In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister: Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Flowers.
Mrs. Beard is survived by her husband: Larry Beard; daughters: Jennifer Robin (Chris) Johnson, Sara Krystintyne Beard and Leslie Lorene Beard; brother: George Washington (Becky) Warren; grandchildren: Raven Cheyenne Beard, Autum Schyler Nunemaker and Payslee Ann Beard; and great grandson: Kyler Xavier Haralson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Petersburg First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ed Keith officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Petersburg First Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son: Jimmy Wayne George, Jr.; grandson: Felix Ray George; sisters: Margaret Goosby and Lucille George; half-sisters: Ruby Simmons, Mary Alice Thomas and Frances Skuffla; half-brothers: Robert George and Felix ‘Jack’ George, Jr.; and nephew: Jason Collins.
He is survived by his loving children: David Wayne (Jennifer) George and Kassie Michelle (Nicholas) Ballard; devoted grandchildren: Colton Wayne George, Alan Wayne Stewart, Scarlett Mae Stewart, Ava Claire George, Isabella Maryanna Ballard; one loving sister: Barbara Ann Collins; nieces: Jessica and Amber; and nephews: Johnny and Jeffrey.
Jimmy will be fondly remembered by his friends at Goodman where he worked for over 4o years and his friends at Machale's Towing where he ended his working career. Jimmy devoted his life to raising his children with love and doting on his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.

Velma was a retired employee of Serbin and Blue Ridge Manufacturing, worked in child daycare and was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship, where she taught Sunday School and worked in the nursery.
She was married to James Lee Smith, who died in 1995. In addition to him, and her parents, she was predeceased by sisters: Frances Smith, Dorothy Brannon, Alma Meeks, Eunice Norris, and Jean Roney; a great-granddaughter, Zoe Brannon Parker, and several brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her three sons: David (Betty) Smith, of Killen, AL., Dwight (Carman) Smith, of Fayetteville, TN, and Kevin Smith, of Memphis, TN; five grandchildren: Mindy (Corey) Crittenden, Carrah (Bryant) Lash, Brittany (Brandon) Hickson, Anna (Coby) Moon, and Caleb Smith; sisters Marie (C.L.) Norris, of Horseshoe, NC, and Faye (late Ronald) Hollis, of Fayetteville, TN; eleven great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Grant, AL in 1944 to James Arnice Mayhall & Essie Delilah Law Mayhall. Jim was a loving human being, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Jim was a remarkable man who touched the lives of countless people with his generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Jim was a self-made success story. He was a dedicated and hardworking business partner, known for his loyalty, diplomacy, and strong work ethic. Beyond his professional achievements, Jim was the glue that held his family together. He was a source of steadfast love, support, and guidance for his children, grandchildren, and many others who considered him a father figure.
Jim will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends and longtime companion, Agnes Boatright and their dog, Scooter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm at The Huntsville Botanical Gardens in The Isenberg Grand Hall.

Bob was a retired Artist Illustrator with the State of Alabama Health Department in Montgomery for 32 years and a Graphic Artist with Northrup Corporation at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville for 10 years. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator since the 1970s and enjoyed hours on end talking to his many friends, both locally and around the world.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He loved the outdoors, working on projects, western movies, old cars from the 1950s, guns and collecting guns. He was a kind yet strong and loving man, easy going with a good spirit, funny and fun. He enjoyed ‘pranking’ his children and grandchildren. He would jokingly say, ‘Ask Bob’, meaning he knew a little about everything. Bob was a Christian with deep belief in God and the Bible.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Dana Carol Crumley.
Mr. Simms is survived by his wife: Carol Price Simms; daughter: Tammy Simms Peyton and husband, B.F.; son: Bobby Rex Simms, II and wife, Nancy; step-children: Amy Yates and husband, Michael, and Jill Crumley; grandchildren: Tiffany Boyte Almes, Ragan Simms Chambless and Austin Jordan Simms; step-grandchildren: Justin Boulware, Robert Boulware, Adison Yates, Aeron Yates, Cameron Spain, Crystal Norris, Jay Simms and Brody Simms; great grandchildren: Carson Grey Chambless, Elle Riley Chambless, Charlotte Kate Almes, Henry Gray Almes, Luke Jordan Simms and Saylor Jane Simms; and brother: Gary Ned Simms and wife, Debbie.

Willie Edward Smith - May 11, 1937 - March 11, 2024

Obituary Preview: Willie Edward Smith was born on May 11, 1937, in Fayetteville, Tennessee to Galveston and Ruby Smith. He was the eldest of 3 siblings, sister, Barbara Jean and brother, James Larry. Willie was raised on the family farm in Kelso, Tennessee, where he acquired his love of growing and cultivating the land. He attended elementary school in Kelso, graduating from West End High School in 1954 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, where Willie was a member of the choir, song leader, played on the football team, the secretary of the national farmers group, NFA, and was voted the “Most Popular” boy of the senior class. He went on to graduate from Tennessee State University, Nashville, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in agriculture. He also received his teaching credentials from the University of California, Los Angeles.
In 1958, Willie married his high school sweetheart Mae Frances, and moved to Los Angeles, where they started their family. To this union two daughters were born, Pamela Jean and Sharon Kamela. He prospered working for the city of Los Angeles, until 1968, when he moved back to his beloved Tennessee. Then in 2017, he moved back again to California, to be with his daughters and grandchildren, becoming a resident of the city of Moreno Valley.
Willie accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of the Figueroa Church of Christ in Los Angeles, and then moving back to Tennessee, for the majority of his life, a faithful member of the Mayberry Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville. His love for the Lord was true, pure, and immense. Willie moved to his heavenly home on March 11, 2024, joining his beloved wife, father, mother, sister and brother. He leaves to mourn, his two daughters: Pamela Cunningham (Ernest) of Moreno Valley, CA, Sharon Williams (Keith) of Long Beach, CA;  granddaughters: Davina Cunningham Johnson (Cedric) of Los Angeles, CA, Princess Denmon of Long Beach, CA, Bethany Cunningham Carr of Chino, CA; great-grandchildren: Maiyanah and Cha’san Haynes of Long Beach, CA, Schylar and Piper Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Zayden Carr and Zylo Hulse of Chino, CA; nieces, Delicia Smith of Temple City, CA, Sonja Gwinn Brewton of Mason, TN; nephew, Devin Smith of Temple City, CA and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Webb of Fayetteville, TN, Bonnie Smith of Temple City, CA; and host of relatives and friends. He will truly be missed!
Funeral Service will be held at Mayberry Street Church of Christ on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters: Myrtle Lee Smith, Deborah Gulley, and Juanita Williams; and four brothers: Jackie Lynn Hill, Floyd Hill, Bill Hill and Roy Hill. Tony was kind with a big heart. He and his wife, Cheryl, had a once in a lifetime love for one another; He was the love of her life. He was a family man who would move mountains for his family; to them, he was superman and always will be. He could be stubborn as a mule but at the same time, so witty, making his loved ones laugh.
Tony is survived by his wife: Cheryl Hill; one daughter: Amanda (Jason) Wilbanks; one son: Adam (Amanda) Hill; one sister: Pamela (Melvin) McCoy; two brothers: Pete (Dawn) Hill and Jerry (Anita) Hill; four grandchildren: Briona Hill, Peyton Hill, Colton Hill, and Grayson Anthony Wilbanks; and one great grandchild: Shaimar (SJ) Hill.
