Robbie was also a proud uncle to Rey, Mason, Owen, Ezlee, and Leena, whose lives he enriched with his playful spirit and unwavering affection. His loyal dog, Smokey, was a constant companion and source of joy in his life.
A proud graduate of Greenfield High School in 2006, Robbie was well-regarded by his peers and teachers alike for his kindness and dedication. She is survived by her children, Frank Jr. (Jennifer) and Nicholette; brother Bobby (Susan); grandchildren Frankie, Brandon, Bennett, Sydney, Carson, Hailey (Jaelin), and great-grandson Walker; cousin Sally; and cherished friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Florence Masiak and husband Frank. Her family extends its deepest thanks to her caregivers over the years, including Janice and, until the very end of her life, Judith and Jen.
Born in Menominee, Michigan, Karen moved with her family to Milwaukee as a young girl. She graduated from Cudahy High School in 1961 and started work at the Allen-Bradley factory. After marrying her high-school sweetheart Frank, she had Frank Jr. and started the family she would love for the rest of her life. As Karen worked alongside Frank, playing a crucial role in the growth of his businesses, her dedication to those around her was unmatched--yet she never forgot how to have a good time.
Karen was brave as she faced repeated health obstacles over the years. Through challenge after challenge, she not only persisted but seemed to come back with greater desire to live life with positivity. Whether reading her historical fiction novels, crocheting blankets for all the grandchildren, or taking weekly piano lessons well into her seventies, she never quit doing the things she loved.
Most important to Karen, though, was her family. She put the needs of everyone else above her own, and her heart was filled when she was with her children and, especially, her grandchildren. She created wonderful memories of crowded holiday dinners, sleepovers at Grandma's house, and her homemade spaghetti and meatballs with enough leftovers for everyone.
Karen will be deeply missed by the many whose lives she touched. As she rests peacefully with the Lord, free of physical pain and suffering, may we honor her memory by treating one another with kindness. In Karen's memory, consider a gift to her favorite charities the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the ASPCA.

Robert W. MacDonald - September 08, 1949 - March 17, 2024

Departed: 03/17/2024 (Franklin)
Obituary Preview: Robert W. "Bob" MacDonald, affectionately known to many as "Pops," "Mac," or simply "Bob," found peace on March 17, 2024, at his home in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Born on September 8, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Bob's life was a testament to the joy of family, the value of friendship, and the pursuit of passions.
Bob's journey began as the beloved son of Marjorie and Wallace MacDonald, and he grew up surrounded by the love and guidance of his parents and his cherished Aunt Ruth and Uncle Jake Fischer, all of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding his death were Robert (Pat) Hotton and Gloria Hotton, his loving in-laws. His life was further enriched by his marriage to his devoted wife, Mary (Nee Hotton), with whom he shared 32 and a half years of laughter and love. Together they cherished a family that was the center of Bob's world: his son Bruce (Jan) MacDonald and their children Jon, Jack, and Charlie; his daughter Candace (Mike) Jorgensen and their son Mitchell (Dennis) Jorgensen. Bob also shared a special bond with his "sister" Sue (Nee Hotton) (Jeff) Harrison. His family also included Gypsy (the dog) and Romeo (the cat) who both held a special place in his heart.
Bob's professional life was marked by graduating from UW Milwaukee with a bachelor degree in English and he became a Purchasing Manager at Miller Compressing, where he made countless friends over his 32-year tenure. His expertise was recognized with a CPM certification, and he cherished his time as a consultant at Waukesha Iron and Metal. Bob's work ethic and dedication to his career were only matched by his commitment to his community and the love he had for his family and friends.
An avid golfer, hunter, and outdoorsman, Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a regular at his cabin in the Northwoods. He enjoyed trap shooting and reveling in the beauty of nature. Bob's competitive spirit shone through in his love for playing cribbage and cards, and he was a valued member of the Edgewood Strokers Golf League. His love for sports extended to being an avid Wisconsin sports fan, cheering on his favorite teams with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life.
Bob's sense of humor was legendary, and he was always ready with an Ole & Lena joke to bring a smile to everyone's face. His laughter was infectious, and his presence at family gatherings was a guarantee of a good time. Bob's adventures took him to Alaska, Canada, New Zealand, and the Caribbean, and in his younger days, he enjoyed playing softball and racquetball.
In a testament to his strength and resilience, Bob was a kidney recipient four years ago. His gratitude for this gift of life was profound, and in his honor, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to UW Madison Kidney transplant center in his honor.
Bob's life was a gift not only to himself but to all who knew him. He packed 74 years with as much love, laughter, and adventure as possible, considering every moment a precious opportunity. His legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and an incredible sense of humor that will be dearly missed by his extended family and many friends.
We are devastated by the loss of Robert W. MacDonald, but we are immensely grateful for the full and vibrant life he lived. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will be cherished forever. Bob's life was a beautiful journey that touched the hearts of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
