Sharon Maria Osman - September 07, 1966 - April 28, 2024

Departed: 04/28/2024 (Galloway)
Obituary Preview: Sharon Maria O’Gorman Osman passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 57 as the sun set on Sunday, April 28th 2024. She bravely fought Esophageal Cancer for 9 months, smiling through every chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Sharon was the heart of our home and family. She was a devoted wife to Mohamed for over 36 years, and a deeply cherished mother and best friend to Nadia and Rebecca; daughter of Thomas O’Gorman and the late Maria O'Gorman; and soon-to-be mother in law to John Morgan. She is also survived by her four siblings whom she loved so much, Deborah Donohoe, Paul O’Gorman, Elaine Smith, and Barry O’Gorman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncle; and friends who became like family. Those who lovingly knew her referred to her as “Mama Sharon” “Sha Sha” and “Irish.” Our dear Sharon was born in Dublin, Ireland on September 7th, 1966. She was deeply proud of her Irish roots but fulfilled her childhood dream of traveling the world by immigrating to the United States at only 19 years old. Her plans for a summer abroad were thwarted as she fell in love with the Jersey Shore, and Big Moe who she spent the rest of her life with. Although she spent the majority of her life here, she never lost her Irish brogue! She was a true renaissance woman, co-owning and managing several restaurants over the years, while always prioritizing being present for her daughters. Her compassion for others ran deep, and she never looked down upon anyone. She always said, “It's the simple things in life!” and never wanted for more than she already had. Sharon made sure to always give back to the community and consistently donated both time and money to charities, making sure to always take care of those less fortunate. She was outspoken and sometimes rebellious, always speaking up for what she believed in. She was fined for feeding stray neighborhood cats, and leaving food out for the squirrels and birds, but did it anyway!
Sharon had an abundance of quirks, like pulling over on the side of the road to pick wildflowers, or sewing together an outfit she thrifted, adding her own flare (with a lot of rhinestones for bedazzling!) She loved to read crime novels, show off her astute geography skills in a crossword, and was known for her long walks in the neighborhood regardless of the elements. She spent her summers on the beach, and only loved the rain when it was followed by a rainbow. Sharon loved to dance and never listened to music at a low volume. She was a true 80’s girl, but loved every single genre of music.
There are many things she will be remembered for, like her detailed long stories “short” and her fabulous sense of style full of colors, sparkles, glitz and glamor, but most importantly Sharon will be known for how she was truly a friend to all. Sharon would start up a conversation with anyone she came across, and touched the hearts and lives of many people who knew her, even if it was just a brief moment. She had a divine aura about her, the most creative mind, a genuine smile, contagious laugh, the silliest sense of humor, and found beauty in all things, especially human beings from all walks of life. She was curious, intellectual, kind, and full of infinite love to give, and so she did. No matter what Sharon was going through in life, she always radiated pure happiness and joy. Although Sharon’s passing is a devastating loss, we take comfort in knowing she has joined her dear mother, Maria, in heaven.

He had a deep love of music, taking pleasure in attending live concerts and amassing a large collection of videos from the Vietnamese music series Paris By Night.
