Flapper was born on October 23, 1950, a son of the late Jesse Crabtree and Imogene (Davis) Burgess. On August 19, 1993, he married Stacey Lankford in Tompkinsville, KY. Flapper graduated from Gamaliel High School in 1969. He worked at Eaton Axle for 28 years before opening Flappers Market in Fountain Run, where he worked and managed for 10 years. He was of Baptist Faith. Flapper is survived by his wife, Stacey Lankford Burgess, of Fountain Run, KY; his children, Casey Powell (Joseph), of Carthage, TN; Darin Burgess (Kellie) of Chickasha, OK; Brandy Parker, of Fountain Run, KY; Jesse Burgess (Shelby) of Fountain Run, KY; Isaac Burgess (Cierra) of Gamaliel, KY; ten grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Burgess (Judy), of Gamaliel, KY; three sisters, Diana Bean (Roger) of Red Boiling Springs, TN; Joyce Gentry (Louis) of Lafayette, TN; and Carol Downing (Richard) of Scottsville, KY.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Crabtree and Imogene Burgess; his first wife, Carole Morris Burgess and daughter, Rhonda Burgess.

She was born in Lamb, Kentucky on January 9, 1932, to the late Willie Eugene and Mabel Hunt Smith, and was a member of Hebron Lane Church of Christ and retired from Alhom, Inc. as a window glazer. Margaret was an excellent seamstress, loved gardening and baking for family and friends. She loved her cats and was an avid bird watcher. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Eaton; sister, Juanita Doolin; brothers, Everett and Rex Smith; three brother-in-laws, Clifton Gosnell, Mike Steenbergen and Foster Doolin; niece, Jacqueline Borders; nephew, Michael Smith. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Donna Duke (Aaron); granddaughter, Melissa Eaton (Craig); two sisters, Ruby Gosnell and Dianne Steenbergen; two brothers, Ray Smith (Janice) and Carroll Smith (Nell); and a host of other family and friends. The family wishes to thank the team at Hosparus of Louisville for their excellent and compassionate care. She worked as a nurse’s aide for many years at nursing homes.
She is survived by daughter, Dora Marie Flowers & Chuck Langwell of Fountain Run, KY, son, Leroy Bruce Markley & wife Stephine of Milford, WV, 4 grandchildren, Zachary Joseph & Noah James Markley & Eric Logan & Brodi Ann McCoy, sister, Judy Ann Markley of OH &. Brothers, Michael Dell Mills of Buchannon, WV & Raymond Carl Mills of Clarksburg, WV
She will be missed by all her family & friends.

Obituary Preview: Hazel Mae (Cleary) Murley, 96, of Burkesville, KY, formerly of Fountain Run, KY, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Cumberland County Hospital. Hazel was born on March 10, 1925, a daughter of the late Richard and Annie Bera (Murphy) Cleary.
On April 3, 1939, she married Stanley Murley. They had been married 47 years at the time of his passing in March of 1986.
In 1939, Hazel was baptized at the age of 14 at Glasscock Branch in Monroe County, KY. She was a member of Elbow Church of Christ. Hazel is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Settle of Fountain Run, KY; four sons, Royce Murley of Scottsville, KY; Bobby Murley (Linda) Fountain Run, KY; Jerry Murley (Estelene) of Gamaliel, KY and Ricky Murley (Kathy) of Lucas, KY; two daughter-in-law’s, Betty Murley and Linda Murley, both of Fountain Run, KY; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, 1 step great-great grandchild, 2 step great-great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Della Canada, of Indianapolis, IN and Carolyn Ann Cleary of Tompkinsville, KY; and one brother, Patton Cleary, of Tompkinsville, KY.
Hazel is preceded in death by five children, James Murley (Edna Mae), Leonard Murley, Mary Curtis (Delano), Susie Firkins, Floyd Murley; 3 grandchildren, Cynthia Stinson, Christina Cauthen and John Murley;  a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Murley; four brothers, Harley Cleary, Marlin Cleary, Lecil Cleary and Dennis Cleary; and two sisters, Pauline Rhoton and Zella Thacker.
Funeral services will be held at Fountain Run Funeral Home on Friday, February 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM, with burial to follow at Fountain Run Cemetery. Brother Tim Eaton will officiate.
Visitation will be held Thursday 2:00-8:00 PM and Friday, 8:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Fountain Run Funeral Home.

Barbara was born August 25, 1933 in Barren County, KY, a daughter of the late Vestal and Ivy (Slaughter) Hall. On April 29, 1952, she married William Linzey Strode, who preceded her in death on January 19, 2017. Barbara was a 1950 graduate from Austin Tracy High School. During her life, she worked at many places. Her working career started at the National Store in Fountain Run, KY, then went to the ASCS office in Glasgow, KY, she then worked as a teacher’s aide at Austin Tracey, later at the toll both at Bon Ayr, and finished her public work as a desk clerk at Barren River State Park. She was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Barbara is survived by a daughter, Lynn Strode, of Gamaliel, KY; a son, David Strode (Dan), of Smiths Grove, KY; grandson, Rob Crowe (Lorie); four great grandchildren, Olivia, Madison, Kendall and Ethan; sister-in-law, Frankie Hall; several extended family members on both the Hall and Strode sides of the family; and three caregivers, Myra, Carolyn and Heather.
Other than her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a sister, June (Hall) Strode, and brother, Billie Hall.
Funeral services will be held at Fountain Run Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Fountain Run Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Fountain Run Funeral Home.

Mae Van (Craig) Petett, 90, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Friday, November 12th, on what would have been her 66th wedding anniversary. Mae Van passed away at her home peacefully with her daughters by her side.
Mae Van was born in Monroe County, KY on October 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Amie (Proffitt) and Glen Monroe Craig.
Mae Van was a teacher for 38 years. She began her teaching career at Austin Tracy in Barren County but most of her career was spent teaching Home Economics at Tompkinsville High School. She was a member of Tompkinsville First Baptist Church.
On November 12, 1955, she married Cecil Petett, who preceded her in death on February 2, 1986.
Mae Van is  survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cecilia and Jeff Stephens and Sheila and Lenneth Bryant; 4 grandchildren, John Michael Stephens, Chris Bryant, Cecilea Hale, and husband, Jordan, and Landon Bryant, and wife, Holly, and one great granddaughter, Luna Page Bryant.
Mae Van is also survived by three sisters, Willodean Carter, of Tompkinsville, KY;  Laverne Pinkley, of Tompkinsville, KY;  Glenda Gregory, of Fountain Run, KY and a brother, Jimmy Craig, of Gamaliel, KY.
Other than her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Craig; and brother, Earl Lawrence Craig.   Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 15th at Tompkinsville First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Sunday, November 14, from 4-7 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, and Monday, November 15 from 9:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Tompkinsville First Baptist Church.

On September 6, 1968, he married Brenda Stephens in Overton County, TN. Ron was a Baptist Pastor for 58 years and had been a Pastor at five different churches. He currently was the Pastor at Fountain Run First Baptist Church. He worked in construction for 42 years. He was loved by all that knew him and God's presence shined throughout him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Brenda Norrod, of Fountain Run, KY; two nephews, Mike Norrod, and wife Leslie and Steve Norrod, and wife, Dora, both of Monterey, TN.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Lee Norrod; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Anna Norrod.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4-7 P.M. at Fountain Run Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16 at 7:00 PM. at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown, TN. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4-7 P.M. at Mundy Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Richards Cemetery in Grimsley, TN on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM.

Shelby was born in Monroe County, KY, December 4, 1939 the son of the late Paul & Olean (Crabtree) Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margie McDonald & brother, Maxie Lawson.
He was a high school graduate of Gamaliel High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp.  Sixth Fleet from October 12, 1958 until being honorably discharged October 12, 1962. He rose to the rank of corporal in just 4 years and was one of 14 marines stationed abroad 4 Navy ships, some being air craft carriers. His fleet usually consisted of 72 – 78 ships that were on good will tours of the U.S. and part of Europe visiting 32 countries.  Shelby married Janice Leanne Proffitt January 5, 1963 in Springfield, TN.  He enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was artistic and very mechanically inclined.  He also had a very keen sense of direction and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, belonging to Graham Lodge 208 and of the Baptist faith. Early in his life he enjoyed being with his family, shooting skeet and fishing.
His survivors include his wife of 57 years, Janice (Proffitt) Lawson of Fountain Run, daughters & sons-in-law, Connie & Todd Pruitt of  Kernersville, North Carolina & Celeste & Paul Shearer of Franklin, TN, grandchildren, Caleb Pruitt & wife Leah of Greensboro, North Carolina & Erin Pruitt of Charlotte, North Carolina & Presley Anne Shearer of Franklin, TN, great-granddaughter, Hadley Pruitt of  Charlotte, North Carolina, sister, Shirley Pruitt of Douglasville, GA & 2 sisters-in-law, Linda Gordon of Louisville, KY & Pat Proffitt of Gamaliel, KY & many extended family & friends.

He was born August, 10, 1943, in Barren County, KY to the late Hershel and Maurice (Witt) McIntyre. Frankie was the middle child of three, he along with his older brother, Freeman, and younger sister, Carolyn, grew up on a farm in Barren County, KY that he liked very much.
He met Anita White in the early sixties and was married in 1964. Together they had three children, Darren Stacy and Blake. Frankie worked for Houchens Market for 22 years, then worked for G.E. for 18 years, and farmed. He was a member of Fountain Run First Baptist Church and loved his church family very much. Frankie loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, riding horses, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Anita McIntyre; three sons, Darren McIntyre, and his wife, Amelia, Stacy McIntyre, Blake McIntyre, and his wife, Haley; six grandchildren, Tayler Hall, and husband, Casey, Amber McIntyre, and fiancé, Joseph Rushing, Trace, Allison, Kylie and Emmy McIntyre, and one great grandchild, Tucker, all of Fountain Run, KY. Also surviving is one brother, Freeman McIntyre, and wife, Mary, of Glasgow, KY, one sister-in-law, JoAnn Mitchell, and husband, Mike, of Bowling Green, KY, and one brother-in-law, Winston Cunningham, of Scottsville, KY, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Cunningham, and brother-in-law, Leslie White.
