Debra Ann Burnham - July 21, 1954 - July 03, 2023

Departed: 07/03/2023 (Hanover)
Obituary Preview: Debra Ann Burnham, a loving mother, devoted wife, and enthusiastic encourager, transitioned to Heaven on July 3, 2023, at her home in Hanover, MI, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on July 21, 1954, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Debra brought joy and a childlike spirit to everyone she encountered.
Debra was the beloved wife of Allen Burnham for an incredible 44 years. After being led together by God, they married five days after meeting. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and unwavering support. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with adventure, laughter, and cherished memories. They embarked on countless camping trips, finding solace in the great outdoors, and Debra's love for whimsy and cute things always brought an extra touch of joy to their experiences. Debra's face would light up with excitement whenever they planned a trip to Disney World, a place she held dear to her heart.
As a mother, Debra was a source of encouragement to her two daughters, Pamela and Sheri. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing them, instilling in them values of compassion, kindness, and generosity. Debra's love for her family knew no bounds, and her unwavering support provided a strong foundation for her daughters to grow into remarkable individuals.
Debra had a deep faith in Jesus that anchored her throughout her life. She found solace and strength in her spiritual journey, and her devotion to her faith was evident in her actions and interactions with others. One of her most cherished ministries was writing encouragement cards, which she sent daily to her loved ones. Her uplifting and humorous messages touched the hearts of many and brought comfort and inspiration to those who received them.
An avid reader from a young age, Debra's love for books never waned. The Hanover Branch Library held a special place in her heart, and she was its most faithful patron. Her love for reading extended to various genres, but she had a particular fondness for children's books. Through the pages of these stories, she found joy and nurtured her own childlike wonder.
Debra's adventurous spirit led her to serve as an officer at Langley Air Force Base, where both of her children were born. She served her country with pride and honor as a veteran, a role she cherished deeply.
Debra Ann Burnham leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and genuine care for others. Her infectious lightheartedness, zest for life, and unwavering positivity will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be held dear in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
Debra is survived by her loving husband Allen, her daughters Pamela and Sheri, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who were touched by her remarkable spirit. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the joy she brought to the world.
In honor of Debra's memory, her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to either the Hanover Branch of the Jackson District Library or the Beacon Church, the two places she loved the most. The Beacon Church has an online donation page - https://www.mybeaconchurch.org/give. Checks can be mailed to the library at 118 W. Main St. Hanover, MI 49241, please note that the donation is in honor of Debra Burnham. View their website here: https://myjdl.com/locations/hanover-branch.
