Obituary Preview: Gwendolyn Paige VanDerveer, 86, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022. She worked in the offices of Morris Machine Works and Baldwinsville schools, then as an LPN in St. Joseph’s Hospital and private home care. Gwen was born with a heart of gold, which was felt by everyone who knew her. After losing her love way too soon, she dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a life member of the Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corp (GBAC) and spent much of her time volunteering at her church at all the various events wherever there was a need, as well as many other organizations, which led to her being honored as Woman of the Year in 2018. Gwen was a sweet and strong lady who loved nature and being outdoors, a love she passed on to her five children. She held a special place in her heart for the Grand Tetons, Wyoming, Idaho, and the Adirondacks. She enjoyed participating in most sports, especially tennis, bowling, and golf, going to hockey and soccer games, and watching tennis and football. Her more passive hobbies included gardening, bird watching, knitting, reading, and crosswords. Gwen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard VanDerveer; her parents, Bernard and Ruth Paige; brothers Ray, Bunk, Doug, and Ron Paige; sister Joyce Prall; and sister-in-law Pauline Paige. She is survived by her five children, Dan (Deb), Eric, Jay (Kelly), Wendy, and Cindy (Fred Bressette) VanDerveer; brothers Jim (Joyce), Ned, and Wayne (Elizabeth) Paige; sisters Marcia (John) Prall and Bobbie Cooper; sister-in-law Bev (Ray) Paige; brother-in-law Jack VanDerveer; grandchildren Cory (Samantha) VanDerveer, Alyssa (JJ) Potrikus, Shane (Lauren) Bressette, Dillon (Amanda Cooter) Bressette, Heath (Katie) Bressette, Sasha (Luke Chapin) Bressette; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 7, at the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwinsville. Obituary Preview: James Milden, 89 from Baldwinsville, passed away very peacefully at home Friday, January 28 after an extended illness. He was born July 23, 1932, son of the late Betty and Wesley Milden.
He very proudly served his country in the 82 nd Airborne Division. After his service, he attended SUNY Oswego, where he earned a Masters Degree and then taught Industrial Arts for 31 years at Hazard St. School in Solvay, NY.
Jim and Nan enjoyed traveling, winters in Myrtle Beach, and have very fond memories of their many adventures.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, Nan; his daughter Patti and her husband Rusty and their four children – Tehya (Peter), Rheana (Steve), Micah and Noah; his son David and his wife Sheila and their three children – Mike (Brandis), Sarah (Jamie) and Madeline; his son Andrew and his wife Tracy and their son Chad as well as Jim’s loving great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Walter Maihofer, his brother-in-law Richard Fry and his wife Connie and many loving nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Gates Funeral Home in Baldwinsville on Thursday, Feb 3 from 11:00 am until noon. The service will immediately follow.

Sister and Brother-In-Law, Janis and Walter Richmond. Surviving: Daughters, Judi Dreher-Wiberg (Paul) and Val Dreher-Caldwell (Clarence). Several Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Maureen in 2001 and his brother, David Lynch. He is survived by his daughters, Kristine (Scott) Malone of Oswego and Karen (Alexander) Kass of Baldwinsville; son, Mark Bolla of Virginia; companion, Martha Stevens of Baldwinsville; sister, Carol Curtiss; brother, Robert Lynch and many nieces and nephews. Terry was the proud grandfather of Nicole Willsey of Eugene, Oregon and Ian Thomas of Baldwinsville. He owned several antique tractors and vintage airplanes and assisted in the construction of many homebuilt airplanes.  He generously offered his shop, tools and knowledge to anyone who was in need. Terry was known for his sense of humor, quick wit and story telling. To his grandchildren, he will be remembered as someone who was always there for them, often driving several hours to support and attend their activities. To his children, he will be remembered as a strong, determined man who was always available to help family, friends and neighbors alike. Debby had recently retired from Cato-Meridian School District after 32 years of service and was known by all as a pillar in her community. Her generous spirit and kind heartedness contributed to the success of hundreds of students throughout her career. Obituary Preview: Carl Henry Seger, 89 of Vernon, New Jersey has joined his loving wife of 60 years today in heaven.  He lived in Baldwinsville for 32 years and Indiantown, Florida for 24 years before moving to Vernon.
Moose Club and volunteer fireman with Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department is how we remember Carl.  He held the highest position at the Baldwinsville Moose Club as governor and pilgrim.   Everyone knew Carl who volunteered for his community. Carl retired from over 30 years working at Grief Bros as a plant manager.
Carl is survived by his four children, Carol (Mark) Williamson of South Carolina, Cheryl (John) Linnenbach of Mechanicsburg, Clifton Seger, of Niagara Falls, and Edward (Patricia) Seger of Vernon, NJ., his sister Mary Ribaudo, of Falconer, New York, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

Margaret was a very accomplished woman. She taught elementary school and high school choral music in the Niagara Falls Public Schools. Her Madrigal Singers in LaSalle high school toured Rumania. She directed the Rainbow Singers for 30 years and the Bacon Memorial church choirs where she was a member for 80 years. Margaret founded and directed the Niagara Falls Community Music School. Margaret was an active participant in the Presbyterian Church and the western NY Presbytery. Margaret made her own clothes, doll clothes, knitted, hiked, camped and traveled. While living at the Nottingham, she managed the resident store. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Jonathan and granddaughter Heather Costello Bartman and survived by sons Jonathan Jr, Glenn, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 27 at Bacon Memorial Church, Niagara Falls, NY. Donations can be made to Bacon Memorial Church.

Obituary Preview: W. Clifford Reese Jr, 83, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021. He was born June 2, 1938, in Earlville, NY, son of the late William C. and Margaret A. Reese. Cliff grew up in Earlville, NY, on the family farm.  He attended Earlville Central School and went on to Cornell University, earning a degree in Agriculture. He worked in the agricultural nutrition field throughout his adult life, both in the US and internationally. Being involved in a church community was important to him. Cliff was an active member in the United Methodist Church Conference and in his local church, including the Walk To Emmaus. In addition, he was an active member of the Lyons Club at one point in his life.
Cliff was married 61 years to his loving, supportive wife, Marie, who survives. He loved being a dad, grandpa & great-grandpa. Additional surviving family members include sons Scott (Lisa) Reese, Michael (Terri) Reese, and daughter: Lisa White. Grandchildren: Heather Hampsey, Renee (Matt) Dossett, Rebecca (Brad) Resinger, Caitlin and Devon Reese, Taylor White (Chris Morgan), Dakota, and Jordan White. Great-grandchildren: Lane and Mason Dossett, Serena Russell, Jackson Resinger. His siblings Mary Easton, Malcolm (Fran) Reese, Betty Hertz, Richard (Mary Ellen) Reese also survive, and his brother David predeceased him.  In addition, nieces, nephews and several cousins survive. Services are on Saturday, September 18, at Christ Community United Methodist Church on 3474 Stiles Rd, Syracuse, NY. Calling hours at 10 am, service at 11 am. Judy received her Bachelor’s in Library Science from SUNY Geneseo and Master’s in Education from University of Colorado Boulder, then serving as school librarian at Penfield Central School District, Indian River School, APW, and Phoenix Central Schools, until she retired. Judy was a very active member of Reformed Church of the Thousand Isles and then Grace Evangelical Covenant Church. She was happiest driving her speedboat on the St. Lawrence River, playing games with family, reading late into the night and worshipping with friends.
