He was born on December 24, 1938 in Bristol to the late Morris and Edna (Riemer) Pabst. He retired from Aetna after 30 plus years of service. He loved to cook and listen to classical music. Leland is survived by his sons Christopher and his wife Eloise of East Haven, Gregory and his wife Diane of Terryville, Jeffrey and his wife Jane of Bristol; his daughter: Deborah and her wife Liz of Groton; his ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She played piano, loved to follow Hollywood, and enjoyed art and word games. She was predeceased by her son: Eric Steiner and her sister: Harriett Lattanzi, and leaves nieces and nephew: Laura Lattanzi Sterling, William Lattanzi, and Susan Lattanzi Roser. Obituary Preview: Ruth (Bush) Suchinski, 86, of Wolcott, widow of Joseph Suchinski, died on Thursday (June 30, 2022) at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington. Ruth was born on December 6, 1935 in Bristol and was one of eight children of the late Emil and Lillian (Powers) Bush. A longtime Wolcott resident, she worked for General Electric, Plainville, for 13 years and Johnson & Johnson/Critikon before retiring. She was a member and past-president of the Billy Peterson Post, Wolcott American Legion Auxiliary and a parishioner of St. Basil the Great Parish, Wolcott. Ruth was an inspiration to many who met her, always having a smile and words of encouragement. She was an avid bowler. Ruth loved watching UCONN girls’ basketball and Yankees baseball. Gardening and working in her yard always gave her joy. Ruth is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law: Ronald Suchinski and Nicole Smart of Wolcott; several nieces and nephews; special friend: Gail Pacelle of Bristol; and “almost daughters”: Kathleen Dandeneau of Wolcott and Karen Veronneau of Torrington. She was predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters. Phyllis was born on January 11, 1944 in Bristol and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Aurele (Gagne) Dutkiewicz. Phyllis, a devout catholic, married Wayne B Heath Sr. on August 29th 1964. For the next half of a century Phyllis stood by Wayne side as the foundational anchor of his military career in the US Navy & US Air Force. A journey that took the family across the United States through countless military installations in 8 states. In her spare time Phyllis harnessed her passion for family and education while serving as a director of faith based educational programs for the US Air Force Church until Wayne’s retirement in 1983. After returning to Bristol in 1983, Phyllis began her own career serving the J.C. Penny corporation as the Executive Manager of the local store in Bristol Plaza until her retirement in 1997. Phyllis a selfless giver to her children and relatives enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, reading, and cross word puzzles.  She was a parishioner of St. Matthews Church in Forestville CT, where she served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, sang in the choir and was an Associate of the Sisters Cross and Passion, and a devoted supporter of the Our Lady of Calvary retreat house in Farmington CT. Phyllis is survived by four children: Cassandra Harmond and husband, Richard of Katy, TX, Wayne B. Heath, Jr. of Bristol, Richard A. Heath a US Navy Veteran of Bremerton, WA, and Christopher E. Heath of Lakeridge, VA; three grandchildren: Caleb, Robert, and Sarah Harmond; and several nieces and nephews. Both Maggie and her husband, Bill, had many friends throughout their lives & enjoyed spending time with them all over the years. They enjoyed going out to dinner, golfing, and going on cruises. Bill loved to tend to his vegetable garden and Maggie would cook exceptional meals with the harvest. Maggie leaves behind a daughter: Carolyn LaRosa; a son: Daniel "Dan" Doty; a daughter-in-law: Rebecca Doty; a grandson: Max Doty; and a granddaughter-in-law: Mary Jinglewski, all of Georgia. She also leaves two sisters: Lucy LaMonico of Burlington, and Ann Grossi of Bristol, and several nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the Connecticut region. Her deceased parents were: Palma and Donato DeCrisantis of Bristol. He was a Vietnam veteran serving as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force from 1963-1969. He graduated from Sacramento State University with honors and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Finance. He had a successful career as a general contractor. Fred is survived by three children: Jody Soria of El Dorado Hills, CA, David Schwedler of Fair Oaks, CA, and Darren Schwedler, Sr. of Bristol, CT; a sister: Audrey Congeni of Rocky River, OH; five grandchildren: Amanda Schwedler, Sarah Schwedler, Brittney Schwedler, Nickolas Biaggi, and Darren Schwedler, Jr.; and nieces and nephews. She worked at Allstate Insurance, several years as a hairdresser in Newtown, and until her passing, she worked in Food Service at Oxford Public Schools. Deborah loved to garden, work on puzzles and spend time boating on Lake Zoar in Oxford. She had a special place in her heart and loved to spoil her grand fur babies Jersey, Guinness and Holly. She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Nyla Vargas (James) of Bristol and a Stepson Jeffrey (Linda) Vargas of Oxford; three brothers William G. Manchester, Mark D. (Donna) Manchester, David P. (Darlene) Manchester; twin sister Donna (George) Shaia all of Bristol; also leaves a very special significant other, William Lathrop of Oxford; many nieces and nephews. A Graveside committal service will take place this Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11 AM in West Cemetery, 49 Pound St. Bristol. There will be no visiting hours. Obituary Preview: On Saturday, June 11, 2022, David Carl Middleton, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 66 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. David was born on December 4, 1955 in Hartford to the late Andrew and Rena (Nericcio) Middleton. David served in the United States Navy, Vietnam era on USS America (CV-66). During his years serving the Navy, he toured the Mediterranean. On May 19, 1990, he married Arlene (Theriault) Middleton. They raised two children Jessica and Tyler Middleton - whom he was extremely proud of. David had a passion for baseball. He spent many years playing softball on the Burlington Men’s League. He was extremely proud to be the MVP of his team. David would spend his weekends cheering on his favorite sports teams. Saturday’s were for the Yankees, Sunday’s were for the Cowboys! He was a true sports fan! He enjoyed listening to The Beach Boys and soaking up some sunshine on the deck. David spent many weekends with his wife, children, and grandchildren, indulging in many great meals, laughs, and precious moments. David was preceded in death by his father Andrew, and his mother Rena. He is survived by his wife Arlene, his son Tyler, his daughter Jessica and son-in-law Brian Gibbons, his two grandchildren Ayden and Adrienne, his brother Andrew Middleton, his brother Robert (Sandy) Middleton, his sister Judith(James) Duquette, his sister-in-law’s Judy Collins and Jenny Theriault, his brother-in-law Paul Theriault, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
