Virginia Lucille White - Unknown - October 01, 2021

Departed: 10/01/2021 (Union City)
Obituary Preview: Virginia Lucille White, age 89, of Rockwall, Texas went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 27, 2021, peacefully in her sleep. She was in the company of family members.
Virginia, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and wife was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gilbert Keith White, in 2016 and will be laid to rest beside him. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Kevin) Dyer of Opp, Alabama, her son Michael White of Temple, Texas, her daughter Tanya Reed of Humble, Texas and her son, Timothy White of Rockwall, Texas. She also had eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lydia Marie (Davis) Locke and Clarence Wilbur Locke of Union City, and siblings Evangeline, Violet, Clarence, and Phyllis. Her younger sister Kay (Leroy) Staley lives in Greenville, Ohio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was a creative and prolific artist. She was a writer who published poetry and fiction and wrote songs. She was an avid collector, especially of antiques and dolls, and enjoyed fishing and treasure hunting with her metal detector. She crafted and taught stained glass art, and her creations are too numerous to count.
Virginia was a committed Christian who cherished the Lord. She loved animals and children. As any child who was ever in her care will attest fondly, she had a remarkable gift for connecting with children, making them laugh and showing them how to love unconditionally, just the way she loved everyone who was blessed to be a part of her life. Those lives she touched are a testimony to her generous and loving heart. We should all carry forth that boundless love and pass it on in her memory.
Virginia was born September 10, 1932, in Coletown near Union City, Ohio where she was raised by her parents, Clarence and Marie. She married Gilbert of Winchester, Indiana on January 1, 1951. She joined him where he was stationed in Alaska, still a frontier, during the Korean War. They remained happily married, raised four children in Indiana then Texas, and celebrated their 65th anniversary just before his passing in 2016.
