Daniel L. Wills - October 23, 1957 - April 23, 2024

Departed: 04/23/2024 (Georgetown)
Obituary Preview: Daniel L. Wills, 66, passed away on April 23, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He grew up in Lanesville with his parents and siblings and attended Lanesville High School (LHS). He was an avid athlete who played basketball, cross country, tennis, and helped lead LHS to its first semi-state appearance in baseball. After graduation, he began his 40+ year career as a stagehand. He joined IATSE Local 17 and worked his way to the top as head carpenter at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts and the Louisville Palace. His brothers say he was the best of the best. He was feared by many for his high expectations but loved and respected by all. He wouldn’t hesitate to show you how to do something (you just better do it right the next time or he'd send you home)!
But more than anything, Dan was a devoted father and husband. He took care of his girls. He loved spending time with his daughter, who was his pride and joy. He never missed a ball game, play, dance recital, or important moment in her life. He was never more than a phone call away to come fix something that broke or pick her up to go look at a car. Hardly a day passed where they didn’t talk or see each other. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter the circumstances.
In his free time, Dan enjoyed playing cornhole with his Lanesville buddies, watching golf, playing with his puppy, and kicking tires at the car lots on Sundays.
Even though his life ended abruptly, he was at peace knowing how fortunate he has been. He lived life to the fullest. He did more in his lifetime than most people can dream of. Oh, the stories he’s told. From skiing behind a car in a snowstorm as a kid, getting chased by a wild boar, hitting baseballs with Tom Hanks when building the stadium for the movie “A League of their Own,” decorating his house with furniture from the movie Stripes, running Whitney Hall for almost every major Broadway show, trying out for the Cincinnati Reds, and coaching little league sports. He was the center of the party and lit up every room he entered. He touched so many lives and his memory will live on and be cherished by his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Oletha and Lamar Jerry Wills, brother Tommy Wills, sister Peggy Johnston (Mike), sister Donna Byas, sister Norma King, and brother Larry Wills. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jodie, his daughter Paige Thompson (Steve), sister Dianna Dyehouse (John), step-grandchildren (Daniel and Anieceia) his puppy (Indiana) and grand puppy (Scrappy).

Departed: 12/23/2023 (Georgetown)
Obituary Preview: James John Mulloy, 84, died peacefully at his home in Georgetown, Indiana, with his wife and three daughters holding his hands. Jim was turned to face the pond, landscape and birds he spent much of his past fifty years tending. As J.J. slipped from this earth, his daughter, Erin, read a familiar blessing: “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.” The girls opened the door so that he could leave his earthly remains to soar among the clouds as he loved to do when he was able to fly his Cessna.
Jim was born February 6, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Edward and Kathleen (Reavey) Mulloy.
After the family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim attended Mount Healthy High School. After high school, he served in the United States Army as a structural steel specialist. After leaving the Army, he and his bride, Mary Frances (Ohmer), relocated to Louisville, Kentucky. Jim began an apprenticeship machinist program at the Naval Ordnance Station. He began college at the University of Louisville and graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
He later joined the United States Department of Labor as a State Director of the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training until his retirement.
After retirement he enjoyed being involved in a multitude of activities and clubs, including working as a dealer at Caesar’s Indiana. Jim was a long-time member of the Louisville Chapter 110 Experimental Aircraft Association. He received his sea plane rating when he was well into his seventies. Jim was an avid gardener and a member of the Louisville Orchid Society. Jim was a voracious reader who was seldom without a book near his side, likely Tom Clancy or W.E.B. Griffin. He enjoyed woodworking and was developing a talent for making fly fishing lures.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Frances (Ohmer) of Georgetown, Indiana, daughters Mary Kathleen “Kelly” Mulloy Myers (Todd) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michelle Alyce Lankford (Chris) of Evansville, Indiana, and Erin Morine Conlu (Alan) of Indianapolis, Indiana.
