Obituary Preview: Joy Lynn Willoughby, age 67 of Troy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. She was born on December 29, 1954 in Middletown, OH to the late Orville and Elizabeth (nee Kemp) Willoughby.
Those left to cherish Joy’s memory include her daughter, Elissa (Damon) Ellison of Troy; son, Christopher Calhoun of Middletown, OH; sister, Jane (Titus) Willoughby Woods of Chico, CA; brothers, James (Melinda) Willoughby of Franklin, OH and John (Jolene) Willoughby; granddaughters, Leah Ellison and Shaelyn Pelfrey; extended family, Jeremy and Lisa Evans and their son Skylar; and many other family and friends.
Joy received her bachelor’s degree from Miami University and worked as a registered nurse. She loved to paint, spend time with her family, enjoyed bird watching and nature, and had a love for animals. Joy will be remembered by many for being such a gentle soul.
The family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided by the team at Interim Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Widener, grandson Mark Dobbs, and sister Mary Kirves.
Those left to cherish Robert’s memory include his wife Stephany (Cook) Widener, whom he married July 20, 1963; daughters: Carla Widener Sola (Stephen) of Ashburn, VA, Marcy Widener Humes (Eric) of Nashville, TN, and Angela Dobbs (Timothy) of Brownsburg, IN; brother Raymond Widener of Troy; grandchildren: Timothy “TJ” Dobbs, Rachael Dobbs, Emily Sola, Hannah Humes, Christopher Sola, Zachary Humes, and Owen Widener; as well as great-grandchildren Alexandria and Jack.
Robert was a US Army veteran and a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy. He was a member of the Parish Council and taught CCD as well as worked for many years as a server for Mass. He was a graduate of Troy High School and received his Associates Degree from the University of Dayton. He was a proud bibliophile and wine enthusiast. Robert was Treasurer for the Troy Literacy Council and he also volunteered with the Troy Historical Society. He was also a member of Troy Elks #833. Robert worked and retired with General Motors after 40 years of service as a Test Engineer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30AM Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. James Duell officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Memorial donations may be given to: Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County: 3230 N. Co. Rd. 25A, Troy, OH 45373 or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

A member of Coolidge First Baptist Church and retired RN from Jay County Hospital in Portland, Indiana. She then continued as a nurse for other friends and family. She had a great love for the mountains and bringing others to Christ. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Eugene H. Kimmel, Parents: Chelsea and Lucille Clay, Siblings: Mary Jean Hobbs, John Raymond Ormes and Harry William Ormes Survived by: Nephew: Steven L. Those left to cherish Paul’s memory include his wife Delores (Clawson) Kerns; son Mark Kerns (Tonya) of Middletown; grandchildren: Abbie Markey (Pastor Tom), Aaron Kerns (Jessica), Alex Kerns (Paige), and Ally Summerlin (Sam); great-grandchildren: Ella, Eden, Easton, Ezra, Ryder, Riley, Remi, and Kemper; as well as sister Jetta Hudson Norris of Sidney.
He was preceded in death by his sister Martha Howell.
Paul was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Piqua and a graduate of Miami Central High School. He loved to play cards and hosted the Euchre games at the American Legion Post #43 in Troy. He was a lover of animals, his favorite being his Golden Retriever, Olivia.  He was a big fan of the OSU Buckeyes, the Bengals, and the Reds. Paul had a green thumb and even received the title of Master Gardener from a course at Ohio State. He enjoyed his yard work and was big into landscaping. He had a passion for farming and was able to buy the family farm, of 110 acres, from his dad. Farming had an impact on Paul’s collection of miniature John Deere tractors. Paul enjoyed his trips to Florida in the winter and camping. He was a restaurant enthusiast who loved trying new places with his wife. Paul also coached little league baseball. He had worked for the former Wood Shovel and Tool Company in Piqua and also for Hobart Brothers as a clerk. Paul retired from UPS in Dayton where he worked at the reception counter.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be given to your local American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home.

In addition to her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, who she married on July 15, 1955, Lowell A. Sinclair; her daughter Stephanie Mertz; 11 siblings; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Those left to cherish Esther’s memory include her daughters Cindy Adams (Jim) of Prescott, AZ, Loretta Bergren (Bruce) of Munster, IN, and Yvonne “Vonnie” Boyer (Jeff) of Troy; honorary son Paul “PC” Compliment (Marion) of Tipp City; grandchildren Jessica Low (Nate), Timothy Lowell Sinclair, Michelle Mertz, Nicole Mertz, Traci Golebeawx, Julia Conard, Misty Cotton (Howard), Cody Conard, Jodi Perry (Joe), Bobby Bergren (Kristen), and Taylor VonDuhn (Louie); great-grandchildren Jason, Lexi, Wesley, Erik, Raelee, and Brody; brother-in-law, Donald Shellabarger; sister-in-law Kay Artz; and all of her nieces, nephews, and good friends who were there to comfort her.
Esther graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1954. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her dear friends Karen Wheat and Lolita Zeller. Esther was a member of AmVets Post #88 in Troy and will miss all of her dear friends there.
The family would like to thank all the dedicated staff at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, especially her nurse Jenni and PCS Sonya who helped provide care for her on her final journey. A special thank you to Debbie (Betsy) who loved and cared for Esther in home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home with Rob Williams officiating. He is preceded in death by his father Denny and sister Diana.
Denny worked most of his career as a machinist and lastly for Miami County Maintenance. He was a member of Troy Eagles #971. Denny will be sorely missed by his friends and family.

Doris was a member of First Lutheran Church in Troy. She was a retired LPN and worked for many years at the former Dettmer Hospital and Stouder Hospital, Troy. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts and even refurbished furniture in her spare time. She loved gardening and baking as well.

Stephen "Selly" Adams - June 16, 1952 - March 06, 2022

Obituary Preview: Stephen “Selly” Adams, age 69, passed away suddenly but peacefully in his home on March 6th, 2022. Stephen spent the majority of his life as a distinguished Troy, Ohio resident after moving from his hometown of Clarksville, Tennessee. He served honorably in the US Army Reserves for nearly two decades and continued to serve his brothers-in-arms and his community through his associations with AmVets, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Troy Fish & Game, and as a proud member of the American Legion Honor Guard.
“Selly” graduated from Troy High School in 1970. He retired from a celebrated 20-year career at the Upper Valley Medical Center as a maintenance electrician and enjoyed the past several years serving with Howard Cheney at the Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home. He enjoyed a lifetime of hobbies including bowling, fishing, and golfing. He was a famously loyal Ohio sports fan and never missed the opportunity to open his home to host a party or to tell a wild story for his family and friends.
Stephen was preceded in passing by his parents Bill Adams and Jean Hedrick, as well as his stepfather John Hedrick. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kathy Adams, as well as his sister Laura (Bryan) O’Toole and her family, his son Ben Adams (Jennifer Schumpert) and his family, daughter Rachel Adams and her family, stepchildren Stacy Bisker (Brent Patterson), Lucus Bisker, Sara (Michael) Clawson, and Shannon Bisker (Noe Castillo) and their families, and lifetime friend Steve Rees, among others.
Stephen Adams was renowned in his selflessness and a rock for his family, friends, and community. He loved hard, lived fearlessly, and carried the world on his broad shoulders for so many. He will be desperately missed. “If you knew him, words aren’t needed. If you didn’t, words aren’t enough.”
“Selly” will be put to rest and honored through a Celebration of Life among family and friends at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Troy Eagles #971 where a military service will be conducted by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.

He enjoyed photography and was a HAM radio operator, his call sign was KB8ING. He worked as an electrician for DP&L and FRAM in Greenville.

Those left to cherish Jefferys memory, include his daughter, Anastasia Davis of Piqua, OH; mother, Rebecca Kiser Honeyman of Troy; sister, Jennifer (Wayne) Ball of Casstown, OH; nieces, Katie Ratcliff and her son Maxton and Amanda (Chris) North and their children Makayla and Austin; brother, Pete (Terri) Myers of Troy; his dog M, who was his best friend; and sister, Mindy (Robert) Wilson of Troy.
Jeffrey was a United States Air Force Veteran and graduated from Miami East High School in 1984. He loved to go fishing, travel and watch many different sporting events. He retired from Bridgestone and Firestone tire companies. He also retired from doing marketing for NASCAR.

Vivi  an was a member of Zion Baptist Church where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized in 2003. She attended Caring Community Women at St. James Community Church. She loved her scratch off tickets, socializing with her family especially her grandchildren, cooking and going out to eat. She loved to travel the neighborhood loop especially “Hollywood” Slab town and her old childhood home Hilltop. She was also a daycare provider for many years. Her home was a safe haven for anyone who needed help or assistance.
Vivian attended Troy High School and later obtained her GED and went on to get her Associates degree in Human Services from Edison State Community College in Piqua, OH in 1988. She worked for Miami County Residential Services where she retired from.

Kay is survived by two children, Ronda Kay Weldy and Aaron Christopher (Suzanne) Gord; daughter-in-law, Renee Gord; five grandchildren, Alisha Kay (Brenton) Scott, Joseph Ronald (Kirsten) Gord, Chelsea Maria (Chyler) Hastings, Michael Aaron Gord, and Jeffrey Allen (Katy) Gord; five great-grandchildren, Eden Hastings, Evelyn Gord, Henry Gord, Lelianna Scott, and Peter Gord, with two great granddaughters due this spring. She is also survived by one sister, Alice Mary Bintz, and nieces and nephews.
Kay loved her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, writing poetry, painting, taking care of the birds at her feeders, and tending to all her plants. She truly had a green thumb and could bring to life even the most neglected. She also loved baking and many delights were enjoyed by her family. She also loved all of her little pets and rescued many little animals over the years. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.

He is survived by two daughters, Debbie Warner, of Troy, and Pam (Rob) Ondera, of Casstown.  He was a dedicated and loving grandfather of three granddaughters, Shelley (Sparky) Stoltz of Tipp City, Kim (Dan) Rupert of Troy and Jenny (Mark) Puthoff of Naples, Florida; and grandson, Scott (Mindy) Ondera of Casstown.  He was a loving great-grandfather of 13 great grandchildren.
Marvin was a US Army Veteran, serving his country while being stationed in Japan.  He worked and retired from the Troy Police Department in 1981, after 25 years of public service.  He ended his career with the Troy Police Department as Chief of Police.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Troy.
A Private Graveside Ceremony will be held at the convenience of the family at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Contributions in Marvin’s honor may be made to Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N County Rd 25A, Troy Ohio 45373. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, OH.

Carl attended Casstown United Methodist Church and was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Troy. He was a former member of Troy Elks #833, Loyal Order of the Moose #1044 in Troy, Piqua Eagles #614, Piqua Musicians Association, a life member of the Local 576 A. F&M, a member of the Hobart Milestone Club, and the Troy Evening Optimists. He worked for Hobart Brothers for 47 years as a Superintendent before retiring in 1987. He was a charter member of the Hobart men’s bowling and golf leagues. Carl was a lifetime fiddler; he was the 1948 Ohio State champion old time fiddler and voted the number 3 fiddler in the nation at the Kentucky State Fair. He was a professor of Blue Grass fiddle music at Sinclair College. Throughout the years, Carl has played in many bands including the Rum River Blend and God’s Country. He preformed at many nursing homes, churches and festivals.
