Jeffrey Leduc - May 22, 1960 - November 20, 2023

Departed: 11/20/2023 (Mooers)
Obituary Preview: Jeffrey A. Leduc, 63, of Woods Falls Road, Mooers Forks, passed away on Monday November 20th, 2023 at the UVM Health Network - CVPH, with his children by his side.
Jeff was born in Plattsburgh on May 22nd 1960 to the late Joseph and Betty (Wells) Leduc.
Alongside his parents and siblings, Jeff grew up a farmer in Champlain until he became an apprentice for Francis Menard at Menard Sheet Metal. At the age of 26 he bought and owned the business we know today as Mooers Forks Sheet Metal. He was a generous, hard working man, who would do anything for anyone when he could. He loved NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, Boston Red Sox, and Donald Trump. When Jeff wasn’t working, which was a rarity; he enjoyed spending time at hunting camp with his friends and wearing his steel toed boots on the golf greens. You could often see him with a half lit cigar hanging off his lips and proudly wearing a hand me down flannel he got for free, with the sleeves cut off of course.
Three very blessed and lucky children are proud to carry on his memory, Cole (Chelsea) Leduc, Courtney (Al) Lehoisky, and Hunter (“Rob” ) Hughes. Even luckier, and probably the brightest glimmer in his eyes you’d see, are his five grandchildren, Ethan “Cartmen”, Case, Lena, Lyla, and his buddy Atlas. Also lucky enough to carry on his memory are his 6 brothers and sisters, Nelson, Billy, Ann, Connie, Tommy and Danny; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who Jeff loved and treated as his own.
Jeff was predeceased by both his father and mother, Joseph and Betty Leduc.
Honoring his wishes there will be no public calling hours or services, but a celebration of life will be held on December 15th 2023 at 5pm in The White Room of the Rainbow Banquet Hall in Altona, New York.
Jeff’s children would like to thank the amazing love and support he received in his last month’s here. His sister, Connie, who got him to and from appointments when needed, Sunday dinners and check ins, Steve Pratt who also provided rides, support, and home cooked breakfast each morning; Debbie, who provided health care and support, even during difficult times herself; Donna who kept the man cave clean and stocked; Larry and Nancy, Brooke and Jerry, Matt and Jody, Alex, Albert and the uncountable number of people who checked in daily to ensure he was safe and his needs were met; as well as Amanda and John Menard of Menard Construction for the roof, window and door repairs.
In Lieu of flowers, please consider supporting your favorite local sports team (Let’s go Mettowee Valley Mudcats!) or helping someone when you can; donate to your favorite charity, share a good laugh, give out the best nicknames, and live your life to the fullest.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers, 236-4747.
