Carole Katopes - November 23, 1950 - March 03, 2024

Departed: 03/03/2024 (Selden)
Obituary Preview: Carole Ann Katopes (Brennan), 73, of Selden, New York passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
Born on November 23, 1950, Carole grew up in Queens, NY, and graduated from Bayside High School. She was the beloved daughter of Dorothy and William Brennan. She grew up alongside her sisters Barbara, Susan, and Nancy.
Carole was the heart and soul of every gathering. She was the life of the party to everyone who met her, and a rock to those who knew her best. Her infectious energy could turn any moment into a celebration. Her dancing and (sometimes off-key) singing of “A Pretty Girl” could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
In 1971, Carole married the love of her life, Charles Katopes Sr. A few years later, their life was blessed with the birth of their three beautiful children: Dr. Charles (Beth) Katopes, Danielle (Dan) Crucet, and Heather (Claudia) Katopes.
Carole's love knew no bounds, especially when it came to her family. She was the glue that held everyone together. Whether it was cracking jokes, or making silly faces, Carole's infectious spirit made everyone feel seen and loved.
Carole’s world revolved around her cherished grandchildren: Brody, Brennan, Andrew, Stella, Annabelle, Ava, Natali, and Nicolas, whom she adored with all of her heart. An avid dog lover, Carole treated her furry companions as her children, showering them with affection and care (and sometimes too many table scraps).
Renowned for her culinary skills, Carole often opened her home to family and friends. To this day, many talk fondly of her home being the go-to destination for mouthwatering meals and warm hospitality. Her Italian sauce and manicotti were legendary, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of tasting her creations.
Carole will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a woman who brought laughter, love, and warmth to all who had the privilege of being loved by her.
Rest in peace, dear Mumum. We love you more. We love you so much much much.
