Obituary Preview: Adam Van Avery, born January 30th, 1988 , passed away at home in the early morning of February 21st.
Adam is survived by his father, Gregory Van Avery and Mother Janice Gorman (Peter). His sisters, Misty Malatino (Jeremy) and Nicole O’Brien. His four nieces and two nephews, his Grandmother as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Adam enjoyed being in the great outdoors and camping under the stars. He loved fishing, hiking and being a jokester every chance he got. Adam’s main mission in life was to make people laugh and his smile was contagious.
The love of his faith and his church got him through many tough years of his life.
The passing of Adam has left a huge hole in many hearts and we know wherever he is, he will continue to share his love.  Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday March 16, 2024 from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. at the Gloversville Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078.

Born on March 28, 1932 in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Irene Kibler of Wells, NY. She grew up in Wells, and graduated from school there.
She married Stanley R. Brower on August 15, 1953. They were married almost 60 beautiful years. Stanley passed away on October 28, 2012.
Darlene was a member of the North Main Methodist Church along with her husband and son. She would often help with the secretarial needs of the church.
Darlene is survived by her son Mark Brower of Gloversville, granddaughter Caliope Brower of Gloversville, sister Ella Long of Gloversville, and her sister Beth of Maryland. As well as nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Her kindness touched many people. If you were fortunate enough to know her, she always had a smile and kind word for you. She will be missed dearly.

She was born in Danbury, Connecticut on April 1, 1943, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Eunice Pettit Robinson. Lorraine married Frank Gilotti in Brewster, NY they lived in Utica together for several years before moving to Amsterdam where they were married for just over 50 years until his passing in 2013. Lorraine was proudly employed for over 15 years at Samco Manufacturing in Gloversville. She was a dedicated worker. She enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the casino to try her luck on the
slot machines, quilting and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Dawn Hall (Rex) of Schenectady, Anthony Gillotti(Michele) of Amsterdam, Frank Gillotti(Lori) of Caroga Lake and Robbin Meldrim(Jamie) of Orr, MN; a nephew John Pratt and loving companion Clayton Templeton; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family
and the Carmignanis in Danbury, CT.

Obituary Preview: Dean Richard Lynaugh, 66, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away on December 17, 2023 at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Dean was born in Gloversville, NY on November 19, 1957 to the late Richard and Hazel (Earl) Lynaugh. He graduated from Johnstown High School with the class of 1976. He then joined the United States Navy for 6 years. He was stationed in Groton, CT, Chicago and San Diego. He returned to NY in 1982. After a call from a friend that worked in California on computer storage systems he was off again. He started working for the Oracle Storage Systems in California, then moving to Littleton CO and settling in Gilbert, Arizona. He retired from this company on June 1st 2022. He was a loyal man with a great sense of humor who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Aside from his parents, Dean is survived by his loyal companion Susan Kent, who completed and complimented his life. His faithful dog Molly; brother David (Eileen) Lynaugh; nephew Matthew(Marie) Lynaugh and many cousins.
In keeping with Dean’s wishes there will be no funeral services held. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Liver Foundation, SPCA or a contribution of your choice.

Emily Davison, age 94 passed away on December 16, 2023 in Ocala, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Minnie Durand. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth, and 4 sisters, Adah Clemente, Evelyn Malone, Lois Rudy, Janet Spaeth, and 1 brother William Durand.
She leaves behind her 6 children, Stephen of Mayfield, NY, Mike (Josie) of Chile, NY. Connie Anderson (Ronnie DiDonato) of Ocala, FL, Kevin (Debbie) of Augusta, SC. Terry Horton (Rich) of Mayfield, NY, and Patrick (Nancy) of Gloversville, NY and 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Emily retired for the State of NY in 1981, where she was the secretary to the Director of Tryon School for boys. She was a long-standing member of the Mayfield United Methodist Church where she attended services regularly until moving to Florida to enjoy the pleasant climate. In Florida she met her companion of five years, Donn Petrack. Donn passed away in November 2015.
Emily could be the life of the party with her quick wit and knack for telling jokes. She was an avid reader. Emily enjoyed gardening and loved to play scrabble, Boggle, and cards with anyone willing to give her a competitive game.
Her humor and zest for life have been passed down to her children and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on February 7, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gloversville Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave, Gloversville where a Memorial Celebration of her life service will be held at 1 p.m. with burial to be scheduled in the spring of 2024 in the Mayfield Cemetery next to her husband.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Mayfield United Methodist Church or the Mayfield Fire Department, both very dear to both Emily and Ken. Obituary Preview: Claude J. Faville, age 91 of Gloversville passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023 at The Mountain Valley Hospice House with his loving family by his side.
Born in Gloversville New York on May 8, 1932, he is the son of the late Claude R. and Victoria (Mazur) Faville.
He attended Gloversville Schools then eventually went back and earned his GED. He was enlisted in the Unite States Army in 1950 until 1954, during which time he served in Germany. He was a retired Sargent of the Gloversville City Police Department. He was a member of the school board and avidly rallied for the community to be able to have say in the city’s education department. He was a founder of the Association for retired police and fireman. Claude also served as Supervisor of the 6th Ward and in 2000 was Fulton County’s Supervisor. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and will be sorely missed by a community well served as well as his loving family.
On July 23, 1955 he was married to Norma Rogers, they shared a union of 68 years. Together they raised their children, Laura Logan of Sarasota, FL, Scott Faville (Julie) of Gloversville and Susan Bishop (Lowell Cote) of Plattsburgh; grandchildren, Kara Mosenthin (Jason), Jenny Cerasia (Anthony), Scott Faville,II, Aimee Faville and Michelle Besaw (Justin); great grandchildren, Camden, Lincoln and Sonny. He is also survived by brothers, Robert Faville and Lester Faville (Sandra) along with many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Charles E. (Bizzy) Fridley Jr. passed away Saturday November 4, 2023 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born December 24, 1970 in Tucson, Arizona to June and Charles Fridley Sr. He was a good little boy and as a toddler loved to put on little dances in front of everyone. He will be best remembered for his kindness, his willingness to help anyone if needed, and especially his respect for the elderly and lending a helping hand to them.
He will always be remembered as a hard worker who enjoyed the simple things in life, hanging with friends, playing a game of horseshoes and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
He is survived by his mother June (Duane) Chamberlain, his children Natasha (Ethan) Malagisi, Elizabeth Fridley, Christian Fridley and Nikia Fridley. Sister Gabrielle Chamberlain, step-brother Duane Chamberlain and Bizzy’s long-time partner Amy Colson. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Keeping with what he would have wanted, there will be no calling hours but a celebration of life that will be announced next summer.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cardiac Care division of Albany Medical Center for their loving care and support.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lenore Joslin, a son, Burt Joslin and daughter in law Kristina Helms of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kaylee Joslin, Eaddie Jobe and Jared Joslin, Alayna Helms, Elijah Helms, Cameron Helms and Rylen Helms all of Oklahoma; brother, Rick Joslin of AZ; sister, Deborah Stratton and niece, Tammy Galleske both of Wisconsin. He is also survived by mother in law, Beverly Snyder of Gloversville and best friend/brother, Barry Bain of FL.

She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie Rosa Wilson.
She was born March 16, 1937 on the Mountain Road and the Town Of Northampton. She attended Northville and Mayfield schools and was a lifetime resident of the area.  She married Edward E Schrader on April 20, 1957. They were married almost 50 years Edward passed away January 2, 2007.
She was employed at Kervita Handbags and she also worked at Espey Electronics for 33 years in quality control and as a supervisor. She loved camping, especially a good camp fire at any time, playing cards and games with family and friends. Ruth loved everything Christmas, decorations and lights starting in November straight through the new year.
She is survived by four sons, James E.  Schrader of Gloversville, Robert Schrader of Gloversville David (Kim) Schrader of Mayfield and Randy (Tracey) Schrader of Saranac Lake; grandchildren David Schrader, Jr., Christopher (Ashley) Schrader, Nicholas Schrader, Dylan(Savannah) Schrader; great grandchildren Mariah, Kristen, Andrew, McKenzie, Hunter, Connor, Christopher,Jr., Milo and Kira. She is also survived by her twin sister, Rita Van Avery and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Floyd and Minnie Rosa Wilson and husband Edward Ruth is predeceased by her siblings Martha Crowter, Bernice Clark, Pearl Shannon, Douglas Wilson, Jenny Tanner, Gladys Wilson, George Wilson, Cola Wilson, and Glenn Wilson.

Mitchell J. Richards, born on April 16, 1951 in Gloversville, NY to Charles J. Richards and Nancy E. Mansfield, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023, at Wells House Nursing Home in Johnstown, NY. After obtaining his GED, Mitchell humbly and courageously served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972. He was a proud veteran whose service was a testament to his love for his country and a reflection of his willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. He then worked for many years at Schenectady Chemical in Rotterdam Junction, NY.
He found solace and joy in nature whenever he had the chance. He delighted in the serenity of swimming, the camaraderie of camping trips, and the thrill of hunting – hobbies that allowed him to appreciate the beauty that surrounded him.
Mitchell recently lost his beloved partner, Carolyn R. Hoyt. Their relationship was filled with love and companionship. May they find eternal peace together.
Mitchell's memory will forever be cherished by his loving daughter, Nancy Bryant (Andre) and his granddaughter Cadence, who reside in NC; his siblings: Marcia Ladeau (John) of Piseco, Agnes Richards of Gloversville, Jeff Richards (Lynn) of FL, and Chuck Richards (Mary) of Ballston Spa; and the loving members of the Hoyt family including Cathy Dwyer (Richard), Amber Rumrill (Ivan Goodbread) and Noah Rumrill.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Mitchell J. Richards at a funeral service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 25, at Gloversville Funeral Service, 4 Second Avenue, Gloversville, NY.
Mitchell will be laid to rest at Ferndale Cemetery in Johnstown, NY. While his presence will be greatly missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know and love him.

Obituary Preview: Patricia A. Crowley It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Patricia A. Crowley on Friday, June 16, 2023, comfortably at home with her loving family by her side and assisted in her care by Mountain Valley Hospice in
Gloversville. Born Patricia Anne Downes on July 30, 1933, the daughter of George and Ethel Mae Borst Downes, she lived most of her
childhood life in the Canajoharie area and attended the Canajoharie School District. She worked as a waitress in several restaurants in Canajoharie and the surrounding areas, including the Elm Tree Hall and the Canajoharie Hotel, where she served Senator John F. Kennedy prior to his presidency. She also worked at other local manufacturing businesses, including Winning Slipper Co., Knox Gelatin and Crescent Leather. In the 1980’s she moved to Nashua, New Hampshire, where she worked at Teradyne Corporation before returning to New York and
retiring from her final job in the kitchen at the Fulton County Infirmary. As the matriarch of our family, she was always hosting large family gatherings for holidays and special occasions, including this past Christmas where she decided to host a sit-down dinner for 20 family members because she believed that it would be her final Christmas on this earth. Most recently, she enjoyed traveling, including trips to Lake George and Skaneateles in New York; Sugar Hill, Georgia; Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (to fulfill her request to go to
Dollywood); Charlotte, North Carolina, and two cruises to the Bahamas. She was a member of the Broadalbin Senior Citizens and the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center in Johnstown, participating in many bus trips with these groups. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially her favorite card game, Skip-Bo and doing jigsaw puzzles. One of her favorite things to do was playing Bingo at the Turning Stone Casino, where she made several close friends over the years.  She became the mascot for a local pool league where she attended several weekly games, cheering on the team two of her daughters and granddaughter played on and especially enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing pool at the Midway Bar & Grill. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Patty” to many people in this circle
and will be missed dearly by them all. She was looking forward to, and planning, her 90th birthday party on July 30th , however, her health declined so quickly
that our family had a “mock” 90th birthday party for her the day before her passing (sorry we tricked you Mom). Survivors include her daughters, Geraldine Anne Schreppel (Robert Fleming), Robin Anne Kane and Michelle Anne Tirado; granddaughters, Desiree Anne Tabor (Timmy), Krystal Anne Kane (Seth), Alexis Nicole Tirado (Sarah); her adopted granddaughter, Stephanie Lee Ovitt Anne Kane, who also assisted with her care; her brother, James F. Downes (Jeanne), four great grandchildren, Charlotte Anne Tabor, Beau Jacob Lee Tabor, Josephine Leslie Anne Tabor, and Kalle Alyssa “Anne” Elliott (Jason); step-children, Glenn W. Crowley (Lois) and Glenda M. Gill (Bruce) and step-grandchildren, Stacey Parsons (Matt), Kelly Silva (Robert), Jody Frederick (Bob), Derek Gill (Candice), Daniel Gill (Katie). She has an extended family of Downes’ in and around the Canajoharie area and is also survived by other step-children who live
outside of the immediate area; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her cat babies, Buddy and Chloe also survive. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Glenn R. Crowley; her son, Anthony M. Guadagno,the 3 rd ; her sisters,
Beverly June Downes and Virginia Mae Downes; her brothers, William R. Downes and Richard K. Downes. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a small closing service to beginning at 5:45 p.m. A memorial gathering will take place immediately after the service downstairs at the

Records as a record tester. She enjoyed playing Bingo, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and going out to dinner with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Anthony & Helen Unger, she is predeceased by her husband, Calvin B. Boyd and a son, Aaron Martin. Survivors include sons, Victor (Robyn) Martin of N.J. and Jim (Linda) Martin of TX; grandchildren, Santana, Brianna, Sheena, Dylan, Samantha, James and Michael; honorary granddaughter, Lacie. He has left behind his wife Jennifer Warner and four children; Dallas Boyer, Austen Warner, Jorgia Warner, and Murphy Warner and one granddaughter; Janiyah Boyer.
He is also survived by his brothers; James Warner Jr., Chris Warner (Amanda), Robert Warner, TJ (Britney), Ed Warner (Kaitlyn), John Warner and sisters; Theresa Sleezer (Todd), Bobbie Jo Warner, Melanie Warner (Clay), Rose Langlois (Nate), Desiree McCraw (Mike), Missy Beddow as well as a very big family and friends.
James enjoyed the Red Sox, and the Philadelphia Eagles as well as roofing, hunting, fishing and talking crap to everyone, always making people laugh. He was a friend to many and loved by all. This has left a hole in the hearts of many.
James wished to be cremated and a remembrance service will be held at a later date.

Wanda had a devout love of cats and was affectionately known as the cat lady. She took in many strays over the years and provided them with care and love.
Survivors include her long time companion Joe O'Neill, sister Barbara Carden (Kenneth), brother Gordon Searles ( Priscilla), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Crystal Searles.
She is predeceased by a niece Kiley Carden.
Arrangements are in the care of Gloversville Funeral Service, 4 Second Ave. Gloversville, NY 12078. Cremation took place at the Parkview Crematorium in Schenectady. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Of all things Carol could fill her days doing, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Especially her great grandson Noah, who was the light of her life. Her loving family includes her lifelong partner, Mitchell Richards of Johnstown; Daughters, Catherine Dwyer (Richard) of Johnstown and Wendy Merwin (Mike) of SC; Stepchildren, Shawn Hoyt, Stephanie Hoyt and Nancy Richards; grandchildren, Amber Rumrill (Ivan Goodbread), Michael Merwin and Cadence Bryant; great grandson Noah Rumrill. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Sweeney, June Chamberlain (Duane), Ethel Yates, Edward Fetrow (Sheila), Stanley Fetrow (Karen) and a special cousin, John Emkin. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, Frank Fetrow. She was married to Larry Hallenbeck on April 18, 1954. Marian started working in the Dime Store in Northville at age 16. She was also a long time employee of Hubbs Point Restaurant. She began working for NA Taylor (Taylor Made) in 1977 until her retirement in 2000. When younger she was involved in the Local Grange. Marian lived in Petoff Gardens Apartments in Vails Mills for more than 20 years. She enjoyed many activities while living there, including playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, bingo, group dinner gatherings and visiting with her neighbors. Marian was predeceased by her husband, Larry, who she was married to for 59 years; her daughter and son-in-law Beth A. and Gary L. Freeman; all her brothers and sisters, and their husbands and wives. These include Charles and Grace Loucks, George and Marion Loucks, Raymond and Rose Loucks, Harry and Pernie Loucks, Norman and Barbara Loucks, Amy and Homer Ellsworth, Doris and Ed Gray and her grandson in law, Frank Freeman. He graduated from Wilbur Lynch High School in 1963. He then attended Dutchess County Community College, where he majored in Art followed by Fulton Montgomery Community College. He was happily married to his wife Barb (Woznack) Buczek for nearly 47 years. Dick is predeceased by his mother and father. Survivors include his wife Barb (Wozy) Buczek, son Kevin C. Buczek (Liz Molloy) of Durham, N.C., daughter Sheri L. Buczek (Michael Wilson Jr.) of Mayfield, N.Y., grandsons Dylan and Trenton Smith of Mayfield, N.Y., brother William C. Buczek (Barbara) of Morrisville, Vt., nephew Brian Buczek (Samantha) of Morrisville, Vt., and aunts, uncles and cousins. Dick was employed in his earlier years by G.E. in Schenectady, N.Y., and later by Antlers and Rolling Hills Country Club, from which he later retired in 2005, in Amsterdam, N.Y. Dick was an avid sportsman favoring hunting, fishing, gardening and golf. He delighted in teeing golf balls across the river to the neighbors chuckles on the other side. He was also well known for being the best Santa ever. His most notable attribute was that he as a gifted artist and woodworker. He owned several businesses and gift shops where he sold his wares, including most recently, Stones N Bones at his home. Dick would be happy to know that you took time to teach a children about the great outdoors while spending time with them in nature. The family welcomes all to a visitation at Northville Funeral Services Inc. on Wednesday, February 15th from 4-6 p.m., located in Northville, N.Y. A future celebration of life is being planned. The family wishes to thank everyone at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, N.Y., for their care and compassion.
