Obituary Preview: Paul Luther Watson Jr. son of the late Paul L Watson Sr and Maria Perry Watson was born on November 26, 1935, In Beaufort South Carolina. He departed this life on Wednesday February 23, 2022.
Paul was educated at The Robert Smalls School in Beaufort County from K-12.  He graduated in 1956.
Paul moved to New York and resided in Brooklyn for over 60 years. To support his growing family he then became a truck driver, working in the import/export division with a strong focus in mixed media.  For 35 years he worked for the Palmieri Truck Company. Paul was what you would call a quiet storm.  He was so reserved until you got him riled up. Paul loved to play the drums and when he wasn't working in his earlier years he was in a band. Paul loved to drive and would often take road trips to visit his family members who lived out of state. His last days were spent in Kings Brook nursing home.  He was still feisty and still loved to talk with his children.  When his granddaughter was getting married in January, he was so excited and was determined to attend.
Paul is survived by his 7 children: Carol, Regina, David, Debra, Melvin, Paula and Royce.  His 6 grandchildren, Alicia, Tarrell, Alexis, Ciara, Justine and Elijah Paul, 1 great grand Makayla Melveline Hunter, 1 daughter in law Carissa, his sister Pauline, his brother Walter Sr., nieces Sandra, Kia, Keisha, nephews Donald, Walter Jr, Kevin and Joey, 1 brother-in-law Joseph Gaines Sr. A host of other nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, special cousins, other relatives and special friends. Paul is preceded in life by his wonderful wife Melveline, his parents, his brothers Albert and Freddie, his sister Alma, his daughter, Janice, 2 sister in laws Olivia and Jill and his nephew Jackie and grandnephew Corey. “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” Isaiah 43:2
