Obituary Preview: Rochester NH-Margaret Ellen (Hanscom) Jacques passed away on Sunday April 28, 2024 at Langdon Place of Dover.
Born on January 27, 1942, in Rochester, NH, she was the daughter of Freeman and Helen (Conner) Hanscom.
Margaret, Peg, as she was known, was a caring person with many talents. She was an accomplished piano player, especially fond of classical music, musical theatre, and religious music.
She loved spending time in her gardens, growing a beautiful array of flowers. Margaret was very interested in history, especially genealogy. She spent many hours researching and compiling the family trees of the Hanscom / Connor and Jacques / Gagne families going all the back to the 1650’s.
Peg enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite destinations was Ossipee Lake and the surrounding area. She particularly enjoyed a trip to the Southwest, exploring the national parks throughout that region.
Margaret was an animal lover and had a particular fondness for cats.
Peg worked as a homemaker health aide, a piano teacher, and as a real estate sales and office assistant.
More than anything else, Peg loved her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Freeman and Helen Hanscom, as well as her half-sister
Beverly Matthews.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roger A. Jacques, as well as her three children, Stephen Jacques, Paul Jacques, and Christine Jacques. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Andrew Jacques and Zachery Jacques. Visitation will take place on Friday May 3, 2024 from 5pm-7pm at Grondin Funeral
Home, located at 177 N. Main Street, Rochester NH 03867. Service will take place on Saturday May 4, 2024 at 1:00PM at Grondin Funeral Home,
followed by a burial at Forrest Glade Cemetery in Somersworth NH.

Linda Bisson-Gaskell - June 19, 1953 - April 23, 2024

Obituary Preview: Linda Gaskell (Bisson) passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, in Rochester, NH, at the age of 70 with her loved ones by her side. She was born on June 19, 1953, in Rochester, NH, to her late parents, George and Lucille Bisson.
Linda was a devoted and passionate individual who dedicated herself to helping others especially children and elderly in need. She regularly donated her time, resources, and efforts to her community, exemplifying her caring nature. Linda's generosity extended to organizing trips to Disney for others to create lasting memories, donating her time to the Red Cross for blood drives, and supporting various charitable causes.
In her career, Linda served as an Accountant at the University of New Hampshire. She was also a four-time President of the Rochester Emblem Club and received the honor of being named Rochester Citizen of the Year in 2010 and Rochester Elk's Citizen of the Year in 2013.
Linda's interests included yearly trips to Disney with her husband, Rod, visits to the White Mountains, attending Bruins and Red Sox games, and traveling. She enjoyed music, particularly the Eagles and Elton John, and was a huge fan of Star Trek. Her kindness and selflessness touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her husband, Rod Gaskell, her Goddaughter, Amanda Tomaszewski whom she loved as her own, and her closest friends and cousins Julie, Angel, Trudy, Ann, Diane, Sherry, and Carol.
Contributions in Linda's memory can be made to the Rochester Emblem Club or to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
A visitation to honor Linda's life will be held at Grondin's Funeral Home in Rochester, NH on Sunday April 28th from 5 PM - 7 PM. There will be an Elk's service at 6:30 PM followed by an Emblem Club Service at 6:45 PM. A Mass at Holy Rosary Church will be on Monday April 29th at 10 AM followed with a Mercy Meal.
Linda will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and dedication to helping others.

Doretta M. Yeaton - August 13, 1932 - April 18, 2024

Obituary Preview: Rochester – Doretta Yeaton, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 13, 1932 in Rochester, Doretta was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Cook) Winkley.
A true Rochester native, Doretta attended Spaulding High School and graduated in 1950. She married Donald Yeaton and together, she and Donald raised her three children. Doretta’s life revolved around them. She adored watching her children grow and become parents to their own. She loved the time spent with her grandchildren and enjoyed keeping up with them through many pictures on Facebook.
Doretta was also a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years.
Along with her parents, Doretta is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Yeaton; brother, Leo Winkley; and great-grandson, Fox Fisher.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alan Yeaton of Daytona Beach, FL, Scott Yeaton and wife, Kendal of Strafford, NH, and Cheri Fisher of Freedom, NH; brother, Harlie Winkley and wife, Anita, of Winter Haven, FL; nephew, Brian Winkley and wife, Lisa, of Rochester; Niece, Shanda Cahill and husband, Mike, of Wells, ME; grandchildren, Michael Fisher, Jason Fisher, Tiffani Drena, Tara Reed, Joshua Yeaton, James Yeaton, and Jenifer Bergeron; and great-grandchildren, Teeghan, Taylor, Thea, Michael, Addison, Aubrie, Piper, Lauren, Madelyn, Bennett, Birch, Sawyer and Jenelle.

Roger O. Gosselin - July 27, 1939 - April 06, 2024

Obituary Preview: Rochester – Roger O. Gosselin, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 27, 1939, Roger was the son of the late Oscar and Marrie Anne (Goupil) Gosselin.
A true Rochester native, Roger was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy and after time at the NH Vocational Institute for Machine Technology, he went on to start his career as a Machinist Mechanic for Sylvania. He worked there for 35 years. Roger also worked part time for SLC Transportation as a bus driver until his recent illness. He truly enjoyed this job, and it kept him motivated.
Roger also served honorably in the United States Army for 3 years.
In his free time, Roger was a very avid cribbage player and skilled at horseshoes. He also adored all New England Sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. A man of great faith, Roger was also a very active member of St. Leo’s Parish.
Along with his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia (Taylor) Gosselin; and stepdaughter, Virginia Cormier.
Left to cherish his memory are his step-children, Mitchell Hartford and wife, Connie, of Middleton, NH, Vickie Rondeau and husband, Robert, of Rochester, NH, Christine Hebert of Norway, ME, and Becky Hyde of East Rochester, NH; 9 grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, 2 great, great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.

Obituary Preview: Jon B. Anderson, 65, of Barrington, New Hampshire, passed away Tuesday, March 19, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital due to complications from pulmonary hypertension. He was surrounded by his family.
He was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts as the 4th of 5 children to Donald B. and Evelyn J. Anderson of Braintree.
He graduated from Braintree High School in 1976. His notable achievements from high school include becoming an Eagle Scout and participating in a school trip to the Soviet Union.
He attended Boston College and graduated in 1980 with a BS in Chemistry and a minor in economics. After a short stint in Officer Candidate School, he was honorably discharged from the Navy for medical reasons.
He married Meredith Wright in 1987 and together they raised three children, Matthew, Jessica, and Marissa.
Jon worked various chemistry jobs until his Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease forced him into an early retirement. Following that, he spent the last 15 years volunteering with the Pease Greeters, Rochester Veterans Council, AMVETS, and the American Legion in Rochester, New Hampshire, serving on the latter’s Executive Council. A consummate storyteller, he could entertain family, friends, and strangers for hours with plenty of good stories. He especially enjoyed hosting people at his home bar dubbed “Jon’s Two Stool Tavern.”
Jon was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Evelyn, his sister Donna Callahan, and his brother Richard “Andy.” He is survived by his three children Matthew (& wife Kelly), Jessica, and Marissa, former wife Meredith; two brothers Mark (& wife Sharon) and Thomas (& wife Linda) and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church in Dover, NH. A reception at the American Legion in Rochester, NH will follow at 12:30pm. The burial will be private.

Paul S. Parker - November 06, 1948 - March 19, 2024

Obituary Preview: Paul S Parker, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on November 6, 1948 in Rochester, NH, Paul was the son of the late Earl (Stan) and Loretta (Boucher) Parker. Paul spent his childhood on the family farm in Milton, NH. He began working at a young age, joining the United States Army in January 1968, where he spent time in both Vietnam and Germany. After an honorable discharge, he then served an additional 18 years in the Army Reserves.
A leader at heart, Paul worked diligently for the Town of Farmington, as Selectman and on the Zoning Board, for many years. Even in his neighborhood, where Paul and Mary Ann built their forever home log by log, Paul took a leadership role serving as President of the Golden Circle Road Association for several years and was an ongoing contributor to the Road Association for many years after.
In his free time, Paul enjoyed the simple things in life and could often be found in his shop either woodworking or spending time with his good friend, Ron Breton. He found pleasure target shooting and betting on the Patriot games with his cousin (like a brother) Al Parker. He rescued several dogs throughout his lifetime, his favorite being a German Shepherd named Lady. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle as often as possible, often taking the six hour round trip ride to the Blessing of the Bikes in Colebrook, NH with his loving wife and many friends. Above all else, Paul valued talking to and spending as much time as possible with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary Ann (Huppe) Parker; his children, Samantha Hempfling of Lee, Jody Buckley of Rochester, Paul E Parker of Durham, and Ray Cormier and his wife Diane of Rochester; siblings Phillip Parker and wife Pam of Dover, and Elaine Perkins and husband Llewelyn of Strafford; his grandchildren Kristal Worthington and her husband Joe, Joseph, Ian, and Emma (Adrian) Hempfling, Nathaniel and Jacob Moore, and Addie and Ellie Buckley; great grandchildren Grayson and Hayden Worthington.
Along with his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Marie Watts.
Friends and family are called to visit Saturday March 23, 2024 from 9:30am – 10:30am at Grondin Funeral Home, 177 North Main St. Rochester, NH. A Mass will immediately follow at 11:00am at Holy Rosary Church, 189 N Main St. Rochester, NH. Paul will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Gonic at a later date.

Robert "Bob" R. Forcier Sr. - April 03, 1938 - March 15, 2024

He was born on April 3, 1938, in Gonic, New Hampshire to Willie and Rose (Hebert) Forcier.
Robert, or as most called him, Bob, was not one to let any moss grow under his feet, always keeping busy. Whether chopping wood, getting the camp ready for the many visits of family and friends to building his rock walls, his love of the outdoors was not lost to anyone that knew him. Bob worked for many years in the grocery business at Edward’s Market, Columbia Market and S&S Supermarket as a store manager. Many in the community knew him well. His love for his family was his greatest passion and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He also served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
Survivors include his partner of over 30 years, Patti Narowski; daughter Linda (John) Gisis, sons Paul Forcier and Robert Forcier, Jr; grandchildren Stephanie (Mike) Gisis, Nicholas (Kelsie) Gisis; Todd (Cassie) Forcier, Shaunda (Wesley) Dionne; great grandchildren John, Benjamin, Miles, Luca, Jack, Cooper, and Madison; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Donald Forcier and his ex-wife Hilda (Talon) Forcier.

Obituary Preview: Rochester – John “Jack” Card III, 82, of Rochester, son of the late John and Ruby (Edwards) Card, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, March 11.
Jack was born on October 4, 1941, in Rochester at Frisbie Memorial Hospital. He spent much of early years in Wolfeboro, Dover and Farmington, New Hampshire where he graduated in 1959.
Upon graduation, Jack served his country joining the United States Navy, serving on the USS Antares AKS33. It was during this time he met the love of his life, Ramona Mathieson. Upon leaving the Navy, Jack was a United States Postal Carrier in Durham, New Hampshire. In his later years he drove wholesale for Sullivan Tire.
Jack is predeceased by his brother Donald Card of South Carolina. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mona; his daughters Cheryl Gagne of Somersworth, and Wendy Pinkham with husband Ronn, of Alton; son Scott Card of Seattle, Washington; his granddaughter Heidi Gagne and her partner James Pond of Somersworth; grandson Benn Pinkham and partner Cassie Henry of Alton, sister Terry Gilmore of Alton, many nieces and nephews, and last, but not least, his beloved kitty, Veronica.
All that knew and loved Jack will miss his stories, his jokes, his love for people and his endless love of wildlife.
A private ceremony will be held by the family in late spring in Lincoln, New Hampshire, one of Jack’s favorite parts of New Hampshire.

A true native to the area, Donald grew up in Gonic and attended school at Holy Rosary School. Following graduation, he went to the Andover Institute of Technology and then served in the United States Army National Guard for over 27 years.
In his free time, Don adored peaceful times camping, especially at Cole’s Mine in Lebanon, ME. He also enjoyed a Patriots game from time to time and also loved hanging out at home with his favorite cat, Beau.
Along with his parents, Don is preceded in death by his former wife, Harriet Lachance; and brothers, Roger and Rick Lachance and Nephew Justin Lachance.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Nancy (Lamontagne) Lachance; step-children, Jana Vachon and partner, Anthony Capone of Rochester, Dawna Kimball of Rochester, Brian Vachon and wife, Kristine, of Rochester, Keith Vachon and wife, Jennifer, of Middleton, and Christopher Seavey of Rochester; as well as a sister in law , Jean Ann Lachance of Rochester; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

All her knew her loved her personality, spunk, and honesty. To know her was to love her, and she loved so fiercely.
She was predeceased by her parents Herbert A. Dearborn Sr. and Eleanor L. Dearborn (Ellisworth); and her brothers, Reginald, Leon, and Herbert Dearborn.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine L. Georgiou and husband, Paul, of Rochester; her son, Dennis E. Belhumeur, Jr. of Rochester; her grandchildren, Lakeisha A. Belhumeur-Georgiou, and long-time partner, Alexander Inman, Cody M. Belhumeur-Georgiou, Alexis E. Belhumeur-Georgiou, and Adrian W. Belhumeur-Georgiou of Rochester; her sisters, Sandra A. Dearborn of Rochester, Susan Hoyt and her husband, Wayne, of Rochester, and Eva Dearborn of Exeter; sister-in-laws, Debra Dearborn and Lynn Dearborn; her many nieces and nephews and her “adopted” children.

William proudly served his country in the US Air Force and US Coast Guard.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Saint Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Somersworth.
William was an avid golfer, and a huge fan of the Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots. He enjoyed reading, hiking, pickleball, and being outdoors in the sun. His favorite spot to go was Alton Bay where he would watch the boats with his beloved wife Tammy.
William was devoted to his Catholic faith and his family. He has impacted many lives through his various ministries including Kairos, Franciscan Order, and his men’s prayer group. He was an incredible person who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is predeceased by his mother, Patricia Roberts.
William is survived by his father, William Roberts, Sr., his loving wife Tammy (Eldredge) Roberts, his children, Philip W. Roberts, and his wife Stacy, and his daughter Erica Almeciga, his brothers, John Roberts and his wife Linda and Brian Roberts and his wife Debra, his grandchildren, Patrick Roberts, Amaynilee Wallace, and Robert Wallace, Jr., as well as his nieces and nephews, Kristina Roberts, John Roberts, Jr., Tiffany Patient, Mary Vander Hulst, and Brian Roberts, Jr.
Services will be held on Tuesday March 5, 2024, at St. Martin’s Church located at 120 Maple Street, Somersworth NH. Visitation will take place from 10am-11am with a Funeral Mass to follow. Flowers and gifts of sympathy for William and his family may be sent to Grondin Funeral Home located

Evelyn M Lundgren,” Lynn” of Rochester NH, formerly of Saratoga Springs, NY passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. Lynn was born Evelyn Mary Guckemus on March 7, 1941, in Schenectady, NY to Paul and Evelyn Guckemus. She was the oldest of 7 brothers and sisters and is survived by her younger siblings Gretchen & Gary Guckemus, both residing in upstate NY. Lynn is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Curtis V. Lundgren. She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses; Karin Pike, married to Lee, Jon Lundgren, married to Shannon and Jennifer Reckmeyer, married to John. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Candace, Christopher, Timothy, Matthew, Katherine, Lindsay and Devin and her 9 great grandchildren, Nathan, Cadence, Jackson, Zachary, Raelynn, Harleigh, Tallyn, Atlas and Cohan.
Lynn was a very smart woman graduating salutatorian of her high school class. She was active in drama starring in her high school production of Oklahoma and in sports. She particularly enjoyed playing basketball. She loved lighthouses and spending time at the ocean. She loved to swim and was often called a mermaid due to the amount of time she loved to spend in the water. She was very creative, and, as an artist, she created several paintings and was an avid quilt maker. Many in her family are blessed to have one of her handmade quilts. She was primarily a homemaker but managed to hold several jobs. Her favorite was her position as a teacher’s aide in the Stratham Elementary school which she held for many years. Lynn loved to spend time with her family. She and Curt played daily games of Backgammon each morning with their coffee. They were quite competitive. She particularly delighted in playing any kind of game. As she was the winner most of the time, her children and grandchildren made it their mission to beat her at word games, especially Boggle. Lynn was also very fond of saying 2 phrases; “You have to suffer to be beautiful.” and “If we all work together.” Yes, Mom, our eyes are rolling.
Lynn always wanted to be a teacher and believed that she had a ballerina dancer living inside of her. Her desire was that the world know that she had the “Heart of a teacher and Soul of a ballerina”.
Lynn’s ashes will be buried with her husband’s later this year at a family plot in Saratoga Springs, NY. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Portsmouth Regional hospital, particularly Taylor for their excellent care. They would also like to thank Cornerstone Hospice, in particular Jean Bell for her kindness and devotion to Lynn’s home care this past week. And finally, they would like to thank St. Ann Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Dover, NH for their kindness and assistance in Lynn’s rehab care. Obituary Preview: Rochester - Robert G. Blanchette, 88, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, February 21 at the Hyder House in Dover.
He was born on December 18, 1935, in Biddeford, Maine to Albert Gerard and Rose Irene (Bouchard) Blanchette.
Robert attended Holy Rosary school in Rochester and graduated from Holy Rosary High School, class of 1953. After graduation, Robert began working for W. T. Grant department store in Rochester as a stock clerk/window dresser, eventually working his way up to stock manager/assistant store manager. On July 4th, 1955, Robert married his High School sweetheart Theresa A. Mansur and started a family together. By the Fall of 1965, they had four children to raise: one girl and three boys. Robert stayed with “Grants” until the store closed in 1976. After Grants closed, Robert kept busy finding work building houses and doing odd jobs until a position became available at C.E. Avery in Newington NH. Robert worked his way up from sweeping floors on third shift to learning the art of weld grinding as a “finisher” on first shift until a layoff in 1988 made him change jobs completely and learn how to operate a three-color press in the Print Shop of UNH where he stayed happily employed until retirement in 1998. Robert was known to say he was a “jack of all trades, but master of none”. He was a very social man that had many passions, his social nature served him well as a past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus. He could be found playing his guitar, listening to country music, and he would always be humming a song while he worked. His love of people was second only to the love he had for his family. He would always respond “love you more” when a family member would say “I love you”. Robert was deeply loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
He is predeceased by his parents Albert Gerard and Rose Irene Blanchette, brothers Paul and Rudy Blanchette, daughter Patricia Ann Thurston, and daughter in-law Amy Blanchette. Survivors include his loving wife of over 68 years, Theresa A. (Mansur) Blanchette of Rochester; sisters-in-law Evelyn Blanchette of Rochester and Madeleine Blanchette of Ocala Florida; sons Gerard Blanchette of Farmington, Marc (Joyce) Blanchette of Rochester, Michael (Mary) Blanchette of Rochester and son-in-law Steven Thurston; grandchildren Chris Thurston, Cindy (Thurston) LaFlower, Jenny (Jon) Hayward, Justin Blanchette, Austin (Jess) Blanchette, Ryan Blanchette, Melissa (Brandon) Spiers, Katie (Aiden) McMahon, Jacob (Jenna) Blanchette; great grandchildren Aidan LaFlower, Natalee LaFlower, Emilee Thurston, Trinity Hayward, Jocelyn Hayward, Eli Blanchette, Owen Spiers, Jackson Spiers; along with many nieces and nephews.

Norbert L. Marcotte - June 04, 1928 - February 20, 2024

Obituary Preview: Rochester - Norbert L. Marcotte “Nobby”, 95, formerly of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 4, 1928, in Rochester, Norbert was the son of the late Leo and Yvonne (Grondin) Marcotte.
A Rochester native, Norbert obtained his GED and then he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served honorably for 5 years and received the Presidential Medal for his service. During that time, he also joined the Merchant Marine Corp as well. Once his service was complete, Norbert worked a short while for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an Apprentice Pattern Maker before beginning his true career at General Electric as a Foreman. Norbert worked there for 36 years before his retirement in 1998.
When away from work, Norbert had several hobbies, but his favorite undoubtedly was golf. Not only a passion but also a true skill, Nobby enjoyed playing well into his 90s. It wasn’t until Covid kept him from the golf courses that he started to slow down. Between Farmington Country Club and Stuart Golf Course – Nobby was quite the regular and was loved by all that new him through the sport. He also loved a good game of Yahtzee, or “cards” as he referred to it.
Though Norbert considered Rochester his home, he was a snowbird and considered Stuart, Florida his home away from home. He enjoyed many winters in the area and even served on the Board of Directors condo association for Cedar Point Village 8.
Along with his parents, Nobby is preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Marcotte; twin brother, Norman Marcotte; brother, Roland Marcotte; and sister, Estelle Belliveau.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Roger Marcotte and wife, Debra, of Milton, NH, Anita Sanborn and husband, Robert, of East Rochester, Cheryl Root and husband, Ronald of Rochester, and June Marcotte of Stuart, seven grandchildren, seven great -grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass for Norbert will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Holy Rosary Church, 189 N. Main St, Rochester NH, 03867 with an urn burial to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in the Spring.

He was born on May 13, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts to Donald and Winnifred (Donahue) FitzGerald.
Lawrence attended and graduated from Norfolk Agricultural School. He was a renaissance man of sorts. Employed as a fire fighter, an EMT and steel worker. He was a strong man, as one must be, being the only boy in a house with six sisters.
His passions, besides being the best dad to his 4 boys, he loved painting and his favorite tv show MASH. He lived by the cross, becoming an ordained minister visiting jails and homes of the sick providing the word of God to those who could not come to church.
He is predeceased by his dad Donald FitzGerald and sister Donna FitzGerald. He is survived by his Mom, Winnifred, 104 years young of Coventry, Connecticut, his wife of 50 years, Leah FitzGerald of Farmington; sons Job (Hannah) FitzGerald, Israel FitzGerald, Elijah FitzGerald and Jeremiah FitzGerald; sister’s Winnie (Bill) Adler, Mary Ellen Smith, Cindy Houser, Martha FitzGerald and Ann Rau; grandchildren Kyle, Erin, Sullivan, Marisa, Samuel and Lilly, and Clementine; great-grandchildren Zalania and Xava. Lawrence will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Obituary Preview: Stella Gloria Stillings, age 87 of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on February 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Stella was born on September 12, 1936, in North Stratford, New Hampshire to Leland and Lurline Lurvey.
She graduated from North Stratford High School and McIntosh Business College with an associate degree in accounting. Throughout her life she held many retail positions while raising a family. Later in life Stella was a dedicated employee of Liberty Mutual for 26 years until her retirement in 2007.
As a North Stratford High School student, she excelled at basketball and helped her team win many tournaments. Throughout her life her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. Stella and her husband Ralph were permanent fixtures at their grandchildren's school and sporting events. She loved traveling with her family, especially her annual vacation to Cape Cod. She enjoyed taking long car rides to the beach and was an avid reader. Stella had deep spiritual faith and was a member of the Our Lady of the Rosary Church community for over 30 years.
Stella was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Ralph Stillings Jr. whom she was married to for 60 years, her parents, Leland and Lurline Lurvey, her sister Patricia O’Neill, and son in law Raymond Rothermel.
She is survived by her children Sherry Rothermel Lamontagne (Keith Lamontagne) of New Durham, NH, Ralph Stillings III (Linda Stillings) of Wilmington, MA, Lori Stillings of Rochester NH, Lisa Avery (Gary Avery) of Somersworth, NH, Leland Stillings (Jeffrey Gerhart) of Wilmington, NC. She was “MIMI” to 4 grandchildren she adored, Justin Rothermel (Amy) of Wolfeboro, NH, Meghan Lund (Earle) of Chichester, NH, Tyler Stillings (Kristen) of Ashburham, MA, and Corey Stillings (Jordyn) of Wakefield, MA. Treasured great-grandchildren, Easton, Ryder, and Adeline Rothermel, and Walker Stillings. She was anxiously awaiting her only granddaughter's (Meghan) first child due to arrive soon. She is survived by two sisters, Cora Hemenway of Florida, and Lillian Noyes of North Stratford, NH.

Born on February 13, 1924 in Rochester, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Joseph Prospire Gauthier and Regina Alma (Mailhot) Gauthier.
A true Rochester native, Beatrice attended Holy Rosary School before meeting Henry Corriveau thru family neighbors. They wed on April 18,1942 and went on to begin their beautiful family. A woman of great faith, Beatrice was a member of Holy Rosary Parish for her entire life. She also adored her time spent at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Rochester.
Beatrice truly thrived with her family and friends around her. She loved travelling down to Florida with her husband and also loved and looked forward to her Saturday game nights with friends. Kings in the Corner was always her favorite game. Beatrice also loved a good jigsaw puzzle and worked on them regularly while at St. Ann’s.
Most importantly though, Beatrice adored her large family, and always looked forward to their visits.
Along with her parents, Beatrice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Corriveau; sons, Henry “Butch” Corriveau and Edward Corriveau and her 10 siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alice Vermette and husband, Dennis, of Rochester, Robert Corriveau and wife, Cindy of Rochester, Thomas Corriveau and wife, Martha, of Milton, Annette Hope-Ross and husband, Chris, of Portsmouth, and Roger Corriveau and wife, Linda, of Milton; 12 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren, and 8 great, great-grandchildren.

Born on October 19, 1935, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, she was the daughter of W. Hayward Ames and Edna (Graham) Ames.
Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rochester NH, and a former longtime member of the First Baptist Church, in Owego, NY. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Mary Torr Chapter, Rochester, NH. She resided in Tara Estates and participated in community activities fully.
She was a devoted educator by profession, sharing her passion for learning with countless students throughout her life, most recently in the nurturing environment of a preschool in Owego. Her lasting influence on young lives was unmistakable as former students of all ages would recognize her in public, light up, come in for a hug, and affectionately refer to her as 'Mrs. Neely’.
She was a talented, creative cook and hostess, and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and feeding the birds. She loved to travel, whether it was camping with her late husband Bob, trips to Europe with family or friends, visits to her family around the country, or weekend drives in the country.
Marjorie grew up in Maine, and continued to enjoy the beauty of East Grand Lake, spending time there in the cottage her grandfather and father built when she was a child. She made it her summer haven each year, enjoying the lake, the calls of the loons, the cool weather, and time spent with family and friends.
She loved her family more than anything, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was excited to attend weddings of two grandsons this past summer, adding two daughters-in-law to her family. She enjoyed celebrating the activities of all of her grandchildren, and kept up with their dancing and sports schedules.
Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband, J. Robert Neely, as well as her parents, W. Hayward and Edna Ames.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Innes and her husband Daniel, J.Robert Neely Jr (Rob) and his wife Kris, her brother Hayward Ames and his wife Deane, her grandchildren, Brendan and his wife Julia, Trevor and his wife Kentyn, Mackenzie, and Zachary. She also leaves behind her beloved sister and brother in law Shirley and Chuck, and her nieces and nephews, Connie and Greg, Pam and Bruce, and Chuck and Patti.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 34 S. Main Street, Rochester NH on Saturday, 3/16/2024 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the memorial service at the Tara Estates Clubhouse, 716 Salmon Falls Rd. Rochester, NH.
A celebration of her life will take place at East Grand Lake during the summer of 2024, and burial will take place near her beloved husband Bob in Geneva, NY at a later date.

Obituary Preview: Paul F. Cahill, 88, formerly of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the Dover Center for Rehabilitation. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 29, 1935, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Paul was the son of the late Edward and Dorothy (Smith) Cahill.
A Massachusetts native, Paul was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School in 1953. Following his graduation, he went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. After his service, Paul graduated from Boston University as one of the first students to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. In 1962, he married his wife, Joan, and eventually settled in Salem, NH where they raised four children.
Throughout his life, Paul adored all things technology. It led him to his degree from Boston University to a job as a Programming Analyst at Unisys for over 30 years. Whether at work or at home, Paul could always be found tinkering away on his many devices. Paul loved to learn new things; from acquiring a real estate broker license, flying a drone, learning Spanish with Duolingo to toning his Microsoft Excel skills. As an avid reader, Paul had a keen interest in history and, specifically, WWII. When his children were younger, Paul was also a committee member for the Salem Boy Scouts.
Along with his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his brothers, George “Warren” Cahill and Edward Cahill; and son-in-law, Steve Pollard.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Joan Cahill; children, Timothy Cahill of Arlington, MA, Susan Pollard of Rochester, NH; Carol Troy and spouse, Michael, of Rochester, NH, and Thomas Cahill of Daytona Beach, Florida; sisters, Rita Drake and Ann Huke and husband, Peter; grandchildren, Lucas Troy and wife Adrian, Jacob Troy and wife, Luisa, and David Troy and wife, Kayla; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Troy.

Obituary Preview: Rochester – Cynthia M. Carpenter, 91, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, at Harmony Homes in Durham NH. Born February 23, 1932, in Rochester, NH. Cynthia was the daughter of the late Arthur and Doris (Ward) Nadeau.
A true Rochester native, Cynthia graduated from Spaulding High School, Class of 1950. Following graduation, she went on to begin her long career with New England Telephone. Through out her life, Cynthia had a zeal for many things. She was an ardent believer in maintaining good health. She read volumes of books on nutrition and the importance of exercise. She loved aerobics, taking long walks, Apple Cider Vinegar and eating healthfully. However, she did appreciate sitting with a good novel and enjoying her favorite milk chocolate. Cynthia also loved her two cats, Goldie and Rufus. They held a special place in her heart.
More importantly, Cynthia loved her family. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy, filled with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Of this, she was most proud.
Along with her parents, Cynthia is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Carpenter; and her sisters, Jane Chasse and Vivian Cartier and her great granddaughter, Jude M. Bilodeau.

Barbara was born in Portsmouth NH and lived in Kittery, Rochester, Gonic, and Milton over the years. She graduated from Spaulding High School in 1947. Barbara retired from St. Charles Children’s Home in Rochester where she enjoyed working as a cook and seamstress. She and her husband Andy were very happy together in their loving, thirty-seven-year marriage. They had many adventures traveling in their camper. Barbara was a kind and giving friend, and she cared deeply for each of her children who were the highlights of her life.

She was born September 9, 1959, in Rochester to Leo P. and Pauline (Lemoyne) Cormier.
Jeannette, or “Jae” as she is known to her family, graduated from Spaulding High School, class of 1977, later obtaining her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Plymouth State University.
Besides loving, helping her family, her other passion and drive in life was to help others. She proudly worked in many different factions of social services. Working for Frisbie Hospital was just a launching spot for “Jae”. She founded the support group Making Strides for people afflicted with cancer; would perform Reiki (a form of energy healing) for patients at Wentworth Douglas Hospital; was a Justice of the Peace, officiating many weddings; a member of the Jaycees and served on the Rochester School Board. Jae will forever be known for her big, caring, and passionate heart, helping all in need, and she will be greatly missed by all that know her.
She is predeceased by her parents Leo and Pauline, brothers Roland and Marc Cormier and brother-in-law Arthur Caouette. Survivors include husband Tim Duntley of Rochester; sons Phillip Frechette (Chandra Reber) of Concord, Scott (Amanda) Frechette of Rochester; brothers Leo (Kim) Cormier, Jr. of Milton, sisters Claire Cormier of Rochester, Madeleine Caouette of East Wakefield, Denise (Harold) Arno of Nottingham, brother- in-law(s) Edward (Tamara) Colby of Concord, Thomas (Elaine) Duntley, Theodore (Cindy Blanchette) Duntley and sister-in-law Cheri Cormier of Rochester; grandchildren Anabelle, Allison, Jakob, Zoey, Shaun Frechette and Laelya Drouinreber along with many nieces and nephews.

Dawn Marie Nester - January 04, 1955 - January 05, 2024

Obituary Preview: On January 5, 2024, Dawn Nester lost her battle with cancer. She was an active member of the First Unite Methodist Church, serving as a member of committees and volunteering in the office, among other activities.
Dawn was the only child of Alan Frederick Elwood (deceased). She was born on January 4, 1955. She was 69 at the time of her passing. She was born at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. Although she was born in New Hampshire, she was not a lifelong resident. Her father served in the U.S. Air Force. He was discharged from the Air Force in October 1973. She grew up in Michigan, Florida, Nebraska, and Northern Virginia, her last residence of 35-1/2 years before moving back to New Hampshire to care for her mother.
She graduated from Groveton High School (now known as West Potomac High School) on June 10, 1973. Immediately following graduation, Dawn worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). She was there for 18 months before transferring to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where she spent 43 years with them, working her way up the ranks to end her career as a Program Analyst withing the Commissioner’s Office. Her position did not involve tax returns. Instead, she helped more senior analysts, team leads, and her projects other divisions within IRS, as directed. Dawn had the pleasure as IRS’ liaison with internal Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (formerly known as EEO). These opportunities included being on site for ASPIRE (Asian/American Internal Revenue Employee’s) national program (and she helped found the organization); HIRE’s national conference; and other offices within IRS, She also served as liaison for the Commissioner’s Office to such organizations as IRS’ Reduction in Force Taskforce as historian, writer, and assistant; The National Public Service Recognition Week held on the National Mall, and the local Combined Federal Campaign (the government’s similar to United Way); Federally Employed Women (FEW): and Public Service’s Roundtable meetings. These were important stepping stones for her career.
Upon retirement on December 31, 2017, Dawn became fore active by volunteering FUMC’s front office, helping with large and small projects, serving on committees, and in general trying to help where needed.
