Obituary Preview: Chantelle Jyansea Morris was born to Norma Morris and Leo Garcia on June 23, 1970 in Denver, CO. Natasha remembers helping Channy study for the nursing exam and being her sister’s mannequin when Chantelle was practicing different hairstyles and makeup. Chantelle was always known to be very creative whether it was demonstrated via her sense of style, through decorating or her animated personality. Chantelle passed away on the morning of May 2, 2020. Mya Phawntoinette Barbour - Berry - July 05, 1998 - January 26, 2020

Departed: 01/26/2020 (Englewood)
Obituary Preview: If tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me, I know that you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. And said my place was ready, in heaven far above,
And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life I’d always thought I didn’t want to die. I had so much to live for, so much left to do,
It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all we shared and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while,
I’d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It is usually published in a newspaper, online obituary platform, or funeral home website to inform friends, family, and community members of the person's passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and remember the deceased, while also providing important information to those who knew them. They allow friends and family to pay their respects, share condolences, and celebrate the person's life.

What is included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, achievements, hobbies, and surviving family members. It may also include information about the funeral or memorial service, charity donations, and other relevant details.

Who writes an obituary?

The obituary is usually written by a family member or close friend of the deceased, with the assistance of a funeral home or obituary writer. In some cases, the deceased may have written their own obituary before passing away.

How long does it take to write an obituary?

The time it takes to write an obituary can vary depending on the complexity and length of the notice. On average, it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours to gather information and craft a well-written obituary.

Can I write my own obituary?

Yes, you can write your own obituary. This is often referred to as a "self-written" or "advance" obituary. Writing your own obituary can be a therapeutic way to reflect on your life and ensure that your story is told in your own words.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

Can I update an existing obituary?

In some cases, yes. If new information becomes available or there are changes to funeral arrangements, you may be able to update an existing obituary. Contact the publication or online platform for guidance on their policies.
