She was born May 2, 1927 in Woodhull, Illinois to Fredrick "Brink" and Francis Johnson Nelson. Dorothy was a graduate from Woodhull High School. She married Donald A. Nelson on September 4, 1945 in the Clover Chapel Church. They were married for 61 years. She worked as a Secretary for the Mental Health Center in Galesburg for many years and was a farm wife as well.

Dorothy was a member of the Clover Chapel Church where she played piano for many years. She was also a member of the Miles S. Sturgeon American Legion Auxiliary Post #546. Dorothy loved playing cards and giving piano lessons to many people. She enjoyed bowling, reading, going to Circa 21, travelling and dancing. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Bill) Griffin of Galesburg, Illinois and Deb Jensen of Woodhull; one son, Rick (Julie) Nelson of Columbia, South Carolina; 6 grandchildren: Stephanie, Chris, Sam, Sarah, Catherine, Matthew; fourteen great-grandchildren: Molly, Sadie, Addie, Madison, Piper, Gracie, Garrett, William, Henry, Cooper, Charley, Owen, Ryan and Rose.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one granddaughter, Hilary; one sister, Darlene Waugh; one brother, Dale Nelson; and son-in-law, Jim Jensen.

Nathan was born on September 18, 1999 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Mindy Sue Welch and Nicholas Dean Seefeld. He married Lillian Raylene Parsons on November 5, 2022 in Davenport, Iowa.

He was a member of the Laborers Local Union 309. Nathan enjoyed hunting, riding dirt bikes and ATVs, driving his truck, being with his friends and family, and he loved taking his dog Cash on truck rides. He was quite the entertainer and the "holder of the talking stick".

Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Seefeld of Andover; mother, Mindy (Mark McCullough and his children Bre and Cody McCullough) Seefeld of Aledo; father, Nick (Vickie) Seefeld of Aledo; brother, Trace Seefeld of Joy; grandparents, Linda (Howard) Andress of Aledo, Lindy (Kathy Tweed) Welch of Joy; mother-in-law, Priscilla (Jay) Jones of Andover; father-in-law, Josh (Bobbi Litwiler) Parsons of Bettendorf, IA; brother-in law, J.P. Parsons; many cousins, aunts, uncles; and his beloved dog, "Cash Big Money".

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Dean Seefeld; grandmother, Janet Sue Welch, and aunt, Suzette Stephens.

Dick was born on May 21, 1935 in Aledo to Thomas S. and Edith Eddings Wilson, the youngest of three children. The son of a tenant farmer, Dick attended one room country schools and public schools all over the area, as the family moved from farm to farm. Beginning high school at ROVA, he graduated from AlWood High School in 1953, where he met the love of his life. He married Wanda Mae Nimrick on February 10, 1956 in Alpha, IL.

Dick served in the USN Sea Cadets and the US Naval Reserve from 1952-1960, attaining the rank of Engineman 2nd Class. He began his work life at Dixline Corporation in Galva, then as a lineman for Illinois Power out of Alpha and briefly as a State Farm agent before landing his dream job at John Deere Experimental in East Moline. After a 30 year career there, he retired in 1996. After his retirement, he served on the Woodhull Town Board for many years.

He was passionate about baseball in all its forms. With Ted Williams as his childhood hero, he loved and followed the Boston Red Sox all his life. He coached youth leagues in the AlWood area throughout the sixties and seventies, from Peewee to Senior League. Baseball held a very special place in his heart. Other passions included classic cars, good music, a good dinner, board games, a well maintained lawn, John Deere Green, telling stories and, above all, having his family gathered together around him.

Dick is survived by his wife, Wanda, sons Mark (Terri) Wilson of Rio, Scott (Jane Mahalik) Wilson of Normal and daughter Vicki (Randy) Stees of Geneseo, a sister, Audrey Mosher of Aledo, granddaughters Miranda (Jeff) Funk-Garrett of Washington, IL and Carissa (Mike) Funk-Wojciechowski of Dusseldorf, Germany, grandson Ian (Emera) Wilson of Marquette, MI, step grandsons Dusty (Tiffany) Stees and Brett (Linley) Stees of Geneseo, three great-grandsons, Zidane Garrett, Alistair Garrett and Alexander Wilson, step great-grandchildren, Nate, Gavin, Maddie, Kane and Rosalie Stees, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dick's caregivers at Hillcrest Nursing Home and ProMedica Hospice. The benefit of their loving care and consideration has been immeasurable during this time.
