Terry Lynn Bonds was born July 17th, 1957, in Spartanburg, SC. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Sam Bonds Jr. (Betty) and a grandson Kei’Mydre Ross. He is survived by Thay Jones Jr. Terry is survived by his siblings Anita, Tonya, Annie, Ann Bogan, Tracy Jones all of Spartanburg James of Georgia, Richard (Daisy) Columbia SC, Willie (Tyshika) New York, Aaron Jones (Joanne) Cathaye Jones (Terrell) Chris Brandon (Nicole) TN and his companion of 12 years Helen Dial of Laurens, SC affectionately known as “Fruit”.  Terry would often refer to them as” Fruit Tree”
Terry was a loving father to Terry Lynn Bonds Jr of California and Brittney Wells of the home, Kenya Dial Heath and Steven Dial reared in the home in Laurens, SC. He was the grandfather or affectionately known as “Papa Terry” to Keith, Keiarierous, Cameron, Wisdom, Tobias, and Coreon.
Terry was loved by many including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
At an early age he was educated in Spartanburg County schools and after graduating he traveled to Columbia SC to attend Columbia Commercial College to study Art and Drafting and later attended Allen University in Columbia SC to study Art and Business. Terry's artwork could be seen all over South Carolina and as far away as New York.  He always wanted to open an art studio where he could share his passion with others while teaching the fundamentals of art. He was overjoyed when given opportunities to teach art to young children. He loved art in every form and music was included, he was a huge fan of jazz, gospel and reggae.
Terry was no stranger to the gospel and the goodness of God. When he was younger, he attended church with his family and as he grew in stature his faith grew as well.  Until his untimely passing he was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Laurens SC where he served as a trustee, member of the All-Male Choir, Amour bearer to his Pastor/ friend Reverend Wilkins and he was also in charge of the weekly inspirational quotes on the church marquee.
For twenty plus years he was a devoted worker for Kmart Corp where he worked in Loss Prevention and Asset protection.
Terry was a devoted son, brother, father, friend, uncle, cousin, nephew, teacher, lodge brother and more. He was a gentle giant that loved everyone. laughed a lot, loved traveling, singing and being around people.
There was nothing Terry liked better than an interesting conversation with good friends and family. He could have an engaging conversation with almost anyone. One could say that Terry never met a stranger, and he always shared his smile.
Terry Lynn Bonds also known as Tree will be missed but NEVER FORGOTTEN. Khristian Brandon was a devoted mother who loved God and her family. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and obtained her degree in nursing from USC-Spartanburg. She was preceded in death by her husband; Howard Dawkins, a son; Timothy Dawkins, five brothers; Benjamin Shippy, Woodrow Littlejohn, Issac Taylor, Oliver Howell, William Littlejohn, two sisters; Annie Littlejohn, Rosie Mae Littlejohn.

Obituary Preview: Gaffney -Mr. Wade Lamont Tate, affectionately known to his family as “Snook”, age 52 of 421 Barclay Ave, Gaffney, SC took his eternal rest on February 25, 2022, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born on November 4, 1969, he was the son of the late Wade Tate and Ruby Dawkins Tate. He graduated from Gaffney Sr. High School, class of 1988, where he participated in ROTC. After graduating, he joined the United States Navy, where he served 4 years aboard the USS Saratoga, CV-60. During his time in the Navy, he also participated in Operations Enduring Freedom and served in Desert Storm. He was formerly employed by The Timken Company for 24 ½ years and was currently the owner of Boss Dogs LLC. After accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Wade was baptized and joined Walls Memorial Baptist Church where he proudly served as the President of the Veterans Committee.
Wade was the “Boss Dog”, a very special gift to everyone who met him. He always made everyone feel welcomed, no matter who they were or what social standing they had. If you didn’t know any better, you would think the entire city of Gaffney was his family. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and Gaffney Indians football fan. He was a family man and a true hustler. Wade loved to travel, host cook outs, play spades with his family and teaching everyone to swim by simply pushing them into his pool. He had a heart of gold and became a father figure to many of his nephews, nieces, and cousins.  Although he wasn’t a mechanic, no one in the family would dare buy a car without first having him check it out. Whether he was Snook, Boss Dog, Cool Whip, Whip or Tate, Wade loved making his family and friends laugh by his endless pranks, silly jokes and dances that he would do.
He was preceded in death by 3 aunts Magdalene Littlejohn, Marjorie Coats and Esther Whitworth, 5 uncles AC Dawkins, James Dawkins, Joe Dawkins, Rev.Carl Williams and Wardell Rainey, a God brother, Anderson Dean Craig, Sr and a very good friend Donald Montgomery.
Left to continue his legacy are his 3 daughters: Lanecia L. Graham of Gaffney, SC, Jaylah N. Glover (Curtis) of Forest City, NC, and Nashayla J. Davis of Gaffney, SC; a grandson, Austin A. Ervin of Forest City, NC; 1 brother, Kevin Tate, Sr (Karen) of Portsmouth, VA; 2 sisters, Sharon Bundy of Chesapeake, VA and Iris A. Earls of Gaffney, SC, 4 nephews, Mark Earls and Tyrus Earls of Gaffney, SC, Reggie Bundy of Chesapeake, VA and Kevin Tate, Jr of Portsmouth, VA; 2 nieces, Nicole Bundy of Chesapeake, VA and Tenya Tate of Portsmouth, VA.; 2 great nieces, Winter Earls of Gaffney, SC and Ruby Tate of Portsmouth, VA; 1 great nephew, Jaylen Boyd of Chesapeake, VA; 1 aunt, Annie T. Rainey of Gaffney, SC; 4 uncles, Hilliard “Mack” Tate (Jean) of Columbia, SC, Rev. Born October 22nd, 1927, in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Crawley Smith Sr., and Nellie Foster Smith. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: five sisters, Virginia Good, Dorothy Humphries, Daisy Foster, Doris Buckson, Nellie Elmore; two brothers, James W. Smith and Charles Foster; reared in the home as her son, James Carlos Byars, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, and family members.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 11th, 2022, at 2PM, at Genesis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Genesis Funeral Cremation Service & Chapel Inc. Face masks are required when entering the chapel.

Philip was the tenth of fourteen children. He attended elementary through high school in Catawba, North Carolina, where he graduated from Rosenwald High School. Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the military (Army) to serve his country. There he attained the rank of Corporal. When he completed his tour of duty, he returned home and worked at Catawba General Hospital for several years prior to attending Carver College in Charlotte, North Carolina. Philip spent his professional life as an employee of General Electric and was supervisor of his team. He retired from GE after more than thirty plus years of employment. Philip was a sports enthusiast who mostly enjoyed football as an undercover Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved the Lord
In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his wife Corinne Flowers and daughter Phyllis McDowell. He is survived by his daughter, Loretta Byers of Gaffney, SC., twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers, George Flowers (Gloria) of Catawba, NC., and Lloyd Flowers (Joyce) of New York, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 15,2022 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Claremont. NC, with the Rev. Joe Shuford officiating, the body will lie-in-state at 1:00, interment will follow at Mackenzie Grove Campground.
The family is receiving friends from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at 702 Anthony Street Gaffney, SC., due to COVID-19, please limited your visiting time to ten minutes, face masks are required.

He leaves to cherish fond memories five brothers; James Porter of Pacolet S.C., Fred Porter of Pacolet S.C., Roosevelt (Marilyn) Porter of Spartanburg S.C., Willie Earl Porter of Spartanburg S.C. and Joe (Bessie) Porter of Jonesville S.C. six sisters; Mittie Ruth Palmer of Spartanburg S.C., Earnestine Porter of Pacolet S.C., Bernice Shippy of Spartanburg S.C., Jeanette Thomas of Spartanburg S.C., Trethea Moore of Pacolet S.C., and Tammy Renee Porter of Boiling Springs S.C. Mike was born May 19, 1961 in Pacolet, S.C. into a family of 15 siblings. He was a graduate of Broome High School, class of 1980. After graduating, he went to work for Georgia Pacific for over 30 years and spent 10 of those years as a manager in Atlanta, G.A. In addition to his siblings, Mike leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends to cherish fond memories. Seven of Mike’s closet life-long friends; David Draper whom preceded in death, Derrick Mack, James Hardy, Coleman Byers, Juan Buck, Rick Hood, and Tammie Davis
Mike was loved by so many. His devotion to his family was simply unmatched, growing up close to both siblings, nieces, and nephews they were often called “The 6 Musketeers”. Mike, his sister “Nay”, nieces and nephew; “Bolly”, “Cracker”, “San”, and Wanda. Always together through thick and thin. Mike’s jovial spirit and larger than life personality was truly one of a kind and will remain in our hearts always. Until we meet again, rest in love our dear brother and uncle.
