Bill R. Krimminger - February 08, 1937 - November 05, 2021

Departed: 11/05/2021 (Mount Pleasant)
Obituary Preview: Bill R. Krimminger slipped away peacefully at Tucker Hospice House while his daughter, Lori, slept on the couch just feet away from him on November 5, 2021. A native of Cabarrus County, Bill graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955. After working at several places in the Concord and Charlotte area, he came to the conclusion that he preferred working for himself. Soon after that realization, he started Krimminger Machine Co. Inc. (KMC) on his family’s farmland—where the pig pen was to be precise.
He and his beloved wife, Vergie, built a successful company that thrived for decades. Bill was known for being good to his employees, taking them on annual fishing trips and throwing festive Christmas parties at Lake Lynn Lodge every year.
After selling KMC in the mid-1990s, he got his contractor license and began building houses and developing land. There was nothing he enjoyed more than making deals, and he was good at it. He eventually fulfilled his dream of purchasing a motorhome and traveling across the country with his beautiful wife. Though he loved being “the boss” in all facets of his life, he enjoyed the role of father the most. His daughter, Lori Elizabeth Krimminger Tate, was the light of his life, and he always made certain that she had everything she needed to be successful. That included a college education, as he always joked that he graduated from the “school of hard knocks.”
Bill enjoyed pulling his daughter waterskiing and tubing on Lake Tillery, where he and Vergie owned a vacation cottage for 49 years. Their lake parties are legendary, as are his burgers and barbecue chicken. Bill and Vergie built their dream home in Lake Shore Estates in 1980, complete with a dance floor, so they could throw even more parties.
Though he worked day and night building his business, he always made time to drive his daughter to school and attend her concerts and plays. When she married John Garren Tate, a fellow car enthusiast, Bill was thrilled, even though John was a Ford guy, and Bill was a true Chevy man. Lori will be forever grateful for the love and support her father gave her throughout her life.
Bill’s generous spirit can be seen throughout Cabarrus County and beyond because he believed in sharing all that he had. He attended Cold Springs United Methodist Church most of his life, where he was an active participant in United Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club.
Almost 12 years ago, Bill became a grandfather to Graydon Garren and Margot Elizabeth Tate, The Tater Tots. He was beyond proud of his grandchildren and all of their achievements. He looked forward to having weekly meals with them, in addition to seeing Graydon’s latest Lego creations and hearing Margot sing.
Bill was heartbroken when he lost Vergie to cancer in August 2019. They were married for 60 years, together for 64, and he tried to make the best of life without her. Lori takes comfort in knowing that they are together again, going on more adventures.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Lori Elizabeth Krimminger Tate (John) of Cornelius; grandchildren Graydon Garren and Margot Elizabeth Tate, of Cornelius; brother, Bob Krimminger (Wanda) of Locust; and sister-in law, Brenda Furr Shaver (Ed) of Concord.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vergie Elizabeth Furr Krimminger; niece, Jacquelyn Marie Krimminger; parents, Adam Michael and Annie Harker Krimminger: and half-siblings, James Krimminger, Katherine Krimminger Cheek, Sidney Krimminger and Mary Krimminger Williams.
An outdoor celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, November 14 at 2 p.m. at Cold Springs United Methodist Church, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, NC 28025. Please bring your own chair. There will not be a receiving line due to Covid.
Memorials can be made to Cabarrus Hospice and Palliative Care, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. To honor Bill’s memory, go after your dreams and help others achieve their own.

Martha Lynette Nesbit - December 30, 1948 - October 31, 2021

Departed: 10/31/2021 (Mount Pleasant)
Obituary Preview: After a short period of declining health, Lynn Nesbit, age 72, passed away Sunday surrounded by family.
Memorial service will be held 2pm Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 St. John’s Ch. Rd., Concord NC 28025. Officiated by Rev. Dr. Keith Copeland. The Nesbit family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Martha Lynette Nesbit was born December 30th, 1948 to John and Ruth Bowers of Concord, NC. Despite what her three older brothers may claim, she was definitely the youngest sibling. She grew up humbly on Cold Springs Road in Concord, attending Cold Springs UMC and Mount Pleasant High School, where she played on the girls’ basketball team. She graduated in 1967 and promptly married her high school sweetheart and school bus driver, Donald Ray Nesbit, who lived a few houses down the road. She joined Don at St. John's Lutheran Church where she became a member of the Elizabeth Cauble Circle. She worked as the secretary at St. Johns for many years. She later worked as the textbook coordinator for Cabarrus County Schools, where her meticulous record keeping meant school administrators learned never to doubt her numbers on how many textbooks they had been issued. She retired from the school system in 2011 and devoted herself to being a full time "Nana" to her three grandchildren.
All her life, Lynn invested herself in her family, sacrificing for herself so her children (and her grandchildren) could follow their dreams. She was always the head family cook, tour guide, party planner, and the designated present wrapper. She wanted nothing more than for your stay to be absolutely perfect. Traditions were sacred in Lynn's home - every birthday required a party, a card, and a cake, every Christmas involved a family trip to the mountains to cut a Christmas tree, every Shrove Tuesday involved Fastnachts, and everyone always, always went to the beach every summer, which was her happy place. Her three grandchildren visited her often. Nana's house always had apple slices for Zack, popsicles for Cooper, and circle peanut butter sandwiches for Audrey. The sign on the wall appropriately reads "I can at Nana's." She gave freely from the family garden as well as from her heart, and her engine seemed like it would never stop. Her sudden illness took everyone by surprise and leaves those who loved her with a huge hole in our hearts that will never be completely filled.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Donald Ray Nesbit of Concord; son, Travis Nesbit (and wife Shannon); daughter Ashlyn Jordan (and husband David); grandchildren Audrey Nesbit, Cooper Jordan, and Zack Jordan; brothers Wayne Bowers (and wife Becky), Ronnie Bowers, and Terry Bowers; and sister-in-law Susan Hayes (and husband Jim).
Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Food Pantry where Lynn volunteered for many years or the Sunshine Backpack Ministry at St. John's Lutheran Church, an organization Lynn cared about deeply.
The family wants to send their deepest thanks to the excellent EMS personnel and all the phenomenal nurses and doctors from the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit at Atrium Health Cabarrus who cared for Lynn. They were knowledgeable, caring, and supportive in a difficult time.
