Obituary Preview: Mr. Guerry Scott Fleming, 84, of Mitchell County, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in the Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Joseph W. Jones will officiate, and the family will visit with friends following the service at the cemetery.
Born on July 2, 1939, in Thomasville, Mr. Fleming was the son of the late Harvey and Vera Fleming. He worked for many years as a payroll master, loved fishing and planting a garden each year. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mattie Jo Frazier Fleming.
Survivors include his children, Cary Scott Fleming, Gary Scott Fleming, Drake Allen Fleming, and Lee Fraizer Fleming and Linda all of Mitchell County; two sisters, Mary Alice, and Becky; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Annie Pearl Tillery, 88, of Sylvester, passed away on Friday morning May 3, 2024.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in the Riverside Cemetery with her nephew, Rev. Roger Tillery officiating.
Born on December 22, 1935, Mrs. Tillery was the daughter of the late Herman and Fannie Cleg Roberts. She worked at Coats and Clark for many years. She was most proud of being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, Facebook, and watching the Hallmark channel. Mrs. Tillery was a member of Salem Baptist Church of Worth County and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tillery was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace Addison Tillery.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kay Fuller and Bobby of Hartselle, AL, Frances Peek and David of Albany, Ronald David Tillery and Deborah of Ft. Gaines, and Charles Anthony Tillery and Diane of Sylvester; 27 grandchildren; many great and great-greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann Parrish - October 13, 1968 - April 30, 2024

Obituary Preview: Patricia Ann Parrish, 55, of Albany, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Augusta University Hospital in Augusta.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral services. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
Patricia was born at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia, on October 13, 1968. She was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas "Tommy" and Bessie Jean Parrish.
In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her sisters Brenda Parrish and Laverne Forehand; her brothers Thomas Parrish, III and Ronald Parrish; and her beloved dog Baby Girl.
Patricia is survived by her sons, Michael Parrish (Nicole Hampton) of Albany, Georgia, and Christopher Parrish (Mariena Esposito) of Carson City, Nevada; her daughters, Whitney Hobby (Matt) of Ashburn, Georgia and Britney Lanier (Brian Reeves) of Metter, Georgia; her grandchildren Samantha and Kimberly Parrish, Maisie and Eason Hobby, and Greyson Reeves; as well as her long-term significant other, Raymond Dix, and beloved dog Savannah.
Patricia grew up in Albany, Georgia, but moved to Savannah, Georgia later in life and resided there at the time of her death. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply. Patricia was widely known as a lifelong avid Georgia Bulldog fan. She will affectionately be remembered by her friends and family for her outspoken personality and no-nonsense attitude. She was truly one-of-a-kind. Patricia will be missed dearly by those who loved her.

Services honoring his life will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with his son, Rev. John Price officiating. Military honors will also be presented, and the family will visit with friends following the service.
Born on October 7, 1945, in Alexandria, VA, Rev. Price was the son of the late Arthur and Ida Mae Price. He served his country in the United States Army and served the Lord for many years as a Pentecostal minister. He evangelized all over the United States as he shared the good news of Jesus Christ and saw many miracles throughout his years in ministry.  He also worked for several years in Mobile Home sales management. Most of all he loved The Lord, his family and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Price of Sylvester; children, Bill Price and Pam of Albany, Rev. John Price and Selina of Thomaston, Elizebeth Dawn Price of Panama City Beach, FL, Michael Price of Raleigh, NC, Melissa Vaglient and Eric of Sylvester, John Gary Price of Albany, Terry Price of Albany, and Brandon Anderson of Savannah; his sister, Melondy Gailey Lowry of Las Vegas NV; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Born on July 21, 1949, in Blakely, Mr. Cox was the son of the late James and Gussie Brookins Cox. He worked as a truck driver for several years in the heating and air business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Putney.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Cox (Diane), Charles Cox, and Larry Cox (Beverly); son-in-law, Christopher King; nephew, Eugene Cox; and special friend, Cathie Snelson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years Margo Cox; daughter, Kamara King of Leesburg; lifelong friend, Jasper Doswell; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Gordon and Rev. Rothell Wasson Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the church. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
Mr. Gable was born August 27, 1949. He was previously a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church where he and his wife attended for many years and currently a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Worth County. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his bicycle, recycling, taking evening walks, and watching old westerns and The Andy Griffith Show. Mr. Gable loved the lord and his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Aloma Gable who passed in 2010; his father, Leonard Q. Gable; and his sisters, Judy Gable Truluck and Glenda Gable Martin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brother-in-law, Eddie Truluck; family friends, Donna Sills and Rev. Buddy and Annette Wasson; special friend and caregiver, Alfreda McElroy; nieces, Kristi Truluck, Tonya Truluck Harper, Kelly Truluck Carter; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Pinebluff Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior from 10:00AM until 11:00AM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest beside his wife in Crown Hill Cemetery.
He was born February 7, 1929, in Simmesport, Louisiana to the late Willy B. and Mary Gilmore Hamlett. Mr. Hamlett proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps and retired after many faithful and honorable years. After retiring he worked for many years at Procter and Gamble. He was a longtime member of Pinebluff Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed working in his wood shop and made many beautiful petitions and shelves for his church and others. He loved the Lord and his family dearly. A beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather he will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Mary Joyce Hamlett; son, Donald Glen Hamlett; and grandson Jeff Grizzard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Shirley Joyce Grizzard; grandchildren, Tommy Grizzard, and Michael Gizzard; several great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Born on September 14, 1935, in Hemingway, S.C., Mary was the daughter of the late Albert and Kathryn Tilton. She was a loving and caring Homemaker and one of Jehovah’s Witnesses faithful members. She enjoyed gardening and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Calhoun Lee and her son, Melvin Travis Lee.

Born January 17, 1936, in Moultrie, GA, she was the daughter of the late Reed and Dot Mathews. She worked as a talented seamstress for many years until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Alchus was a doting mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Duane McCalvin and her sisters, Letha Brock, Virginia Croy, and Mavis Pope.

Born December 29, 1943, in Ty Ty, he was the son of the late Melvin and Nellie Ruth Allen. Mr. Allen proudly served our country in the United States Army and retired from Bellsouth Phone Company where he worked for 41 years. He loved the Lord dearly and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved family. He was patient, gentle, kind, and loved doing for others. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Allen.

Dr. William "Bill" Quincy Ward - March 17, 1924 - February 21, 2024

Obituary Preview: Dr. William “Bill” Quincy Ward passed away peacefully in his home at Danberry Inverness Feb. 21. in Birmingham, Ala., at the age of 99, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held March 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Albany, Georgia, for friends and family.
Dr. Ward is survived by his son, Robert Tyson Ward; his wife, Cathy Rodgers Ward; two daughters, Beth Ward Dillard and Patricia Anne Pace; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Brown of Belleair Beach, Fla., his son, Stephen Quincy Ward of Santa Monica, Calif. and his brother, Jack Ward, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla. William “Bill” was born March 17, 1924, in Albany, Georgia, to Viva Atwater and Joseph Quincy Ward.
He graduated from Albany High School and went on to attend Emory School of Medicine. He was board certified in internal medicine and later attended Johns Hopkins University to be board certified in dermatology.
He became a faculty member of the University of Alabama in Birmingham. On retirement, he and his wife Janet moved to Belleair Beach, Fla., where they enjoyed their piece of paradise on the water.
They didn’t stop there, enjoying traveling the world with the goal of visiting, photographing and bird watching on every continent.

Born on March 26, 1932, in Coolidge, GA, Ruby was the daughter of the late Hezekiah Dowdy and Mattie Lee Leverett Dowdy. She married the love of her life Elmo Taylor Israel on December 10, 1963, and together they owned and operated the 133 Truck Stop on Moultrie Road for many years. They made many cherished memories together until his passing on June 17, 2019. She worked in nursing for many years and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Mitchell County. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Cario and member of The Eastern Star. She loved animals and had many throughout the years that she loved and cared for. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and deer hunting, but most of all she enjoyed time spent with her beloved family.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Ann Owens, and Steve Owens (Sandy) all of Albany; grandchildren, Michael Bryant of Atlanta, and Cyndi Ragsdale of Leesburg; 2 great-grandchildren, Andrew Ragsdale, and Ashley Cason; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Tucker, and Caroline; 2 sisters, Louise Blackaby, and Darlene Tillman; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ronald Poole and her daughter, Cynthia Rigsby.

Born on November 15, 1941, in Tennille, Mr. Peavy was the son of the late James Thomas Peavy and Mabell Price Peavy. He enjoyed the outdoors and walking, but most of all loved The Lord and the time spent with his family. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Lighthouse Ministries of Putney until his health declined. He worked for Tara Foods and retired as a supervisor. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James E. Peavy, Johnny Peavy, and Susie Peavy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Annette Peavy; his daughters, Teresa Ruffin and Melissa Armbrust both of Albany; brother, Robbie Peavy and Ann of Warner Robins; sisters, Trudie Pearce and Raymond of Social Circle and Mattie Wallace of Gadsden, AL; 4 grandchildren, Joshua, James, Kayla, and David; 3 great-grandchildren, Allison, Luke, and Sarah; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Lylah.

Born on July 7, 1938, in Worth County, Mr. Wishum was the son of the late Johnny and Irene Wishum. He worked for many years and retired from Coats and Clark. He loved planting a garden each year and enjoyed fishing. He was a faithful member of Sunnyside Baptist Church for many years where he taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and loved working with children during VBS. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he will be missed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wishum was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances Wishum and his daughter, Denise Torres.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Bonnie Henry Wishum; children, Scarlett Woodard of Albany; stepchildren, Stephen Watson and Pam of Abbeville, Donald Watson of Albany, Michael Watson and Sheila of Valdosta, William Watson and Penny of Albany, Tammy Black and Casey of Albany, and Sonny Whaley; his sister, Annette McGriff of Texas, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was of the Baptist faith and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her grandson, J.C. Lawson and her brother, Charles Howe, and her infant brother.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry L.
