Obituary Preview: On April 15, 2022 the Lord called her home…. Martha Margaret Pennington, “Marty”, passed away at Community Hospice at UF Shands in Jacksonville, Florida.
Marty was born in Richwood, West Virginia on May 15, 1940 to her parents Anthony and Lona Keener. She was the youngest of nine children, all who have preceded her in death. Lottie, Mary, Ruby, Jessie, Stella, Daisy, Agatha, and James. She was raised with her nephews Jim and Bill, whom she considered brothers.
Marty and her beloved husband Ben were married for 55 years. They moved to Yulee Florida in 1979. Besides raising their three children, she loved to spend time working in the garden and canning the vegetables they grew. She loved traveling the United States, looking for sharks teeth at Fernandina Beach, and visiting NASCAR tracks. She also enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved watching her two favorite television shows, Mountain Men and Hoarders. Her favorite place to eat was Golden Corral.
Marty is survived by the love of her life, her husband Ben. Also, her three children Kenneth (Michelle) Temple, Glen (Patricia) Temple, and Mitzi (Herb) Jones. Her seven grandchildren are Tonya, Christina, Keith (Sabrina), Holden (Bonnie), Anthony, Glen, and Scott (Shay). Her 10 great-grandchildren are Michael, Sami, Storm, Ashley, Brendon, Brandon, Tyler, Justin, Brantley, and Hunter. She has seven great-great grandchildren. They are Braxon, Harleigh, Alaiya, Marcy, Oakleígh, Elijah, and Gabriel. She is preceded in death by one great-great granddaughter, Skyla. Marty has four stepchildren, Karen, Carol, Bennie Jr, Greg and their families. She also has her bonus family, Orion and Makell Burgoyne and their seven children. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday April 21, at Green Pine Funeral Home and Cemetery, 96281 Green Pine Road, Yulee, Florida 32097. Her viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m. with services following at 1:00 p.m. Following her interment, the family will host a celebration luncheon. “When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure”

She was born June 28, 1944, to Chrissie and Lester Ritter.  She spent most of her professional life as a caregiver.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hank Todd; sisters, Hazel Graham, Shirley Bullock; brothers, Lester Ritter and Harold Ritter; daughter, Lisa Buckland and granddaughter, Heather Turner.
She leaves behind a brother, Carrol Ritter; son, Ronald (Gwen) Mixon, Kenny Ray & Travis; grandson, Steven (Kara) Buckland, Jacob & Rosa: granddaughter, Michelle (Jeb) Cook, Jake; plus many more nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 14, at 12:00 p.m. in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Bishop Larry Osburn officiating.  Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
She will be missed by all but live in our hearts.

Obituary Preview: Lisa Cathleen Mackie Bleshoy was a truly blessed woman. She was born in Quitman Georgia on Dec. !st 1972 and went to Heaven on April 8, 2022. She was preceded in death by her little brothers Tommy Mackie and Jason Mackie.
Lisa is survived by her loving parents Tom and Joy Mackie, adoring children Skye Nguyen, Carmen Bleshoy and Gabriel Bleshoy. and two grandchildren Trevor Aucoin and Willow Aucoin.
Lisa spent her life in Nassau County Florida and was a 1990 Graduate at FBHS, she was in The Mighty Marching Pirates Band and Madrigals .Lisa went on to FSCJ and received  her Associates Degree in the Information technology field.
Lisa was someone who would give you all she had even if she didn't have much. She was an amazing listener who could talk to anyone without fear of judgement.
Lisa loved spending time with family and friends and geo-caching, fishing, swimming as well as her favorite past time gaming with online family.

Obituary Preview: Allison M. Chumley, 58, passed away March 26, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL., after a long illness.
Ms. Chumley was born in Hartford, CT and moved to Jacksonville in 2003. She became a registered nurse specializing in cardiac patients and then transitioned into hospice care. Ms. Chumley had recently become a state certified Hospice Doula to help families within hospice care with the grieving process.
Ms. Chumley was predeceased by her mother, Mary Beth Gaudiana, and her father, Joseph Anthony Gaudiano Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Christina Gaudiana of Fernandina Beach, FL., her canine daughter Polly, extended family in New England, and many friends.
Always ready to lend a hand to friends and worthy causes, Ms. Chumley had an interest in animal welfare. She valued helping disabled children, at-risk youth, and homeless children and their families.
It was her wish to be an organ and tissue donor.

Obituary Preview: Dale Deonas, 72, passed from this life Monday, March 21, 2022, at her Fernandina Beach residence while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 20, 1949, in Hickox, GA.  Dale was only two when her family moved to Fernandina.  She was a member of the 1967 graduating class of Fernandina Beach High School.  She and husband, Nick, met in December of 1965, while he was home on leave from military duty in Germany. Nick returned to Germany and they wrote to each other daily.  Dale was 16 and Nick was 18 when they met.  Nick returned home in April of 1967 and on her eighteenth birthday they married.
They have two children, Jamie (Janet) and Kristy.  Also surviving her are her mother, Vera Blocker and her two sisters, Sue Underwood (Lamar) and Jeannie Blocker-Adams.  She was predeceased by her father Louie Blocker.
Dale attended American Hairstyling Academy and graduated in 1967.  In 1972 she became licensed by the state as an emergency medical technician.  In 1980 she graduated from Florida Real Estate Institute and practiced real estate for 35 years as a property manager.
Nick and Dale, in conjunction with Jimmy and Kathy Elliot owned and operated the skating rink at main beach for almost 10 years.  Dale enjoyed watching hundreds of children grow up there and the many memories that were made there.
Dale was a long-standing member of the Fernandina Woman’s Club and enjoyed serving.  She always had a camera in her hand or at least close by.
She and Nick attended and called The Journey Church home.  The pastors and church family meant so much to her, although for the past two years she was unable to attend church due to her illness.  She and family were always faithful watching every Sunday at home on TV.
Dale was always ready with a joke, a helping hand, and a desire to make people laugh and feel better.  She was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever necessary.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, at The Journey Church, 95707 Amelia Concourse, Fernandina Beach with Pastor Darryl Bellar officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.

Obituary Preview: Paul Kasper, Sr., of Yulee, Florida departed this world on March 5, 2022.
He was born on May 8, 1945 in Orlando, FL and moved to Yulee in 2011 from Jacksonville, FL.  He was a member of Blackrock Baptist Church.
Mr. Kasper, during his career as a professional boxer, was the New England State Champion in the light heavy-weight division during the late 1960’s.
As an artist, he enjoyed painting and drawing.  He coached and volunteered with Highlands Little League Baseball.
He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Kasper who went to her Heavenly Home in 2019.
Mr. Kasper is survived by two sons, Paul Kasper, Jr (Isabelle) and John Kasper, Sr. (Melissa), all of Yulee; and five grandchildren, John, Jr., Caleb, Jacob, Leah and Gabriel.
A celebration of life will take place at Blackrock Baptist Church on Monday March 28th at 6pm.  Officiating will be Pastor John Kasper, SR. and Evangelist Paul Kasper, Jr.

Albert was born in Jacksonville and was a life-long resident.  He was a well-known and sought-after musician and singer who's career spanned over 50 years.  Though he traveled and performed with famous entertainers over the years, Albert best loved making music with his hometown Jacksonville musician friends.  He was admired and respected for his great piano playing ability.
He was predeceased by the wife and love of his life, Neva Lightbody; his grandson, Casey Hoyt;  parents, Al and Violet Lightbody, Sr., and two sisters, Kitty Bell and Barbara Lightbody.
Albert is survived by his daughter, Melissa Hoyt, and many friends and fellow musicians who have had the great pleasure of making music with him for many years.
A Celebration of Life for Albert will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Reeves was born on February 28, 1953 in Bato, Leyte, Philippines and later moved to the United States in 1981. Alejandra and family moved to Yulee, FL in 1996 where she has lived for 26 years.
She was employed by the Ritz Carton on Amelia Island in various capacities including server assistant and hostess in the Café. Alejandra loved working with people and had a passion for service and hospitality.
Alejandra was predeceased by her parents and a great grandson, Julian Scott Deveaux.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, David Reeves; three children, FeMarcel Guinoo (Stacy Stewart), Jeremy Reeves (Rebecca Husler) and Christine Reeves; five grandchildren, Dianna, Jonathan, Eryka, Gary and R. J.; and four great grandchildren, Lilly, Alyzah, Liam and Dean.
Alejandra enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with friends and family. She loved to host and attend Filipino gatherings where you would often find lechon, stacks of lumpia and people singing karaoke. She would provide help, shelter, and other necessities to those in need without reservation. She loved fiercely and had a kind and generous heart.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Christ Fellowship Church, 850987 US Highway 17 in Yulee, FL. Following the service please join the family for food and fellowship in the Church Fellowship Hall.

She was born on February 10, 1942, in Brooker, Florida to Harvey and Wilma Fipps. Maxine and her six siblings mostly grew up in Brooker, Florida.
She got married to David Ronald Lee Sr. at fourteen and had her first child at fifteen. Bonita Dickson (David), Debra Zeluff (Robert) deceased, Ronda Ivey (Randy) and one son David Ronald Lee Jr. deceased. She was widowed at the age of 29.
Her second marriage was to Angus Aldridge (deceased) and they had one daughter, Anita Oliver.
Maxine’s third marriage was to Alton Musgrove, an awesome stepdad and Papa! Alton has three kids, Gwen Mixon (Ronald), Billy Musgrove and Edith Link. So Maxine and Alton Became a family of ten. They were Blessed with fourteen grand-kids and sixteen great grand-kids.
Maxine loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and most of all being with her family. She will greatly be missed, but we know she is with God. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery.  Viewing will be from 10:00 until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home,

Wanda Kilpatrick Phillips, 69, of Hilliard, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday February 18, 2022.  She was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Louis F. Kilpatrick Sr. and Willene K. Goodwin.
Wanda was married to the love of her life and soulmate, Russell (Rusty) Phillips, for 25 years.  She dedicated nearly half her life to working for the Duval County School Board, from where she eventually retired to move on to the next journey of her life, sharing a very successful construction company with her son Kenneth W. Hunter Jr. She loved reading her Bible, singing, playing the piano, shopping, hunting, and sometimes just having fun on the four wheeler with her dog Belle and the kids. Wanda was all about her family and helping others and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hilliard.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Louis F Kilpatrick Jr.  She’s survived by her husband, Russell Phillips, former husband and friend Kenny Hunter Sr, Son, Kenneth W. Hunter Jr. (Sara Ann) daughter, Tonya M. Sawyer (Chris), grandchildren, Sabrina Register (George), Rodney Claxton Jr., Hannah Hunter, Easton Hunter, Ava Carpenter, Aspen Carpenter and great grandchildren, Rosalee Register and Dallas Claxton, sisters Judy Harris and June Constande as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, in the Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends and family Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service, with a reception to follow.

Steve retired from Canadian National Railway as a Trainmaster. He was with this employer for 38 years.
Steve was predeceased by his parents, a bother Herbert Walton, and a sister Martha Ann Baskin.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years Lisa Langham Walton, his aunt Mary Ann Yates, his stepsister and husband Mary Jane and Jerry Sanders, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home in Covington TN with interment at Walton Cemetery in Burlison TN.

He served in the U.S. Army for over 32 years retiring with the rank of Colonel in 1998.
Colonel Shores is survived by his daughter Carla Shores of Wilmington, North Carolina, and his son and daughter-in-law, Skott and Laura Shores of Huntersville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dr. Meghan Richardson, Dr. Victoria Solderitch, Jack Rowe, Allacyn Rowe, Kyle Rowe, Lillian Rowe, Emily Shores, and Cameron Shores; his great grandchildren, K. J. Rowe, Rowen Richardson, Reed Richardson (whom shares his namesake and birthday); and his sister Elizabeth Carter of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Colonel Shores was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Shores, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and his beloved wife Wills.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Fernandina Beach on March 12th 2022, at 2pm.

She grew up in Macon, GA during the depression years on her parents’ farm and moved to Fernandina Beach in 1951.  She was a member of Memorial Methodist Church of Fernandina Beach.
Mrs. Sapp was predeceased by her husband, Ted Sapp, who passed away in 2019 and by her first husband, Clifford “Peavine” Swails, Sr., who passed away in 1975.  Also predeceasing her are brothers, Charles McCook and Horace McCook; sisters, Mayme Sasser, Clyde La Faye Swails and Mildred Fitzgibbons; and her parents, Clyde and Tressie Inez McCook.
She leaves behind one son, Len Swails; daughter in law, Diana Swails; and grandson, Cliff Swails, III; two sisters, Barbara Parham and Tressie Edge; and a special cousin, Frances Anderson.
Ava was a homemaker for many wonderful years.  She worked at the 1878 Steakhouse after the death of husband, Cliff Swails.  She met and married Ted Sapp.  Together they owned and operated the Ice Cream Shop on Centre Street for several years.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, at Hughes Cemetery in Yulee with Rev. Dr. Mark Charles officiating.
