (Amanda); and eleven great-grandchildren who could always count on Nanny to share a big hug, a sweet treat or a goofy Snapchat opp.
A 1949 honor graduate of Bowling Green High School, Jessie’s first job was as a “soda jerk” at Bartel-Williams Drugstore downtown Bowling Green.  She then worked in retail and secretarial jobs until after her children were born.  When they became school age, she re-entered the workforce as a bookkeeper at Bristow Consolidated School and later Warren East High School where she retired in 1991 after 23 years of service in the Warren County School System.
Funeral arrangements are being overseen by Hardy & Son Funeral Chapel on Louisville Road March 19. Informal visitation (1-3 p.m.) will be followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m.

The Louisville native was a son of the late Jerry M. Burchett and Carol J. Stewart.  He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry B. Burchett.  Joe attended Bowling Green High School, class of 1979 and served in the United States Army.
Surviving are his son, Landon R. Burchett of Lexington; two sisters, Javoni Burchett and Jana Curtis Lee both of Bowling Green and his first wife, Toni Rea Burchett of Richmond, KY.
His service will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 12 p.m. in conjunction with his mother’s service who passed shortly thereafter.  Both will be held at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. Visitation will be on Friday, April 22 from 5-8 p.m. and again on Saturday, 10 a.m.-12p.m.  Cremation was chosen with a private ceremony to follow at his childhood park, George Rogers Park in Louisville.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation’s to the 13th Street Club House or the NAMI Foundation.  Donation envelopes will be on hand at the funeral home.
