Obituary Preview: Joyce K. Guyette, age 94, resident of Adams, formerly of Lacona, passed away Saturday at Summitt Villages in Watertown. Joyce was born December 7, 1929, in Orwell, the daughter of Emil and Kathleen Gibbs Weisenburger. She graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1948. Joyce was married to her husband of 42 years, Paul Guyette on August 8, 1948, and he passed away May 20, 1991. She was employed by Empsall’s Department Store in Watertown for 25 years, retiring in 1993.
Surviving are one son, Kirk (Lee) Guyette of Pulaski, two daughters, Sandra Hughs of Bluffton, SC and Sherry (Ray) Batson of East Philadelphia, PA, a sister, Karen Bacon of Casa Grande, AZ, grandchildren, Christopher J. Hughs and Julia Hughs Rolando, great-granddaughter, Piper Rolando, two nephews, E. Frederick Weisenburger and Robert Bacon and two nieces, Debi Weisenburger Johnson and Bridgette Bacon Perea. Joyce was predeceased by her brother Walter Weisenburger in 1969, daughter Colleen Guyette in 2005 and great-granddaughter, Phoebe Rolando in 2012.
A graveside service be held, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18th, at South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Services in care of Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.

Ross was born April 28, 1954, in Norfolk, VA, the son of Charles and Thelma Strough Davis. He attended Redfield and Sandy Creek Schools. Ross was married to his wife of 49-years, LuAnn Ouderkirk, on July 28, 1973, and she passed away on September 28, 2022. He was employed by International Wire in Williamstown for over 40 years, retiring in 2016. Ross loved playing Bingo, especially at Turning Stone. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching sports and western movies.
Surviving, are two children, Anne (Ryan) Cool of Mohawk and Daniel (Shirley) Davis of Redfield, one brother, Roy Davis of Redfield, three sisters, Fay Madigan of Fairport, LaVina Engle and Linda Henderson both of Richland, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ross was predeceased by two sisters, Carol Bristol and Katie Albrecht.
Calling hours will be held, Monday, April 15th from 10a.m. to noon at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, located at 52 Park Street, Pulaski. A graveside service will follow immediately at Redfield Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Susan N. Brosnan, 86, of Altmar, NY, died peacefully on March 27th in Oswego. Sue was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and gentle friend to many. Sue was born on April 27, 1937, in Volney, NY. She was adopted by Arthur and Margaret Newman of Syracuse where she spent her childhood before residing in Port Ontario, Cicero, and Clay. For the past 45 years, Sue lived in Altmar.
Sue graduated from Nottingham High School in Syracuse, NY, in 1955, and attended Syracuse University. She had many interesting jobs, but her favorites were bus driver for North Syracuse Central and APW School Districts and Town Clerk and Tax Collector in Altmar. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, attending theatrical performances, birdwatching, camping, traveling to view nature, and being the best dog Mom. She was an avid reader and devoted volunteer at the Pulaski Public Library for more than 20 years, receiving the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for her 4,000+ hours of service as a member of Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).
Sue is survived by her children Wendy Sunlight, Mark (Michele) Spath, Todd (Carol) Spath, and Eric (Lori Halstead) Spath; grandchildren, Tim (Carolyn) Spath, Melanie (David) Vincenzi, Laura (Andy Horton) Spath, and Derek (Emma) Spath; and great granddaughter Jane Spath. She is also survived by sister Linda Newman, nieces Lisa, Christina, and Stephanie, the Ammann family, and countless cherished friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gerald J. Brosnan and her parents Arthur, Margaret, and Elizabeth Newman.
No services will be held according to Sue’s wishes. Contributions can be made in Sue’s memory to your favorite charity. Obituary Preview: Joyce Ann Miller, age 89, life resident of Fernwood, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 23rd. Joyce was born April 20, 1934, in Pulaski, the daughter of William and Ella Calkins Webb. She graduated from Pulaski Academy Schools in 1951. Joyce was married to her husband of 69-years, Herbert Miller on October 2, 1954, and he passed away, November 22, 2023. She was a homemaker and loved baking and cooking for her family and friends. Joyce was always active, and she enjoyed bike riding and walking. She was a longtime Avon representative. Joyce and her husband also spent many winters in Florida throughout their retirement.
Joyce was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Colosse, and a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Pulaski. She was also a member of the church choir and loved to sing and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Surviving, are her daughter, Jodi Miller of Fernwood, daughter in-law Wendy Miller and grandson, Chad (Celeste) Metott all of Mexico, sister, Shirley Bellows of Charlotte, NC, and sister in-law, Connie Webb of Fernwood. Joyce was predeceased by her son, Todd Miller, brothers, Jerry, Donald and David Webb and sister, Muriel Halsey.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, March 28th at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 2604 US Route 11, Parish, NY with burial in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Obituary Preview: Donna Faye Shawcross, 80, passed away on February 29, 2024, surrounded throughout her last days by loving family and friends.
As a wife, mother, and “Nana”, none could match her devotion to those she called family. She had many hobbies that will live on forever, with photos of wedding cakes, handmade costumes for grandchildren, still hanging in closets, and patchwork quilts covering walls and beds.
Donna graduated from Watertown High School in 1960, married John and adventured the country while he served in the USNR and Air Force. She worked with special education students at South Jefferson, where she eventually retired from.
Donna is survived by her husband, John, whom she was married to for 60 years; her children, Kris (Gayle) Shawcross, Kraig (Cathy) Shawcross, and Diana (Gary) Carland; her brothers, David Reese and Robert Reese; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: G. Grover Britton, age 95, life resident of Williamstown passed away Sunday at his home. Grover was born July 25, 1928, in Altmar, the son of Fredrick and Roxanne Trumble Britton. He attended Altmar Union School. Grover served in the United States Navy from 1945 until 1947 and was stationed in the South Pacific aboard the USS Sierra where he earned a Purple Heart. He was married to his wife of 57-years, Faylene Balch, on November 4, 1948, and she passed away in 2005. Grover was employed by Camden Wire for 40-years, retiring in 1989.
Grover was a life member and past Commander and County Commander of the Williamstown Legion #1128. He was also a member of the VFW #136 and the Stilbrook Fish and Game Club. Grover was a volunteer with the Williamstown Fire Department for 10 years, serving as the Fire Police Capitan. He enjoyed the outdoors, and spent time gardening, hunting and fishing.
Surviving, are three daughters, Belva Comins (George) of Pulaski, Cathleen (Bruce) Smith of Parish, and Teresa (Dale) Reid of Lacona, three sons, Grover (Kathleen) Britton of Dunellen, FL, Richard (Marcia) Britton of Williamstown, and Terry Britton of Williamstown, siblings, Louis Britton, Jackie Britton, Peter Britton, Alice Eldred and Phoebe Wheeler, 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Grover was predeceased by one son, Fredrick Britton, two daughters in-law, Candy Britton and Elaine Britton, and two great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Joshua.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, February 15th at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a spring burial in Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be held from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Obituary Preview: Velma G. Short, age 89, formerly of Tonawanda, NY, passed away February 10, 2024, at Shipley Living in Wilmington, Delaware. Velma was born March 24, 1934, in Oswego, NY, the daughter of George E. and Laure Mae Forbes Gardner. She attended Altmar High School and State University Teachers College, Oswego. Velma was married to her husband of 58 years, Julian Short on July 17, 1954, and he passed away in 2012. She was an active member at St. Amelia’s Church, had perfect 10-year attendance with the local bowling league, and was a long-time Election Inspector in Tonawanda. Velma was also past president and a member of the Home Bureau Program for many years. Her home-made pies and decorated cakes were legend. After she quietly put her household in order, she would be found sitting by a window completing exquisite needlework or working on puzzles. She shared her love of reading and education with her children and was a strong supporter of the local library and public schools. Velma cared for the birds and animals in her home and yard. She was kind and gracious. Her home was warm and welcoming to friends and family.
Surviving, are two daughters, Jennifer Short (Jerome) of Glen Mills, PA, and Victoria Short (Arnold Thomas) of Underhill, VT, two sons, Alexander Short (Wayne) of Arlington, VA, and Kevin (Judy) Barry of Tonawanda, NY, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John (Grace) Gardner of Adams, NY sister in-law, Florence Gardner and brother in-law, Wayne Dealing both of Altmar, NY. Velma was predeceased by her brother, Warren Gardner and sister Lorelei Dealing.
A funeral mass will be held, 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 13th at Christ Our Light Parish, 23 Niagara Street, Pulaski with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, prior to the mass. Family and friends are invited to a reception at the Half-Shire Historical Society, 1100 CR 48, Richland, NY immediately following the burial.

Jack was married to Marry Gebhardt Butler on August 15, 2009. He worked as a Painter for 30 years with the Oswego Painters Union Local #38. He was also a member of the International Painters Union, and a installed sheetrock for over 50-years. Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and his family.
Surviving, are his wife, Marry Ellen Butler, children, Kristine (Mark) Lopez, Mitch (Samantha) Butler, Ben Butler (Christy Nyguyen), bonus sons, Matthew (Elizabeth) Scott, Mike (Nick Rose) Scott, grandchildren, Brian Farrow, Elyonna Grace Butler, Cooper Otto Butler, Alya Indigo Scott, Trinity Nyguyen, siblings, Carol (Mike) Nevidomsky, Bruce (Nancy) Butler, and Jim Butler. Jack was predeceased by his brothers, Ron and Larry Butler, sister in-law Teresa Butler and grandson, Brad Farrow.
A celebration of life will be held at the Williamstown American Legion, 8 Vida Dr, Williamstown, NY, on Sunday, February 18th, at high noon, in typical Jack Butler style. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.

She loved spending time in the warm weather with her family having fun and cookouts. Linda loved her three cats and two birds very much.

She was married to Thomas Wadsworth in March of 1991.
Mary was employed by CareGivers Home Care of Watertown for over 30 years. She was an avid Star Trek fan who also enjoyed doing word searches, crossword puzzles, and plastic canvas. She was a die hard Yankees fan, enjoyed classic country, and loved to play BINGO.
Surviving, are her husband, Tom of Black River, two sons, Frederick (Sandra) Wadsworth of Deer River, Francis Wadsworth (Dawn Werkheiser) of Black River, a sister, Alice Dana of Altmar, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by four sisters, Elaine, Jeanette, Patricia and Olivia.

He enjoyed making chili and he and Mary also enjoyed making wine together. Brad loved his animals, especially his beloved cat, Horatio Kane.

Bernard M. Trumble - August 16, 1939 - January 31, 2024

Obituary Preview: Bernard M. Trumble, age 84, of Camden, NY passed away January 31, 2024, at Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, NY. He was born in Altmar, NY on August 16, 1939, to Myrul and Gladys Trumble. Bernie graduated in 1957 from APW. He began employment as a laborer in construction, eventually being promoted to Superintendent for Lane Construction. He worked in several different states with Lane, often with his wife, Alice, as Office Manager. Bernie was a life-time member of NYS Trappers Assoc. and National Rifle Assoc. He was an avid sportsman, trapper hunter and fisherman. He was often called to solve beaver problems and his family and friends often called him “The Trapper” or “The Great White Hunter.” He was always available to lend a helping hand to friends and relatives, whatever the project entailed.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Wiggins Trumble, daughters, Cathy Trumble Cushman and Tami Trumble; grandchildren Natalie Curran, Alexander (June) Cushman, great grandchildren, Rhys & Rhiannon Curran, Grady Cushman and Conner Reese as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Frank and Spencer.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 6th at the Abundant Life Church, 86 Mexico Street, Camden, NY with a spring burial in the Williamstown Fairview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Paul and Alma King of Syracuse and William and Jane Irons of E. Syracuse and his brother, Mark King in 2021.

Jay was married to his wife, Michele Gabriel Smith on September 2, 2000. He was employed by BonTon Glass in Syracuse, as a glazer for 20 years. He also owned and operated The Lawnsmith, a landscaping business, for 15 years. Jay was passionate about his Harley and bow hunting. He enjoyed riding with his close motorcycle friends, and spending time with his brothers at the Circle B Hunting Club in Ohio. He was also a member of the Sandy Pond Sportsmen’s Club.
Surviving, are his wife of 23 years, Michele Smith of Pulaski, his beloved pugs, Buddy, Odie and Daisy, sister Stefanie Smith Brietzke of Dansville, NY, cousins Kelly Labozetta and Michael Scott (Laura Gibbs) and Aunt Inga Jean Scott all of Pulaski and several nieces and nephews. Jay was predeceased by his parents, David and Betty Smith and his mother in-law, Linda Weckleman.
Jay’s family would like to extend a special thank you to his oncologist, Dr. Gajra and his primary Dr. Sullivan, as well as the 6th floor nurses at Crouse for their exceptional care.

Obituary Preview: Edward A. Delaney, of Pulaski, NY, passed away peacefully after a long illness December 30, 2023. Ed was born in Auburn, NY on June 21,1944, the son of Raymond and Rita Bishop Delaney. He graduated from West High School in 1963 and attended Auburn Community College before joining the army. Ed worked for P&C Food Markets for over 20 years, before working as a Nuclear Operator at Nine Mile II where he retired from in December of 2006.
Over his years in Pulaski, Ed volunteered for, and was a member of, several community organizations including the American Legion, the Lions Club, the Masons, and the Shriners. He also served as past President and Treasurer of the Ringgold Fire Department and was past President of Pulaski Little League. Ed also served as the Mayor of Pulaski from 1997 to 2008.
Ed is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elaine Heilig Delaney of Pulaski, sons Michael Delaney (Jennifer) of Pulaski, Thomas Delaney (Samantha Schapley) of Hastings, and granddaughters Emily, Grace & Kennedy Delaney and grandson Mason Delaney. Also survived by his sister Margaret LoPiccolo of Camillus, and several nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his sister Rosemary Delaney.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 5th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Foster Hax Funeral Home at 52 Park Street, Pulaski, NY. A funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church at 23 Niagara Street, Pulaski, NY, with Rev. Msgr. Francis Osei Nyarko officiating.

Obituary Preview: David R. Webb, of Pulaski passed away on December 20, just days before his 94th birthday. Dave worked for General Electric in Liverpool for 33 years, where he was Facilities Manager at the Electronics Laboratory, before becoming Plant Manager at Eagle Comtronics, retiring in 1994. He seemed able to master everything he touched. He was an accomplished restorer of antique boats, cars, tractors, radios and other vintage equipment. He spent 16 years painstakingly restoring a 1947 ChrisCraft mahogany boat which he aptly named “Labor of Love.” Together with his son Steve, he built a beautiful home in the hamlet of Fernwood as a gift to his wife. Years earlier he had built a camp on Lake Bonaparte with other family members and loved spending time at the lake. For many years his maple syrup operation each Spring drew friends and neighbors to his rural “sugar house.” He was a member of the Radio AeroModelers model airplane club, was a licensed amateur radio operator, and was an avid beekeeper. He was active in civic affairs, having served on the Pulaski school board and, until recently, on the Town of Richland Board of Assessment Review. He was proud to have been named an Honorary Alumnus of the SUNY ESF Ranger School in Wanakena, NY. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Pulaski.
Survivors include Connie Steward Webb, his wife of 42 years, sons Steven Webb and James Webb, daughter Carol Webb, grandchildren Justina Webb, Jessica (Chris) Carr, Tabatha (Paul) Smith, Christopher Webb, Robert Webb, James Webb, Jacob Webb and Daniel Peterson, great-grandchildren Damian Oliver and Kyra Smith, sisters Shirley Bellows, Marilyn Halsey, and Joyce Miller, sister-in-law Penny (David Martin) Steward, brother-in-law Steve (Susan) Steward, sister-in-law Joanne Steward, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son David W. Webb, brothers Donald Webb and Jerry Webb, and his parents Lewis and Ella Webb.
The family would like to extend its special thanks to cardiologist Dr. William Berkery for his uncommon caring and devotion to his patients and to the staff at The Cottages in Cicero for their excellent care.

Kim was a golf and culinary enthusiast and member of the of Elms Golf Club where he played in many leagues over the years.
Surviving are one son, Troy (Linda) Miller of Altamont, NY, stepchildren, Amy (Mark) Dobrzynski of Pulaski, Shane (Shelly) Peabody of Mexico, Shannon Peabody of Ponte Verde Beach, FL, and Kaitlin (Nick) Gibides of Pulaski, grandchildren, Madison, Christian, Sadie, Elliott, Hunter, Kyleigh, Cameron, Courtney, Eleanor, David and Nicholas and one brother, Eric (Jan) Miller of Guilderland. Kimball was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Murtha Miller, two children, Scott Miller and Stacy Miller Zounes.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, December 30th at St. James Episcopal Church, 24 Lake Street, Pulaski, NY 13142 with a military burial in Pulaski Village Cemetery. No calling hours will be held. Arrangements in care of Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.

Tom was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. He attended the Wave Church of Virginia Beach, where he was a volunteer for over 13 years. He read his bible every morning, loved playing his guitar, walking in the park, praying, and watching boats come and go on the Atlantic Ocean from Rudee Inlet. He used to tell the corniest jokes, but they were funny and entertaining because he thought they were funny and entertaining.
Surviving are his mother, Shirley Johnson of Pulaski, two sisters, Paula Johnson of Pulaski and Teresa (Charles) Austin of Virginia Beach, VA, and four nieces and nephews, Pauline (Zach) Dotson, Stacey (Shawn) Clark, Sarah Ward, and EJ Ward. Tom was predeceased by his father, Paul Johnson.
