John P Lelli - November 16, 1959 - March 23, 2022

Departed: 03/23/2022 (Angola)
Obituary Preview: John P. Lelli, age 62, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation in Angola, IN. He was born November 16, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Mario and Guerina (Meli) Lelli.
He married the love of his life Amy Jo Everett on February 15, 1986.
John was a phenomenal chef. John started his career in the restaurant industry at a young age. He began working at his father’s restaurant, Mario’s, learning the tricks of the trade. He purchased The Golden Eagle along with his partner Fred at the age of 21. John wanted to pursue a slower pace lifestyle instead of the restaurant business and focus on family. He and his wife started a successful landscape and nursery company called Lone Eagle Nursery. Once again the itch for the restaurant business returned. John and Amy Lelli ran the Hatchery from 2000-2014. John’s daughter and son in law are continuing his legacy alongside Mark and Libby Meston. This is a sad time for our family and we would love the continued support, as nothing would have made John happier. After passing his business along he came out of retirement and worked at Flagstar Bank in Angola as a licensed Banker until his passing.
He loved photography, Disney, Star Wars, and camping. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 36 years, Amy J. Lelli; four children, Heather (Mark) Meston of Angola, IN, Holli (Andrew) Lelli of Hillsdale, MI, Sara (Derek)  Adams of Lexington, South Carolina, Daryl Lelli of Angola, IN.; eight grandchildren, Landon, Connor, Merik, Elijah, Miley, Finley, Amelia & Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mario and Guerina Lelli; and brother, Mario Lelli Jr.
Per his wishes, his family is holding a celebration of life ceremony instead of a traditional funeral.  We invite you to join his widow, children, and grandchildren at his favorite restaurant, The Hatchery Restaurant, March 27th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. where we’ll raise a glass (or three) to the best man we know.  Please feel free to bring a picture of John for our memory wall to share with his family.

Mary M. Chrysler - February 14, 1933 - February 25, 2022

Departed: 02/25/2022 (Angola)
Obituary Preview: Mary M. Chrysler, 89, of Angola, Indiana, died on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at home, with family by her side.
She was born on Valentine’s Day 1933, in Geneva, New York, into a large Italian family. Her late father, Vincenzo Liberatore, immigrated from Abruzzo and her late mother, Mary (Damick) Liberatore, was a first generation Italian-American. Mary was the eighth of 12 children. Two of her sisters, Theresa Krafchik and Frances Rice, and two of her brothers, Vincent Liberatore and Donald Liberatore, survive her.
Mary married Mark R. Chrysler on Dec. 12, 1951, in Auburn, Indiana; they shared 49 devoted years before his passing on May 20, 2000. For many years, Mark and Mary worked the Chrysler Brothers farm, south of Angola, with brother, Jack Chrysler. Mary also worked for the Indiana Division of Family Services, retiring after 22 years.
Mary and Mark raised five children, Sharon Anderson, Denise Chrysler (Paul), Raymond Chrysler (Debbie), David Adamsons (Laura) and Chandra Nierman (Lee, now deceased). Mary is survived by two grandchildren Sara Dirks (Matthew) and Brooke Robbins; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her dog, Romeo.
Her daughter, Sharon; and grandson, Christopher Gokee, preceded her in death.
Mary’s nephew, Steve Chrysler, and niece, Debbie Chrysler, provided her with company and endless errands over several years. Steve is also providing a wonderful home for Romeo.
Mary was a devout Catholic, graduating from 12 years of Catholic school.
She worshiped at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, in Angola, for 71 years. She contributed greatly to the church community, serving as a greeter, member of the Altar & Rosary Society, member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, and a volunteer for the annual rummage sale. She was famous for the powerful rum balls that she brought to committee meetings. Sadly, COVID isolated her from her church community, and her “girlfriends” whom she had joined for breakfast every Sunday after early morning Mass.
Mary loved gardening, feeding birds, photographing wildlife and sunsets, playing television at full blast, cooking rigatoni dinners for her large family, and entertaining children as an elf at Christmas. Most of all, she wanted to remain in her home, located on the old farmstead. As her health declined, so many family members and friends helped her in many ways so that she could continue to live at home. Her great-great-grandsons, Lakyn and Weston, often provided her with company. We are forever thankful for everyone’s generous assistance.
While we will miss her greatly, we are grateful that she had a long life filled with love and family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, March 7, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 700 W. Maumee St., Angola.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at H. E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St., Angola, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m.
Officiating will be Father Robert Showers.
Mary will be laid to rest at Jamestown Cemetery in Fremont.
Preferred memorials are to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for the benefit of the Altar & Rosary Society and the St. Vincent DePaul Society, American Red Cross or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

After the death of her mother Edith, Elenore was adopted and raised by Ed and Lorena Post of Ray, Indiana.  Elenore was blessed with 4 sisters, Louise, Pati, Laura, Janet and 3 brothers Bill, Ray and Roy.
Elenore attended grade school at Scott Center and graduated at Fremont High School.
Elenore married William Wayne McKinley in 1950.  She was a loving and devoted mother to her 10 children, Nyla Faye, Thomas Wayne, Rick Lyman, Sharon Ann, Shirley Jean, Jerry Lee, Debra Annette, Christine Louise, Penny Sue and Sandra Joan, and to her 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren.
Elenore's first full time job was raising her children. She worked long hard days. Never seen her without a potato peeler in her hand or standing over the ringer washer, then to the clothes line. When the kids got older she worked at the Rendezvous as a cook. She loved that job. That is where she started socializing and meeting new friends. It was an escape from all the kids. She was heartbroken when they closed down. Her next job was at the Angola Nursing Home. She worked there for many years as a cook before retiring; there too she met new friends.
Elenore's favorite pastime was reading. She always had a book in her hands. It was not uncommon for her to read a book a day. Her favorite authors were Steven Kings and James Patterson. She also enjoyed watching Nascar racing, a big Dale Earnhart fan.
The family wishes for all to remember the kindness and generosity she bestowed upon us, and never forget her warm smile. She always carried the warmest smile that would make you feel so welcomed into her life.  Mom you will be forever missed but never forgotten.
At her request, no services will be held.

Obituary Preview: Suzanne "Sue" L. Drewes, 84, went home to the Lord on Sunday, October 17, 2021 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after battling Parkinson’s.  She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 8, 1936 to Elmer and Erma (Glanzman) Reetz in the family’s home on Glanzman Road.
Sue worked at the Ohio Bell after she graduated from Libbey High School.  She met Richard (Dick) through her friend Renee and Dick’s friend Marvin.  They were married on January, 25, 1958 and were married 63 years.  Their families made many happy memories together, including yearly trips to Cedar Point.
Sue dedicated her life to her husband and children.  She volunteered at Mayfair Elementary School with the PTA until the children moved to Junior High.  She then became active at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in downtown Toledo where they were members.
Dick’s job at Dana Corporation took them to Janesville, Wisconsin in 1978.  When the plant closed in 1980, they transferred to Fort Wayne, Indiana.  They lived in Fort Wayne until Dick retired and they built their current home on Snow Lake in Fremont, Indiana.  Sue helped make the banners for their church in Fort Wayne when they lived there.
Sue enjoyed sewing and made most of the children’s clothing when they were growing up.  The family weddings were a busy time for her.  She made bridesmaids dresses, veils and ring bearer suits.  She always made her dresses for special occasions, including her children’s weddings.  When the grandchildren were born, she made clothing for them, including smocked dresses and beach jackets to wear at the lake.  She made Cabbage Patch dolls when those were popular.
Sue always had the grandchildren spend a week at their house every summer.  She took them school shopping to get them an outfit for school, they went to the park and other fun activities.
In 1986, they bought a cottage on Snow Lake.  The family spent many, many weekends swimming, boating, skiing, tubing and fishing.  After a day of playing on the lake or on rainy days, time was spent playing games.  When Sue knew who was going to be there, she always made their favorite kind of cookies.  For the past few years, she enlisted Dick to help her bake them, until she couldn’t do it anymore.
When Dick retired, they replaced the cottage with their current home.  Sue and Dick enjoyed paddle boating around the lake during the week when the lake was not busy.  She was a member of the Sewing Sisters at Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont, Indiana until her Parkinson’s symptoms prevented her from participating.
