Jessica T. Eiles - October 06, 1943 - February 16, 2024

Departed: 02/16/2024 (Salem)
Obituary Preview: Jessica T. Eiles – Salem, NH
Jessica Theresa (Fitzgerald) Eiles, 80 of Salem NH, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her two daughters Korie and Kristine, her grandsons Philip and Brendan and her dog Abbey.
Jessica was born on October 6, 1943 to the late Timothy Fitzgerald and Elizabeth DeCecca Fitzgerald in Wakefield, Massachusetts. She was the middle of three children. James Fitzgerald, (deceased) and is survived by her younger brother, Timothy Fitzgerald, Jr. and his wife Joyce Deveau Fitzerald of Exeter, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
Jessica was a graduate of the Class of 1961 of Wakefield Memorial High School where she formed lifelong friendships.  She earned her first job at Defiance where she spent many years working first at the Malden location and then the Lawrence facility in the sales department with her cousins Florence Martino and Donna (Palumbo) Pappalardo. Jessica prided herself on her lasting service as a pharmacy technician for more than forty years at Salem Pharmacy, Salem Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital and Perrotta’s Super Drug of Lawrence.  She always referred to her coworkers as “the best in the business” and truly enjoyed the friendships she created and kept over the years.
Jessica found joy in the simplest of pleasures.  Her favorite time of the year was the summer, where she could spend hours sitting on her porch talking with her daughters and family.   She loved taking daily walks with her dog, Abbey or walking Hampton Beach.  When she and her extended family would get together it was all about “the old days on Bartley Street,” in Wakefield.  The Annual Fourth of July Parade on Main Street, fireworks at Lake Quannapowitt and cookouts at her brother Jimmy’s house, were among her favorite memories.  She could regularly be found with her family dining on pasta and seafood dishes at Kitty’s in North Reading laughing about the crazy mischief she, her brothers and cousins created as kids.
Jessica loved shopping, getting the 40% coupon deals at Kohls, JC Penney and Macy’s where she would convince her daughters there were great deals to be found. Her local favorite restaurants were T-Bones and the Willow Tree where she met weekly with her close friends celebrating birthdays, end of the work week or just each other’s company. Overall, the company that was most dear to her was her grandsons playing the family card game, Scat, and Family Feud and Seinfeld Trivia with them. She also loved when they would stop in for a quick hello, snack, or a hug from their “Nee.”
Most of all - those who knew her understood that her love knew no bounds, and she dedicated her life to caring for her two daughters, Korie and Kristine. Her memory will be held close within their hearts, forever cherished by all who knew her.   She leaves behind a legacy of family, friends and love.
A private family celebration of her life will be held in the Spring to honor her. A Memorial Service for the public will be announced.

Aline R. Barbin - June 24, 1934 - February 14, 2024

Departed: 02/14/2024 (Salem)
Obituary Preview: Aline Barbin, born Marie Rose Aline Beliveau, 89, passed on Valentine’s Day in Jensen Beach, Florida at Grand Oaks Assisted Living, following a courageous 10+ year battle against Alzheimer's Disease.
Aline was born on June 24, 1934 in Lawrence, MA to Jeannette and Arthur Beliveau. She was predeceased by her husband Henry “Hank” Barbin.  She leaves behind two sisters - Pauline Beaudoin and Claire Harvey; her five children and their spouses - Debra and Dan Antoon, Glenn and Linda Barbin, Wayne Barbin, Gayle and Joe Zydlewski, and Chris Barbin and Lori Csaszar; six grandchildren - Keith and Kevin Antoon, Tara McAfee, Orion Zydlewski, Kate and William Barbin; one step grandchild - Mia Ginocchi; and four great grandchildren - Kylie, Kolton, Avery, and Riley Antoon.
Aline graduated from Saint Anne’s High School at the top of her class. She married Henry R. Barbin on May 19, 1956.  Aline and Hank raised five children, primarily on Butternut Lane in Methuen, MA, and spent their summers waterskiing, fishing, swimming and lobster baking in Naples, Maine on Sebago Lake, where Hank had built the family a vacation home.
First and foremost, Aline was a proud homemaker - focusing on her children and their endless school-age activities; her husband’s work and hobbies; and constantly prioritizing the family's overall well-being. She was always the life of the party, often described as “bubbly.” Aline was, to put it lightly, “endlessly energetic” - never sitting down and always taking care of those around her.  She was an avid card player (rummy and, yes, ‘45s’), with a highly competitive spirit; and she was an irrepressible extrovert - never missing an opportunity to dance, socialize …and dance again.  True to that extroverted personality, she worked as an Avon Lady off and on in the 70’s and 80’s.  Once the kids left home, she pursued her deep interest in being with and taking care of people, working as a banquet manager at the Windsor Mills Restaurant in Dracut, then running the General Store at Point Sebago in Casco, Maine.
Aline and Hank became ‘snowbirds’ in the mid ‘90s, moving to Pine Lake Gardens in Stuart, Florida and spending winters down south and summers in Maine.
She moved into Grand Oaks Assisted Living in 2014 as one of its original residents and quickly made friends who stuck with her to the end.  Her friendship with Ruth Woodbury was endearing and enduring; and it’s estimated that they played over 30,000 hours of cards together over their 10-year friendship!  We will be forever grateful for the team and caregivers at Grand Oaks and for the unwavering support we received from her doctors over the years.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday February 24, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home 42 Main St., Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will follow at Noon at St Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen, MA. To live stream the service, please go to www.0lgcparish.com/live-stream. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
