Linda Joyce Dunn - June 02, 1951 - April 14, 2022

Obituary Preview: On April 14, 2022, we lost our Angel on Earth. Linda passed away peacefully after a long illness with Alzheimer’s Dementia.
Linda was born on June 2, 1951, in Amarillo, Texas to Houston and Virginia Frazier.  She was raised by her grandmother; “Mama Wilma”, with which she always had a special bond.
Linda was one of the lucky students who attended Carver Elementary, Jr. and Sr. High Schools.  She always was proud of the fact that she was on the Carver Drill Team.  In 1967, during the school’s integration, she transferred to Palo Duro High School, she graduated in 1969.  Linda went on to continue her education at Amarillo College, where she graduated from nursing school, earning her LVN license.  Linda was a great nurse, she worked for St. Anthony’s Hospital later transferring to BSA.  After twenty-five years of nursing, she retired from BSA.  Linda enjoyed her short retirement but found that retirement at an early age was not for her at the time.  She then went back to her career at Kirkland Court Rehabilitation as a charge nurse for an additional fourteen years.  She worked for Kirkland Court until her health began to fail.
In 1970, Linda was married to Eddie Ray Dunn. To this union, they had two children, Kimberly, and Timothy. Although Linda and Eddie Ray later divorced, they remained friends.
Linda was a devoted daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend to many. She was a protective, strong, and loving mother and grandmother to her children. She blessed everyone she touched.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Virginia, grandmother, Wilma McCoy and brothers, Kenneth, and “Big” Larry.
Linda is survived by her children, Kimberly (Rosco) Flanagan, and Timothy Dunn of Amarillo, TX; siblings, Lawrence “Baba” Frazier (Rita), Donald “PeeWee” Frazier (Frances), Steve (Toni) Frazier all of Amarillo, TX; Ricky (Nancy) Frazier of Grand Prairie, TX and Brenda Frazier of Plano, TX.  Her grandchildren, Kolby, Kolton, Kodey, Keziah, Jalen, Timothy Jr., Jordan, and Nya; nine great- grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Linda was a blessing to everyone. She fought the good fight, and we know she has definitely earned her heavenly angel wings.
We want to thank Jan Warner Adult Daycare for helping us through this season of Linda’s life. We would also like to thank GoodLife Senior Living and Memory Care Center, and Hillside Heights Rehabilitation Center for taking care of mama for the last two years of her life.

He later moved to Amarillo, TX where he finished his education at Palo Duro High School. Dennis was employed at IBP, and he worked other odd jobs until his health fell.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Proby- Randle, his maternal and paternal grandparents, father, Ernest Randle, Sr., brother, Richard Randle, and sisters, Ernestine and Sharon Randle.

Alfonso was a proud graduate of Murray Wright High School and Breithaupt Hoff Culinary Art School, Class of 1984, where he was honored as Summa Cum Laude.
On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, Alfonso’s journey in life ended. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice Fuller (Armstrong), Milton Fuller, Roger Armstrong, and his father, James Webb. He leaves behind to cherish: his beloved wife of 34 years, Paula Armstrong; five children, Alex’zander (Liyah) Armstrong, A’Drein Armstrong, A’Dreonna Armstrong, Toni Sims, and Kolby (Crystal) Barnes; mother, Audrey Webb of Michigan; three sisters, Alicia Armstrong, and Anita Jeter, both of Michigan, and Angel Armstrong-Paige of Maryland; three grandchildren, Zay’den Armstrong, Legend Armstrong, and Tonie Sims, Jr.; mother-in-law, Pauline Britton; and sister-in-law, Angela (Eric) Allison and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends
Alfonso was a dedicated executive chef for well over 25-30 years. His interest in cooking began around 9-10 years of age watching Mama Webb (mother) & Mama Fannie (great-grandmother). Upon moving to Amarillo, he was employed with Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek for a total of 30 years. His most recent employer was The Legacy at Townsquare. He always diligently served all with a passion and the gift of culinary and a smile.
His list of accomplishments includes participating in several fundraising events over the years such as the March of Dimes, WT Boys Basketball, he was known as “Chef,” teaming up with Delvin, winning the first three years of the “Battle of Chefs” Competition in the Restaurant Round Up with the proceeds contributed to all area high school's culinary departments and local nonprofit organizations. He loved catering the Amarillo Toy Drive alongside Chef Terry & Chef Delvin. He was an instructor of cooking classes at Amarillo College. He served on the Board of Trustees for the Opportunity School.
He was also a private chef for several well-known medical professionals and a plethora of people that enjoyed the flavor of love through his cooking. So many times, on this culinary journey, he worked alongside his mother-in-law, Pauline, preparing delectable dishes. In his past time, he was an avid lover of Jazz (WJZZ) and old-school cars, a love he shared with Uncle Tony, his boys, Antyon, and special friend, Delvin. He served the Lord with gladness; a faithful Deacon of 15 years at the Temple of Praise Community Church.

His favorite sports teams were the Dallas Cowboys and The Los Angeles Lakers. He was blessed with a large and loving family whom he enjoyed spending time with. Sherman was an educator at heart and was always there to help solve a problem no matter how big or small. He will be deeply missed by anyone who knew him.

She married the love of her life, Mr. Willie Asberry, in 1965. May of 2015 marked their 50th wedding anniversary, before Mr. Asberry went home to be with the Lord. Now they are reunited in Heaven.
Preceded in death by: Her husband, Willie E. Asberry; parents Alma and Letha Coleman; siblings Billy Joe Coleman, Charlie Coleman, Ethel Willis, Earline Garvine, Letha Bullock, Odessa Polk; great granddaughter Brittney Watson; great-great granddaughter Za’Kari Marquez.

Obituary Preview: Serenity Janae Flores, age 13, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Serenity was born on March 15, 2008, in Amarillo, Texas. Even though Serenity was taken from us before her time, she lived her life to the fullest every single day.
Serenity loved dancing and doing TikToks, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends. She loved playing volleyball and spending time outdoors. Serenity loved being around her family and friends. She was the life of every party and knew how to make everyone laugh.
Most importantly, Serenity had a deep love for her family. She enjoyed playing video games with her brother, Jayden and crawling in bed with her Grandma and Grandpa. Anyone lucky enough to know Serenity loved her and will forever cherish the memories held in our heart.
Serenity leaves behind her mother, Kendra Flores, father, Jayshon Dedrick, her siblings Essence Fleeks, Ariana Jones, and Jayden Jones, her nieces, Heaven Johnson and A’manie Johnson, her grandmother, Christy Flores, grandfather, Joe Flores, and great grandmother, Vicky Guinn. She is also survived by her aunt, Macy Flores, her uncle, Brandon Conner, and aunt Amy Conner, and cousins Noah Conner, Nevaeh Conner, Bravon Conner, Kennedy Conner, and great uncle Kevin Conner. Serenity "Renny" will be truly missed!
The family is having a candlelight vigil and balloon release on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Sam Houston Park at 6:30 p.m. If you choose to bring balloons, the family is asking that you bring purple in honor of Domestic Violence awareness.

Shurlie Horn - August 18, 1947 - February 09, 2022

Obituary Preview: Missionary Shurlie Horn (Miles) was born to the late Otis Miles and Beatrice Turner on August 18, 1947, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She attended the Lubbock and Amarillo educational schools. Later in life, at the age of 54, she went to obtain two college degrees, first from Amarillo College with an Associate degree in Child Development Early Childhood (2002) and, at age 62, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She finished her race on February 9, 2022, in this life to begin her new home over in Glory.
Her employment begun with Myers Drumstick. She spent her young adult years at Levi’s, and later retired from North Heights Alternative School after 19 years. She then worked part time at Wal-Mart on Grand Street for 4 years until her health begin to waiver. Raised in a Christian setting, she accepted Christ as her personal savior under the Reverend Bishop Blake at Faith Tabernacle, where she served for many years and obtained her Missionary license.
In 1993, she united with Bishop James Mims and New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. She stayed working for the Lord: Sunday School teaching, helping with Children's church, assisting in the church culinary, being a Usher (a doorkeeper of God’s House), continuing her Missionary work, and preaching/sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Mary was a generous, loving, and kind woman who welcomed everyone into her heart and home. Mary enjoyed studying the bible and fellowshipping with others. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. Everyone who knew and loved Mary will remember her for her ability to give grace and her undying love and caring for them.

Mary was a vibrant and caring woman. Mary was also very spiritual and shared her love for God with those around her. She is well known for her radiate smile and laughter that could fill the room. Mary is known for being smart and determined. After the loss of her father, she experienced different challenges in life. Even through these challenges she was known as a fighter and kept her faith in God.
Mary departed this life January 18, 2022. She preceded in the afterlife with her grandmother, Mary Joe Brockington; grandfather, Jessie Brockington; father, Allen Bernard Ford, uncle, Robert Lorenzo Cook; aunt, Tuwana Cook; sister, Anita Ford.
