Meredith will be laid to rest following funeral services in the Perpetual Park Cemetery.

Clarence Craig, Sr. was born on January 12, 1923, in Franklin, LA to the late Susiana Marshall Davis and Isaiah Craig. He was the youngest of four children. Clarence passed away peacefully into a new life on April 21, 2021, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
A kind, loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Clarence will be remembered as a faithful servant. Clarence was baptized by Reverend Buckner at an early age at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Franklin, Louisiana. He joined Triumph Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Octave Vincent and earned his preacher’s license in February 1963. Clarence remained a devoted Christian throughout his life often sharing his love for the Lord and wise counsel.
A proud military veteran, Clarence enlisted in the United States Navy serving during World War II. He returned to Franklin working as a journeyman and mechanic. Later, Clarence was employed by Halter Marines Industries, St. John Academy, and Winn Dixie until he retired. He was recognized by the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs in 1987 for his outstanding work ethic and service to the community. In 2014, Clarence was presented with a Black Achievement Award by the Broussard-Harris Committee for living a purpose-driven life.
Clarence was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. A. C. Marshall and Eliza Marshall; parents, Susiana Marshall Davis and Isaiah Craig; sisters, Rebecca Johnson and Florence Stewart; brother, Herbert Rawster (Rebecca); wife, Laura Conley; daughter, Lilly Craig; and son, Larry Craig, Sr.
