Obituary Preview: Jackie Lynn Isley, 53, of Broughton, IL passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL.
She was born July 16, 1968 in Harvey, IL the daughter of James L. Medley & Linda (Johnson) Medley, who both survive.  She married Russell Isley, Jr. who survives.  Although they later divorced, Jackie and Russell continued to be close friends.
Jackie worked for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and most recently for Wisconsin Physicians WPS as a Healthcare Manager.  She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Jackie is survived by both parents James & Linda Medley of Broughton, ex-husband and friend Russell Isley, Jr. of Broughton, a son Patrick Wayne Medley of Broughton, a daughter Samantha Ann Nicole Isley of Broughton, a brother Michael Medley & significant other Dianna of Indianapolis, IN; 2 step-sons: Jarred Isley and Nathaniel Isley, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents:  Dick & Dorothy Johnson and Annie & Orville Medley.
There will be no formal services for Jackie Lynn Isley at this time, but a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Paul was born December 18, 1953 in McLeansboro to Gilbert and Maxine (Johnson) Martin.  He later married his wife, Mary Martin, who survives.
Paul worked as a general laborer.  He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the McLeansboro American Legion Post #106 as well as the McLeansboro Eagles Aerie #2699.  He loved fishing, camping, and spending time with his friends and family.
Paul is survived by his wife: Mary Martin, three step-children: Christy Joanne White, Maryanne White, and Carman Gantz, four step-grandchildren: James W. Myers, Joseph Myers, Kasey Gantz, and Rain Lamb, and two brothers: Bob Martin and Dale Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: David Martin and Dean Martin, and one sister: Mildred Ray.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hopewell Cemetery near McLeansboro with Pastor Rick Floyd officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by the McLeansboro American Legion Post #106 and a United States Army Honors Team.  Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Regina Fern McDonald, 98, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Hamilton Memorial Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in McLeansboro.
Regina was born January 22, 1924 in Ardmore, OK the daughter of Frank & Selma Alford.  On November 22, 1939 she married Virgil E. McDonald, who preceded her in death on December 16, 1995.
Regina previously worked at a dress shop in McLeansboro, as a seamstress at the Elder Manufacturing factory in McLeansboro, she owned & operated her own Ceramics shop both in Illinois and in Louisiana, and was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Blooming Grove Baptist Church, which she was actively involved with in her younger years.  She was also a member of the Hamilton County Extension Homemakers Association.  She enjoyed making ceramics and sewing.  She especially enjoyed giving one of her ceramic pieces away to a child to paint.  She enjoyed spending time with friends & family.
Regina is survived by 2 sons: Donald (Mary) McDonald of Murphysboro, IL & Ronald (Shirley) McDonald of Cookeville, TN; a daughter Jane Sandusky of McLeansboro, 6 grandchildren: Tina (Bruce) Gerecke, Marty Eugene (Mary) McDonald, Kyle (Amy) McDonald, Gregory Scott (Jackie) Sandusky, Rhonda (Dave) Powell, and Cindy (Stewart) Phelps, 9 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Frank (Nancy) Alford of Longview, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by Frank & Selma Alford, husband Virgil E. McDonald, brother Richard Alford, sister Molly Busby, and a great-granddaughter Stephene Phelps.
Funeral services for Regina Fern McDonald will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Brother Bill Miller officiating.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Gholson Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Blooming Grove Cemetery in McLeansboro.

Wendy Sue Walsh - September 03, 1965 - April 12, 2022

Obituary Preview: Wendy Sue Walsh, 56, of McLeansboro, IL passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022 in McLeansboro.
She was born on September 3, 1965, the daughter of Warren & Elizabeth Nelson.
Wendy was a cat lover and ran her own cat sanctuary, where she also took care of various other animals.  The most important thing in her life was her children & grandchildren.  She always did everything she could to help them, putting their needs over her own in order to better their lives.  Wendy never met a stranger, and was always happy to have a conversation with both friends and strangers.  She had a passion for music, she greatly enjoyed listening to music often and she attended multiple live concerts over many years.  She was also an advocate for the Chiari Malformation Community, participating in events and activities to raise awareness.  She was of the Christian faith and attended various local churches over the years.
Wendy is survived by 2 daughters:  Karen Walsh of Evansville, IN and Jennifer Walsh of Hatfield, IN; 4 sons:  William “Billy” Walsh of Gambrill Hills, MD; Matthew Walsh of Virginia Beach, VA; Bradley (Shayna) Walsh of McLeansboro, IL; and Alex (Laci) Huffstutler of Mt. Vernon, IL; 4 grandchildren:  Chaz Garnett, Kamden Walsh, Raine Perrino, and Westyn Monroe, 5 sisters:  Cindy (Chris) Katsenes of Chicago, IL; Terry Osborne of Chicago, Brenda Carlson of Chicago, Cheryl (Tom) Cusimano of Richardson, TX; and Tracy (Mark) Tucker of Minnesota; a brother Jeff Becker of Chicago, best friend & cousin Kendra King of Wisconsin, sister-in-law Laurie Becker of Chicago, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband William Walsh, and a brother Greg Becker.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date in Chicago, IL.

Obituary Preview: Rex Herbert Camden, 88, went to Heaven peacefully at the Hamilton Memorial Rehab and Health Care Center on Monday, April 11, 2022. He was born in Sullivan, Indiana on June 15, 1933 to the late Clovis and Ethel (Beck) Camden.
Rex worked as a foreman for Eads Coal Mine in Belle Rive, IL. After the mine closed, Rex worked as a custodian and bus driver for Hamilton County Unit #10 Schools until he retired in 2003. He was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge #935 in Coshocton, OH and a member of The B.P.O.E. #1882 Elks Lodge in McLeansboro, IL for 48 years. Rex loved spending time with family and friends. He was always ready for a good card game.   Rex is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Hollingsworth) of 70 years; a son, Phillip Camden of Belle, WV; 2 daughters: Pennie Anselment (Jay Kennedy) of Dahlgren, IL; and Paula Aydt (Tim) of Findlay, OH; 4 grandchildren: Stacy McLaughlin (Toby), Jacquelyn Alberter (Eric), Justin Aydt (Katie) & Nate Aydt (Chelsea); 8 great grandchildren: Lucas, Alaina, Brenna, Levi, Landon and Maren Aydt and Camdyn & Emmie Alberter.
He was preceded in death by both parents, a twin brother Lex Camden, sisters Peggy Duviver and Barbara Simpson, son-in-law Richard Anselment, a daughter-in-law Bev Lively Camden, and a great grandchild Leyan Michael.
Graveside funeral services for Rex Herbert Camden will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro, IL with Pastor Alan Monroe officiating.  A public visitation will be held prior to the graveside service from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Phillis Rossine Kirsch - April 29, 1946 - April 01, 2022

Obituary Preview: Phillis Rossine Kirsch, 75, of McLeansboro, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at McLeansboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born April 29, 1946 in Eldorado, Illinois to Sam and Maxine (Feltner) Floyd.  On March 2, 1973, at the St. Clement’s Catholic Church in McLeansboro, Rossine married Donald Marvin Kirsch, who survives.  Rossine had many jobs throughout her lifetime.  She worked at the Elder Shirt Factory and Teffertiller’s, both in McLeansboro.  She also worked as a cook at the truck stop in Burnt Prairie and at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.  Rossine had worked as a school bus driver and most recently as a sales associate for Wal-Mart.  She was always a proud farm wife.  Rossine was of the Christian faith and when her children were growing up, she always helped out at church and in the PTO.  She also served as a secretary for the North American Sheep Dog Society.
Rossine is survived by her husband Donald Kirsch of McLeansboro, three children: Twyla Hungate of McLeansboro, Christopher (Angela) Lueke of Carmi, and Jason (Mari) Kirsch of McLeansboro, seven grandchildren: Danielle Corbett of McLeansboro, Justine Chambliss of Wayne City, Hannah Lueke and Lucas Lueke, of Carmi, and Keagan Johnson, Chloe Kirsch, Oliver Kirsch of McLeansboro, 4 great-grandchildren and one sister: Irene Zenthoefer of Lockport, LA.  Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her first husband Ronald Lueke, brother Philip Floyd, sisters Violet Lasater and Arlene Riley, and infant brother Billie Floyd.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10:30am at Old Springer Cemetery near McLeansboro with Pastor Rick Floyd officiating.  Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.  For those attending the graveside service, a meal will be held immediately following at the Laborers’ Local 1197 Union Hall at 109 W. Market St. in McLeansboro.

Obituary Preview: Ladonna Sue Baker, 75, a resident of Newton, Illinois, and formerly of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney, IL.
She was born January 31, 1947 in McLeansboro, IL to Woodrow Ingram and Mary Vincent.  Ladonna worked at General Tire in Mt. Vernon on an assembly line for many years.  LaDonna loved gardening, especially growing many varieties of flowers, and took great pride in creating her own flower bed designs and arrangements.
Ladonna is survived by two daughters: Denise (Charles Coffey) Baker of Newton, IL and Mary Sue Cline of Mt. Vernon, IL; one son Kevin (Noreen) Baker of Newton, IL; one sister Norma Weaver of Hoopeston, IL; three step siblings: Russell and Terry Ingram, both of McLeansboro, IL, and Linda Hunsinger of Carmi, IL; eight grandchildren: Nathan Baker, Ryan Baker, Christopher Baker, Kristin Baker, Jessica Garner, Kevin Baker, Casey Lyn Morris and Rebekah Bergeson.  Thirteen great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Daniel Baker Sr.; two sons: Richard Daniel Baker Jr. and Kerry Gavin Baker; sister Reta Ann Ingram; and two brothers: James Lee Vincent and Anthony Vincent.
Funeral services for Ladonna Sue Baker will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 2 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest at the Ten Mile Cemetery near McLeansboro following the funeral service.

Nathaniel was of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, skateboarding, and reading.  His favorite book was To Kill A Mockingbird.  He also loved spending time with his family, entertaining his younger family members, and having breakfast with his grandfather, Gordon.
He is survived by his parents: Pam (Page) Ridings of Marion, AR and Lyndon Ridings of Marion, AR, his grandparents: Patti and Gordon Page, of Dahlgren, IL and Dorothy Urfer of Elgin, IL, one brother: Lenny (Sandy) Ridings of Benton, IL, one sister: Lee (Courtney) Ridings of West Memphis, AR, four uncles: Stephen (Lori) Page of Sycamore, IL, Michael Page of Dahlgren, IL, Dan (Ava) Ridings of Sweden, and Thomas (Sara) Ridings of Bartlett, IL, two aunts: Kathy Valentini and Karen Behm, one nephew, Kyren Ridings of Marion, AR, and one niece Rylee Ridings of Benton, IL.  Several cousins, great-uncles, and great-aunts also survive.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Urban Ridings, who a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.  Nathaniel always admired and respected his military service to his country.

Sherri Ann Webber - August 17, 1965 - March 19, 2022

Obituary Preview: Sherri Ann Webber, 56, of McLeansboro, passed away suddenly from a heart attack on March 19, 2022 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 17, 1965 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Edna Burrow and the late Philip Burrow Sr.  She married Michael L. Webber, who survives.  Although they divorced, Michael remains her best friend and love of her life.
Sherri worked at Hamilton Memorial Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in McLeansboro.  She loved the work that she did, and she also loved all things elephants.
She is survived by Michael L. Webber and their 5 children, Elisha Webber, Michelle Webber, Crystal St. John (Jason St. John), Michael Webber (Katelyn Webber), and Izabella Webber.  Sherri was a caring mother and grandmother, affectionately referred to as MoMo by her grandchildren, Harper, Laythen, John, Kenzie and Mason.  She is also survived by her mother, Edna Burrow, and her 4 siblings Dawn Bayer, Tammy Martin, Philip Burrow Jr., James Burrow and their families.
Sherri was proceeded in death by her father, Philip Burrow, Sr.  She will be missed and was loved by all that knew her. Barbara Ellen Williamson - February 06, 1955 - March 05, 2022

Obituary Preview: Barbara Ellen Williamson, 67, of Belle Rive, IL passed away at her home on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
Barbara was born February 6, 1955 in Nuremberg, Germany to her parents Kenneth Gowler & Magdalena (Forrer) Gowler.  On November 6, 1992 she married Thomas Wayne Williamson Jr., who survives.
Barbara retired from Continental Tire in Mt. Vernon, IL where she had worked as a breaker cutter operator for 22 years, and she was the first female truck tire builder employed at Continental Tire.  She was formerly a longtime board member of the Sugar Camp Cemetery Board, and was a member of the Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church.  She was born in Germany and, as a military child, she moved all over the country while growing up before settling in Belle Rive in her teenage years.  Her life’s passion was horses.  She loved horse riding, camping at the Circle B Ranch in the Shawnee Forest, and spending time with her grandkids, teaching them to ride horses, cook, sew, and how to stand up for themselves.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, and making homemade pumpkin pies from homegrown pumpkins.  She loved to watch movies, especially old classic Westerns.  She loved all holidays, especially the 4th of July and Halloween.
Barbara is survived by her husband Thomas Wayne Williamson Jr. of Belle Rive, IL; daughter Monica Tucker of McLeansboro, IL; son Eudel Franklin Tucker III & wife Casey of Hillister, TX; 7 grandchildren: Sabrina Tucker & significant other Jacob Darden of Sikeston, MO; Jordan Tinsley of McLeansboro, IL; Ella Tinsley of McLeansboro, Jade Tucker, Layla Tucker, Ava Tucker, and Vivian Tucker - all of Hillister, TX; 3 brothers: Fred (wife Joyce) Gowler of Belle Rive, Trooper Gowler of Belle Rive, and Donald (wife Barbara) Gowler of Bluford, IL; sister Beverly (husband Ron) Sears of Alton, IL; 2 brother-in-laws: Donald Williamson of Belle Rive and James L. Williamson of Mt. Vernon, IL; sister-in-law June Eaton of Collinsville, IL; good friend and “partner in crime” Laura Graham of Mt. Vernon, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Doris Jean Prince, 90, of McLeansboro, IL passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro as a result of the COVID-19 Corona Virus.
Doris was born November 3, 1931 the daughter of I.B. Taylor & Rose (Belt) Taylor.  On July 4, 1949 she married Bob Prince, who survives.  They were blessed with 72 years of marriage.
Doris worked as a bookkeeper and teller at Hamilton County Bank in McLeansboro, which later became Banterra Bank.  She also worked as a receptionist at Hall’s Hospital in McLeansboro, and worked with her husband Bob at Prince Insurance & Real Estate in McLeansboro.  Doris was a member of the McLeansboro Saddle Club, the Hamilton County Bottle Club, the Hamilton County Historical Society, and the Hamilton County Queen Pins bowling team.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McLeansboro, and a former Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, and choir member.  Doris loved shopping at secondhand stores, thrift stores, and antique shops, and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, and she loved to laugh with friends.
Doris is survived by her husband Bob Prince of McLeansboro, daughter Pam (Earl) Ingram-Neff of McLeansboro, son Greg (Angel) Prince of Carbondale, IL; 4 grandchildren: Heather (Brian) Lux of Bentonville, AR; Kyle (Tiffany) Ingram of McLeansboro, Bobbie (Artie) Malchert of Clarksville, TN and Erin Prince (and Brett Laswell) of Belleville, IL; 5 great grandchildren: Carli Lux, Drew Lux, Kloey Ingram, Laila Malchert, and Ben Malchert, a niece Ladonna Bittenbender of McLeansboro, and her pet cat Tipper.
She was preceded in death by both parents, sister Donna Bittenbender, son-in-law Carl Ingram, and her pet dog Tabitha.

Mary was born February 11, 1934 the daughter of Fred A. Grewe & Elizabeth (Wuebbels) Grewe.  On July 7, 1953 she married Arthur V. Karcher who preceded her in death in 2003.  Mary owned the Aydt Mill in Dahlgren for 35 years and also worked as a Dietary Specialist at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon for 22 years, retiring in 2005.  She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren, IL.  She was a member of St. Ann’s Altar Sodality and a member of the Senior Circle in Mt. Vernon, IL.  Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, and loved spending time with her friends and family - especially with her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by five children: William A. Karcher of Dahlgren, Raymond A. Karcher & wife Kimberly of Springfield, IL; Gerald P. Karcher of Dahlgren, Melinda Karch & husband Artie of Dahlgren, and Kevin H. Karcher & wife Connie of Evansville, IN; a brother Edward L. Grewe of Mt. Carmel, IL; a sister Elizabeth M. Rapp of Belle Rive, IL; seven grandchildren: Mike (Shannon) Crewes, Noel (Dave) Chiros, Brandon (Ashley) Karcher, Daniel Karcher & wife Audie Perniciaro-Karcher, Aaron Karch, Austin Karcher & fiancé Faith Crowley, and Craig Karcher, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

She was born June 27, 1924 in McLeansboro, IL to Clarence and Carrie (Higginson) Harrison.  On June 23, 1944 Pauline married Ralph Thomas Kennedy, who preceded her in death on August 2, 1994.  Pauline was a retired cashier, having worked at Farmer’s State Bank in Dahlgren for 25 years. She also worked as a private secretary for two years for George Hogan, a lawyer and judge.  Pauline was an avid quilter, known for her knowledge and historical interest in quilting.  She liked doing crossword puzzles, reading presidential biographies, learning facts about the presidents, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Pauline was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dahlgren and also a member of the First United Methodist Women’s Society of Dahlgren.
Pauline is survived by three sons: Daryl (Brenda) Kennedy of Dix, IL, Donald (Kay Lowery) Kennedy of Dahlgren, IL and Jay (Pennie Anselment) Kennedy of Dahlgren, IL;  one daughter Leesa (Jerry) White of McLeansboro, IL; eight grandchildren: Robert Kennedy, Kimberly Rubenacker, Holly Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy, Katie Milligan, Eric White, Derek Kennedy and Michelle Brown; and ten great grandchildren: Kiersten Kennedy, Sadie Winschief, Dawson Rubenacker, Kennedy Milligan, Cameron Milligan, Nash Kennedy, Zane Kennedy, Harrison Kennedy, Avery Brown and Jailyn Brown.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Ralph Thomas Kennedy, and four sisters: Wilma Harrison, Monda Harrison, Juanita Hunter and Rosemary Faught.
Funeral services for Pauline Kennedy will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Dahlgren, IL with Pastors Russell Anderson and Lester Graham officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, February 18 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the First United Methodist Church.  She will be laid to rest at the IOOF Cemetery in Dahlgren.

Obituary Preview: Charles Eugene Perryman, 71, of Fairview Heights, IL and formerly of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Odin Health and Rehab Center in Odin, IL.
Charles was born August 21, 1950 in McLeansboro, the son of Billy Eugene Perryman & Jane Roberta (Todd) Roberson.  He married Janet (Johnston) Perryman in 1979, who preceded him in death.
Charles worked as an electrician for the Inland Steel Mine in McLeansboro until it closed.  He then worked as an electrical contractor in the St. Louis, MO area, and then he owned and worked at the Broadway Pawn Shop in Centralia, IL.  He most recently worked at Rural King in Swansea, IL.  He enjoyed working on cars, doing home improvement projects, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with friends, family and his cat Squeaky.  He cherished and loved every minute with his wife until the day she passed in 2014 and had missed her everyday until his passing.  He was of the Protestant Faith.
Charles is survived by his mother Jane Roberta Roberson of McLeansboro, 2 step-sons: Doug (Carol) Meigs of Salem, IL and Keith (Tara) Meigs of Salem, IL; 6 grandchildren: Cara (Jacob) Hamson, Brett Meigs, Blake Meigs, Bryce (Shaylin) Meigs, Brock Meigs, and Brody Meigs, 3 great grandchildren: Ella Hamson, Carson Hamson and Brynlee Meigs, 2 brothers: Ron Perryman of McLeansboro and John (Karen) Perryman of McLeansboro, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Perryman and his father Billy Eugene Perryman. Lena was born January 11, 1928 in Franklin County, IL to Oscar and Venita Gaither.  She married Paul “Bub” Ingram on June 23, 1944, and he preceded her in death in November 2017.
Lena had many jobs during her lifetime.  She was a homemaker raising 8 children and also worked at Elder’s Shirt Manufacturing Company until the closure, then at the McLeansboro Dress Factory until the closure, and her last job was at the Enfield Bra Factory until the time of her retirement.  Lena enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and spent lots of time horseback riding with her husband and many friends.  She was protestant by faith and attended Pleasant Union Congregational Christian Church in McLeansboro.
Lena is survived by 2 daughters: Patsy (Carroll) Millenbine, and Connie (Gary) McMahon, both of McLeansboro; 4 sons: Jack (Donna) Ingram, Darrell (Terry) Ingram, both of McLeansboro, Franklin (Linda) Ingram of Freelandville, IN, and Benny Ingram of Tuscon, AZ; 2 daughters-in-law: Brenda Ingram of Carmi, IL and Pam (Earl) Neff of McLeansboro.  She is also survived by one sister Betty Cowgill of Cincinnati, OH, 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul “Bub” Ingram, 2 sons Rick Ingram and Carl Ingram, 4 sisters: Dora Mae, Madge, Nina and Loretta, and 2 grandsons: Nathan Ingram and Benjamin Ingram. Matilda was born January 14, 1936 in Dahlgren, IL to Charles Augustine Karcher & Agatha Christine (Kaufmann) Karcher.  On November 14, 1966 she married Richard Charles Miller, who preceded her in death in 1999.
Matilda was a home maker, and she enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening, and cooking.  She loved talking on the phone with her friends and family and visiting with them in person.  She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, IL and formerly was a member of the Parish Council and the Altar Sodality.  She was a member of the Hamilton County Home Extension for over 50 years.  She always helped organize bus trips for group events for the groups she belonged to.
Matilda is survived by a son Roger (Melissa) Miller of Florissant, MO; a grandson Hayden Miller of Lenexa, KS; a granddaughter Gwendolyn Miller of Florissant, MO; and a grandson Bryndan Miller of Florissant, MO.  Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by both parens, her husband Richard Charles Miller, 2 sisters: Lorene Aydt and Norma Collins, and a brother Howard Karcher, who was killed in action while serving in the U.S. Military in Korea.
A Funeral Mass for Matilda Jane Miller will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, IL with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren, IL with a recitation of the Rosary being held at 7:00 pm.  Interment will take place immediately after the funeral at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis.  Memorials may be made to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the Church or at Gholson Funeral Home.

James was born May 4, 1948 at Vickers Hospital in McLeansboro, Illinois, the son of Ben & Pauline DePoister.  He graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1967.
James worked for Continental General Tire in Mt. Vernon, IL for 14 years, and later worked as an equipment specialist for the Public Works Department in Lake City, Florida, which he retired from in 2011.  He was also a proud United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969.  He and his wife Marsha were members of Lantana Road Baptist Church in Crossville, TN.  He loved working in his flowers and was especially proud of his beautiful lilies.  He also enjoyed collecting antiques of all kinds.
James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marsha DePoister, of Crossville, TN; 2 sons: Matthew DePoister & wife Michelle of Murfreesboro, TN and Marc DePoister of Crossville, TN; 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth DePoister, Benjamin DePoister, and Noah DePoister, 2 brothers:  twin brother John DePoister & wife Karen of Manteno, IL and Phillip DePoister & wife Diane of Valparaiso, IN; and 9 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents, a sister Phyllis Malchert, and an infant brother Charles DePoister. Catherine served in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, CA and later worked for the US Military Civil Service as a Payroll Technician in Norfolk, VA.  She enjoyed reading and spending time with her husband, her animals, and her children and grandchildren.  She loved her family, and was dearly loved by them.
She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary in Norfolk, VA and she attended the Mt. Olivet General Baptist Church in McLeansboro, IL.
Catherine is survived by 3 sons:  Constant Joseph Jenkins III & wife Micki of Paris, IL; Michael “Scott” Jenkins & wife Mona of Fairfield, IL; and Wayne Charles Jenkins of McLeansboro, IL; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 on the way, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 sister-in-laws: Sandra Jenkins of McLeansboro and Eva Browne of Washington State, and several close friends.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Constant “C.J” Joseph Jenkins II, and a brother Frederick Michael Browne.
A family Memorial Service for Catherine Lavinia Jenkins will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Mt. Olivet General Baptist Church in McLeansboro with Pastor Bennie Webb officiating.

David worked as a photographer for Photochrome Photography for 25 years and also worked as a wedding photographer.  He was of the Catholic faith.  He loved the Chicago Cubs, gardening, reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.  He loved his dogs Iggy & Mac.  He was a loving husband, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife Linda Marie Zarek of McLeansboro, brother Mike Zarek of McLeansboro, 2 sisters: Roxanne Ritcheson of McLeansboro and Sherri Zarek of Wisconsin, niece Sarah Ritcheson of McLeansboro, 2 nephews: John Ritcheson, Jr. of Fairview Heights, IL and Christopher Zarek of Chicago, IL and a brother in law John Ritcheson, Sr. of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Lois Zarek and a nephew Michael Trushka.

Phyllis Maynette Kuykendall - March 18, 1925 - December 18, 2021

Obituary Preview: Phyllis M. Kuykendall, 96, of Ash Grove Missouri, passed from this life into everlasting life on December 18, 2021.  She was surrounded by her family whom she loved so much.
Phyllis was born on March 18, 1925 in Rockford IL to Floyd and Hildur Nelson. She attended Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville. There she met and later married Samuel “Bert” Kuykendall. They married on Nov. 24, 1945.  Together they farmed and then entered into full time deaf ministry through the United Methodist Conference in Southern Illinois. Bert preceded her in death on Oct. 7th 2012.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Christine (Manuel) Cordero of Ash Grove, Missouri; grandson Nathan Cordero (Jaime) from PA, and granddaughter Angela Jordan of MO; great grandchildren: Gabriela, Curtis, and Eden Jordan, also Jessica, Jack and Samantha Cordero.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Bert, her parents, brothers: Richard (Lois) Nelson and Robert (Beth) Nelson, foster son Patrick Urban, and nephews: Mike Nelson and Jim Nelson.
Funeral services for Phyllis M. Kuykendall will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Gholson Funeral Home in Mcleansboro, IL.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the service beginning at 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in Kuykendall Cemetery in Carmi, IL and will follow immediately after the service.  Services will be officiated by her son in law, Rev. Dr. Manuel Cordero.
Phyllis will always be remembered for her bright eyes and smile. She loved people, having fun, playing scrabble and being around her family. She was a caregiver for so many years without complaint. She is deeply missed by her family and all who loved her.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Rose Marie Richardson, his second wife Verla Richardson, his parents Lewis and Rata Richardson, and three brothers: Doyle, Donnie and Curt Richardson.

Reba worked at Aydt Limestone & Aydt Excavating in Belle Rive, IL which she and her husband Jerome owned together.  She later worked for, and retired from the Illinois Department of Labor in Mt. Vernon, IL.  Reba was a member of the Logan Street Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, IL.  She was known for her chili and her fudge, which she loved to give away to others.  She loved traveling, reading, and spending time with her family - especially her beloved grandchildren.
Reba is survived by 3 daughters: Carol Coffel of DuQuoin, IL; Connie (Paul) Post of Ft. Smith, AR and Kim (Stan) Micinski of Meridian, ID; a son Kevin (Jayne) Aydt of Wildwood, MO; 7 grandchildren: Aaron (Eri) Coffel, Matthew Coffel, Kate (Ben) McDonald, Matt Post, Amanda (Justin) Knight, Andrew Aydt, and Alexi Micinski; 3 great-grandchildren: Madison Coffel, Jude McDonald, and Linden McDonald, a brother John (Joyce) Scrivner, a sister Minnie Sneed, a sister-in-law Caroline Bowling, and several nieces and nephews.

Vernon, IL the son of Albert & Lucille Nice.  On November 30, 1963 he married Rosanna (Kreher) Nice, who survives.  Larry worked as a farmer, a mechanic, and drove a fertilizer sprayer, and also was a bus driver for many years for Hamilton County Unit #10 schools in Dahlgren.  He was formerly the Fire Chief of the Dahlgren Volunteer Fire Department, previously served as the Mayor of the Village of Dahlgren, and served on the Village of Dahlgren village board for many years.  He enjoyed hunting & fishing, driving his swamp buggy, spoiling his grandbabies, and spending time with his family.  He was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren, a former member of the Sportsmans Club in Mt. Vernon, IL and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Larry is survived by his wife Rosanna Nice of Dahlgren, four children: daughter Pamela (Curt) Smith of Mt. Vernon, IL; son Rodney (Alberta) Nice of Dahlgren, son Charles Nice of Dahlgren, and daughter Beverly (Randy) Reyling of Dahlgren, six grandchildren: Jacob Smith of Mt. Vernon, IL; Cale Smith & special friend Patrick of Belleville, IL; Rachael Nice & special friend Brandon of Dahlgren, Michael Nice of Dahlgren, Dillin Reyling of Dahlgren, and Shelby Reyling of Dahlgren; great granddaughter Zoey McKibben, aunt Mary Karcher of Dahlgren, and several cousins.
