Departed: 04/07/2024 (Battleboro)
Obituary Preview: Born to Helen Jean Horne and Leslie “Pop” Horne, Andre Tremayne Horne (Dre) started this journey on Wednesday, December 22, 1971.  Andre's gentle spirit departed this life on Sunday, April 7, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and compassion.
Dre brought warmth and kindness into the lives of all who knew him. His generous heart and unwavering support touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. He attended Nash Rocky Mount Public School Systems.
Dre was in watch care at East End Missionary Baptist Church where The Rev. Mack E. Battle is the Pastor. Dre experienced some tough love years as a growing young man, but if you knew him then you knew he had an immeasurable amount of love for the neighborhood, namely the Holly Street Neighborhood Community and its people. Andre leaves to cherish a legacy of love, his lovely twin daughters, Makayla and Makiya Battle of Wilson, NC.; two brothers, Antonious Horne (LaTisha) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Jamarr Perry (Marley) of Rocky Mount, NC.; one sister, Charlene Morrison of Charlote, NC.;  four uncles, Otis Williams, Jr. (Doretha) of Battleboro, NC., Charles O. Williams, Sr. of Rocky Mount, NC., Lloyd Lyons (Elecsta) of Rocky Mount, NC. and Moses Horne (Sylvia) of Wilson, NC.; one aunt, Lena Pope of Richmond, VA.; seven nieces, eight nephews and a host of cousins' other relatives and friends.
Dre's passing leaves an irreplaceable absence in his loved ones’ lives. Just a few of the things he will be fondly remembered for are the preparation for grilling food and feeding people, like his beloved grandmother The late Sarah Beatrice Coley-Williams did. When it was time to eat, you knew you were going to get some encouragement and motivational conversations. Dre always looked forward to the community Thanksgiving dinners.

Superintendent Charlie Frink, Jr. - February 11, 1938 - July 07, 2023

Departed: 07/07/2023 (Battleboro)
Obituary Preview: Superintendent Charlie Frink, Jr., affectionately known by his family as “CJ”, was born February 11, 1938 to the late Andrew Willie and Sarah Elizabeth Frink. He departed this life on Friday, July 7, 2023 at UNC Nash Hospital of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Superintendent Frink was a native of Brunswick County in Shallotte, North Carolina. He completed his formal education in Brunswick County. He accepted Christ at an early age while attending Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Due to the cultural decadence of the era during his time, Superintendent Frink worked professionally on a fishing boat in Louisiana for two years after high school. Working along side his dad and older brother, Sgt. Andrew M. Frink, he began to learn the value of hard work.
Superintendent Frink had several hobbies which including fishing, farming, judo, wrestling, singing and cooking. He later moved to New York City were he joined Kelly’s Temple Church of God in Christ. He became a member of the quartet group (The Gospel Spreaders) with his life time friend Bishop James H. Gaylord. They produced many records along with preforming at various musical venues. Bishop Kelly encouraged the group to stop singing everywhere. He believed the gospel must be preached and not sung.
Superintendent Frink’s commitment to GOD increased and he truly dedicated his life to God through Salvation and Sanctification. The Holy Ghost gave him utterance with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Superintendent Frink later met and married the love of his life, The late Evangelist Shirley Edge-Frink. They became one in the sight of God on December 11, 1959. Their Motto was “Christ the Center of Our Lives”. For 52 years of marriage, they were a dynamic and inseparable duo for God. He would often say, “I knew she was my wife because I saw us going up to heaven together” during revivals at Kelly’s Temple. They loved winning souls for God. They fasted together, prayed together and studied God’s word together.
Superintendent Frink and Evangelist Shirley Edge-Frink were 1973 honor graduates of the O. M. Kelly Religious Training Institute of Brooklyn, New York. In 1975, the Lord commissioned them to return to North Carolina to do his work in the vineyard. He didn’t want to preach and ran from his calling like Jonah for a while until he finally said “Yes Lord”. Superintendent Frink wanted to evangelize in North Carolina, But God had other plans for him. Pastor Mark Deans encouraged him to pastor under the unction of God. Some of his many accomplishments were: • The Kelly’s Temple Soul Winning Team (Street Ministry) • The Usher Board • The Prison Ministry • The Kelly’s Temple Kitchen Crew • The Kelly’s Temple Trustee & Deacon Board • The New York City Baptismal Committee • Altar Attendant • Building Fund Chairman at St. Paul COGIC of Rocky Mount, NC • Nash General Hospital of Rocky Mount Chaplain (2 years) • NC Special Care of Wilson Chaplain (3 years)
• Longest volunteer at the Longleaf Neurological Center (formerly NC Special Care Center from 1979-2014). • DJ for Joy in the Morning broadcast on 92.1 FM WRSV • Treasurer for The Rocky Mount Minister’s Alliance • Major Contributor to St. Jude’s Hospital, Disabled Veterans, The Indian School, Salesian Missions • Co-Founder of The Good News Broadcast since 1975-present • Superintendent of the Upward Bound District since 2007 • Pastor & Founder of the Power House COGIC, Elm City, NC Superintendent Frink stood for TRUTH only and without compromise. His known saying was “I’ll eat your chicken and still tell you the TRUTH”.
Superintendent Frink was also preceded in transition by one daughter, Evangelist Devoir Frink; one sister, Dorothy Frink; four brothers, Andrew M. Frink, Peter O. Frink, Pastor Kirby L. Frink and Minister Cleave S. Frink. Superintendent Frink was indeed a Spiritual Father and Mentor to many, a giver to all who crossed his path, A Prayer Warrior and truly a Lover of God’s Word. He read the word 38 times and yearly encouraging the Saints of God to read and live by the word.
Superintendent Frink leaves to cherish his memory, one loving and dedicated daughter, Evangelist Stephanie Frink; one sister, Arvella Marlow; two sisters-in-law, Fronita Frink and Mary Edge; his faithful adjutant, Anthony J.
