Dennis was born on August 3, 1953 in Linton to the late Leon Bedell and Mary Chambers Bedell.
Dennis served his country proudly in the United States Army and loved to farm for Kim Cardinal’s Farm and Agriculture. He also took great pride in his grandchildren and spent every second he could seeing them; and enjoyed driving a semi.
Survivors include; his wife, Lisa Bedell; children, Bobbie (Robbie) Wright and Tiffany Bridgewater; grandchildren, Nevaeh Goodsen, James Wright, Addyson Wright, Trevor Goodsen; two brothers, Doug Bedell and David Bedell; and a sister, Drenna Trosper; and mother, Mary Bedell.
He was preceded in death by; his father, Leon Bedell; and a brother, Danny Bedell.

Obituary Preview: James Ray “Jim” Polk, 83 of Marietta, GA went to his eternal resting place onThursday, July 15, 2021 peacefully while at his residence.
Jim was born September 12, 1937 to the late Oeta and Raymond Polk in Oaktown,IN.
At the age of eight he wrote about sports for the local paper, the Oaktown Press.After three years in the United States Navy, he attended Indiana UniversityBloomington and received his bachelor' a degree in government in 1964. Heworked as a political staff writer for the Bloomington-based Herald-Telephone,and received the American Political Science Award. He moved to the AssociatedPress in 1962, and later joined the Washington Star in 1971.James R. Polk was an American journalist, known for his investigative reporting and coverage of American political corruption and fraud. Over the course of his career, he has covered the Raymond Donovan investigations, the Bert Lance controversy, the Abscam scandal, and the financial dealings of John Zaccaro,husband of 1984 Democratic vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro. Polkwon several journalism awards: George Polk Award, an Emmy, and the PultizerPrize for Investigative Reporting. He was also the co-founder of Investigative Reporters and Editors that was headquartered in New Jersey. Among his many accomplishments he also was; employed by NBC from 1975-1992 as an investigative reporter, this was when he covered the Abscam, and racketeering case against Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos, and the Iran-Contra Affair; in 1992 he joined CNN as Senior Documentary Producer, during his time at CNN James was awarded the Emmy earlier mentioned. IN 1994 James was entered into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame (ijhf.org). Not only was James a well accomplished journalist and investigator, he still made time to put his family first as well as his colleagues. He was very involved with his children’s athletics and coached all the teams that his children participated in while growing up, including; Little League, T-Ball, and Softball. He was a devoted family man and an avid sports fan; since moving to Atlanta he was a dedicated Braves fan but his true passion was I.U. football and basketball. A quote from one of Jim’s colleagues, “In any newsroom, to have Jim Polk praise your work was the ultimate compliment because he didn’t give them out lightly. He was a tough teacher but generous with his time and talent. He once told me that my documentary was the finest documentary CNN ever produced including those he, himself did. I think I cried when he told me that. That’s how much Jim’s opinion counted.”
Jim is survived by: his adoring wife, Cara Bryn Saylor Polk; son, Geoffery Polk(Crystal); daughter, Abigail Polk-Stolarsky (Igor); grandchildren Bradley Polk, AdamRobinette, and Bryan Robinette; and a brother, Dr. David Polk (Kitty).

David grew up in Olney, IL and was a 1974 graduate of Olney High School and furthered his education with a degree from Vincennes University in Laser Technology. After college, David served his country proudly for 5 years in the United States National Guard; after his tenure in the military, David was employed by the G.E. plant in Terre Haute from which he retired in 2019. David is survived by; his siblings, Steven Roby (Kathy), James T. Roby II (Paula Plummer), and Michele E. Brough (Darrell); nephews, Jeremy, and Nathaniel Roby; great- nieces and nephews, Mirabel, Thomas, Nea, and Azvia Roby. Steve was a member of the Vincennes Gun Club; enjoyed trap and skeet shooting, bird watching, and being outdoors. When Steve was young he helped to train horses for racing and took a great interest in the sport.
Steve was preceded in death by; his loving wife, Debra Parish Utt; and his parents.
He is survived by; children, Lori Herrmann (Andrew), Cary Cox (Mike Jimerson), Bryce Utt (Alicia), and Spencer Utt; grandchildren, Finn, Cassidy, Brycen, Alex, and Quinn; and one brother, Doug Utt.

Darlene was a secretary for Win Energy (REMC) for 36 years then after retiring worked for Goodwill Industries. Darlene was a 1952 graduate Oaktown High School and was a member of Oaktown Christian Church where she was a Deacon and on the Worship Committee. There will be a graveside service 11 A.M Monday December 28, 2020 at the Oaktown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oaktown Christian Church or the Oak Village nursing home. James Married the love of his life Wilma Whitson on August, 29, 1980.  James worked for over 39 years at Ralph Green Construction and 7 year at Parrigan Construction.  He was also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181.
James is survived by his wife Wilma of 40 years; Son, Gary Small of Wheatland; Daughters, Rhonda Bruner of Wheatland, Tracy Noble of Port Richey, FL, and Talia Small of Wheatland; Brother Larry (Judy) Small of Vincennes; Sister-in-law, Mary Small of Bicknell; Grandchildren, Scott, Shawn, Steven, Jessie, Brandon, Tony, Jenny, Misty, Amy and Hunter; 28 Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren; Care Givers, Phillip and Jessie Merydith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daughter, Linda Donaldson; Sons, Butch Small and Norman Storms; Brother, Bill Small; Grand Daughter, Cassie Small.
James loved all of us and will be missed dearly.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020,  2:00 P.M.  at Fredrick and Son McClure- Utt Funeral Home Oaktown Chapel, 100 West Main St. Oaktown, Indiana 47561. Harold Jr Moody - February 19, 1941 - December 10, 2020

Obituary Preview: Harold Junior Moody, 79, of Oaktown, passed away on Thursday, December 10 at Oak Village Nursing Home.  Born February 19, 1941, he was the son of Harold And Edith Alsman Moody.  He married Elizabeth “Tib” Meeks Moody on November 21, 1964 at the Oaktown Christian Church.  He is survived by three sons, Reg Lynn (Mia) Moody, Rhett Alan (Holly) Moody and Russ Daniel (Candy) Moody. They have one granddaughter, Shelby Lyn Moody and eight grandsons, Garrett (Sarah) Moody, Jace Alan Moody, Casey (Abby) Moody, Cole Ryan Moody, Lex Steven Moody, Dane Harold Moody and Adam (Ally) Moon. Great grandchildren are MaKenna, Levi, and Callum Moody and Adrian, Alexa and Anson Moon.  A grandson, Austin Lynn Moody is deceased. Harold graduated from Freelandville High School in 1959. He earned his BA from Oakland City College and his MS from Indiana  University. Harold taught at Monroe City for four years before consolidation and later at South Knox High School for 36 years.  He was a member of Oaktown Church of Christ, Oaktown Masonic Lodge #474 and served on many advisory boards in Oaktown. Harold loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of them whether it was playing cards, fishing, mushroom hunting, jeep riding or watching his grandkids sports activities. He and Tib traveled a lot of places with friends.  He was a kind man with a compassionate heart who loved helping people especially his students at SKHS. Due to Covid, private services for Harold were conducted on December 14, 2020.  We are now having a celebration of life on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Oaktown Christian Church.  Visitation will be from 11 to 12:30 with a ceremony at 12:30. Keith Lloyd Kester - October 10, 1942 - December 05, 2020

Obituary Preview: Keith Lloyd Kester, son of Warren and May (Frye) Kester was born on October 10, 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He went to his heavenly home on December 5, 2020.
Keith received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University in 1966. As part of his education, Keith was a foreign exchange student in Costa Rica. He joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. In the conflict Keith flew Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft which refueled the SR-71 “Blackbird”, a long-range reconnaissance aircraft. Following completion of his service, Keith transferred to the Air Force Reserve. He secured a position with the Federal Aviation Administration and began a career as an Aviation Safety Inspector where he certified pilots of major airlines and investigated aircraft accidents. Keith served in this capacity for many years and upon his retirement from civil service he returned to Indiana to operate the family farm in southern Vigo County. Keith retired as a Major from the Air Force Reserve with 20 years of service.
Keith had a lifelong passion for flying and learned to fly from his father, Warren. During his lifetime, Keith flew approximately 8,000 flight hours flying the Fairchild C-123, Lockheed C-130, Lockheed C-5 and had type ratings in the Boeing 737, McDonnell Douglas DC-9, Fokker F28, Learjet 23, Boeing 707, Boeing 720 and the McDonnell Douglas DC-3. Flying was one of his many passions, but Keith also enjoyed reading, bird watching, gardening, raising livestock and watching the stars. Keith was a devout Christian and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Farmersburg, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of twenty-three years, Linda Sue Kester. Keith is survived by her two children, Kerry (Lana) Heath of Dugger, Indiana and Becky (Tim) Strain of Bicknell, Indiana; his second wife Gay Ann Monninger and their four children, Kellen Kester of Midland, Texas, Kylee (Josh) Pirtle of Midland, Texas, Kaleb (Ronith) Kester of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kendrick Kester of Atlanta, Georgia; his first wife Betty Renner Burgess and their child Kent Kester of Carmel, Indiana; twelve grandchildren and dear friend Mae Green.
Funeral services will be on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Oaktown Chapel, 100 West Main St. Oaktown, Indiana, 47516, with Pastor Bret Parks officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Oaktown Cemetery.

He could often be found showing his grandchildren his hobbies and spending time with them as he put his family before all other things.
Darrell is survived by; his loving wife, Janice Donnar; stepchildren, Shelli Alsman Singleton (Randy) of Oaktown, Gary Neal Alsman (Lori) of Oaktown children, Gary Donnar (Kim) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Terry Donnar (Kathy) of Sullivan IN, Ricky Donnar of Emison,IN;; brother, Bruce Donnar (Margo) of Bruceville; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Darrell was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Donnar.

Loren was born September 7, 1963 in Sullivan, IN to the late Nelson Harold Phegley and Betty Lou (Arnett) Phegley.
Loren was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was the best knife sharpener around. Loren enjoyed making canes and knives and just simply being outside.
Loren is survived by; his daughter, Samantha Pierce of Shelburn; 3 sisters, Dixie Mallory of Sessor, IL, Sally Roelle of Sullivan, and Nina Rose Phegley of Vincennes; and 1 brother, John Phegley (Cindy) of Carlisle, IN; many nieces and nephews.
Loren was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Harriett (Dillon) Phegley.

Terri was born October 15, 1967 at the Ft. Hood Army Base in Texas to Claude “JR” and Rita (Owens) Miley.
Terri was formerly an employee of Oak Village Nursing Home where she devoted her time and energy to the residents and staff. She lived many years in Oaktown and tirelessly volunteered in many community events. She graduated South Knox High School in 1985 and was a member of Oaktown Christian Church; where she served in different capacities in her spare time. Terri loved most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and taking travel adventures with her significant other, Harold Stewart of Sandborn, and he survives.
Also surviving are; her mother, Rita Miley of Vincennes; a son, Travis Richards (Kayla) of Vincennes; daughters, Jessica Doades (Corbin) of Vincennes, Nicole Cockerham (Shaun Volle) of Carlisle, Brittany Buss (Tim) of Vincennes; sisters, Tammi Ramsey (Cavin) of Vincennes, and Trina Cullen (Ralph) of Granbury, TX; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews.
Proceeding her in death was; her father, Claude Miley, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Rhonda Owens. Memorial contributions may be made to Oaktown Christian Church, 103 School St. 47561. Doris was a devoted member of Shaker Prairie Christian Church. She enjoyed reading and she loved her cats.
Doris leaves behind; her children, Jackie Milam (Richard) of TN, David Stultz of IL. and Doug Stultz of Carlisle; grandchildren, John Milam (Audrey York’s), Kelly Milam, Lane and Christain Stultz; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Caden; siblings, Marjorie Lavely ( Sam Beetham ) of IL, Cindy Hatfield (Terry) of Oaktown, and Harley Beeman (Jayne) of Oaktown.
She was preceded in death by; parents; spouse; a daughter, Marsha Stultz; and a sister, Avis Lamb.
The funeral service will be at Fredrick and Son Funeral Home, Oaktown Chapel on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. with a visitation from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Shepherd Cemetery. Obituary Preview: Franklin Dee Hall, Jr., 40, of Oaktown, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020.  He is the son of Franklin and Linda Hall of Oaktown.  Frank, Jr. was born on December 10, 1979, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana. Frank attended North Knox West Elementary School, North Knox East/Jr. High, and North Knox High School (1994-1998).  Frank was a National Merit Scholar Runner Up in high school.  He was also selected 1998 Academic All-State in Football his senior year of high school.  Upon graduation from high school, Frank was awarded a Rural Health Scholarship to Indiana State University where he was admitted to their Honors Program.  In 2002, Frank graduated from the Indiana State University Honors Program with a Bachelor's Degree in Life Science and Political Science.  While in college, Frank joined the SAE fraternity. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree, Frank was admitted to graduate school where he designed and conducted a year of original Alzheimer's research.  Following his year of graduate work, he was admitted to Indiana University School of Medicine where he spent 2 years.  After deciding to leave med school he went back to college to become a high school teacher.  Frank obtained teaching licenses in every area of Life Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth-Space Science.  He also attended special classes and received certification in Project Lead the Way. Frank taught in Fremont, Indiana, where he coached football, basketball, and track.  While teaching in Bloomfield, he coached basketball, track, and the Sea Perch Academic team.  While at Bloomfield, he was chosen Teacher of the Year in 2015.  During his tenure at Bloomfield he taught Biomedical Technology as a part-time professor for Ivy Tech in Bloomington. Frank loved sports of every kind.  He spent a couple of years on the radio as the color commentator for North Knox High School Boys' Basketball.  He played 8 years in the North Knox football program, 8 years in their basketball program and 4 years in the track program.  But, most of all, he really loved the Oaktown Youth Foundation summer baseball program, which he participated in from ages 7 to 18.  As an adult, he attended several major league baseball games, especially those of the St. Louis Cardinals. Frank liked to spend time with his dog Chewy.  He liked to read books, watch movies, go fishing, and play golf.  He especially liked golfing at Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Frank liked to travel and had visited 48 of the 50 states, some multiple times.  Some of his favorite sites included the Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, New York harbor with the Statue of Liberty, the coal mines of Pennsylvania, and the Red Wood Forest in California.  He also really liked Cancun, Mexico, where he spent some of his spring breaks. Frank was kind-hearted and always willing to help someone in need.  He only saw the best in people and was sometimes too generous for his own good.  He was slow to anger and never said no to a person who needed his help. Frank was preceded in death by his sister Melinda Jae Hall. Frank is survived by his parents Frank, Sr. and Linda Hall of Oaktown, and his sister Amanda, brother-in-law Albert J. Pascavage III, niece Cassandra and nephew Albert.  He is also survived by a large extended family of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Due to the coronavirus, CoVid-19, there will be no public viewing and no funeral services. Frank, Jr. will be laid to rest beside his sister Mindy in the Oaktown Cemetery.

Jack was born in Vincennes, IN on October 29, 1936 the son of the late Carrol Dewey Mack and Velva Slaton Mack.
Jack served his country as a United States Marine and was an aircraft mechanic during his service. He was a member of the Vincennes Gun Club, Oaktown Gun Club, and French Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman.
Jack is survived by; his loving children, Henry Mack Gifford of Ill, Lorrie Byrer of Vincennes, Julie Bohnert (John) of Sebring, FL, and Robert Nicol of Bruceville; one sister, Lynne Brough of Oaktown; nine grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his wife Marilyn Jo Owens Mack in May of 2003; parents; and one sister, Alice Potts. There will be a memorial visitation on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Mariah Creek Christian Church, 9366 E. Oaktown Rd. Oaktown, IN 47561 with a memorial service immediately following at 1:00 P.M. also at the church. Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Virgil was employed by Penn-Central Railroad, Midwest Telephone Co, Contel, GTE, and Verizon; after retiring from Verizon he worked for Frontier Telephone Co.
Virgil is survived by; his loving wife, Marilyn whom he married September 1, 1990; a brother, Herbert Maurer; a sister, Wilma Cox; four sons, Richard Maurer (Jackie), Scott Maurer, Gerald Maurer, and Barry Maurer; three grandchildren, Angela, Shawn, and Kayla.
Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Lillian Smith; brothers, Edgar, Earl, Gene and Reno; two sisters, Norma Maurer and Barbara Bentley. Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 1:30 to 3:30 P.M.followed by a funeral at 3:30 P.M.Arrangements were entrusted to Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Oaktown Chapel. Karen was a member of Followers of Christ Baptist Church, and enjoyed reading her Bible. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved dogs. Karen is survived by; her two sisters, Paulette Perkinson (Ronald) of Carlisle, Lyndal Harvey (Randy) of Oaktown;; step-brothers, David and Steve Phegley; long-time friend, Ann Volle of Carlisle, several nieces, nephews; and several great nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Rowdy and Spencer;
