Beatrice Josephine Strobl - Unknown - April 23, 2022

Departed: 04/23/2022 (St. Louis)
Obituary Preview: Beatrice Josephine (nee Mueller) Strobl entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 23, 2022. Known as “Bea” to everyone, she entered this world December 21, 1924. The second of four children born to Agnes and Joseph Mueller, Bea was raised in Mattese. She met the love of her life, Bob, at a young age, they were married on June 8, 1946, and put down roots close to her family. To this union, Bea and Bob were blessed with four children, Ann, Steve (Georgeann), Jim (Jan) of Florida and Joe (Carolyn) of Farmington.
Over the course of her 97 years, Bea was an avid and enthusiastic cook making many huge kettles of apple butter, trays of peach cobbler, and apple dumplings. Making jelly in her collection of baby food jars was also a cherished pastime. Bea impeccably sewed and appliquéd uniforms for Johnny Mac for many years. In addition to making custom shirts for the Disney trips, Bea was also kept happily busy by her grandchildren fixing holes, hemming pants, putting on patches, and whatever else needed to be done to clothing items. Additionally, Bea had a beautiful talent for knitting and crocheting and always had her needles in her hands. Over the years, as grandchildren were added to the family, Bea made sure every grandchild had at least one afghan custom made, including one for their babydolls.
Bea leaves behind her grandchildren, Jenny (Ron) Bailie, Becky (the late Paul) Just, Steve (Alicia), Katie, Stacey (Kevin) Smith, Amy (Mike) Kerckhoff, Kristy, Jeff (Kate), Kari (Ellis) Boswell, Elizabeth (Brian) Derickson and Michelle. Bea also has 26 great-grandchildren: Charlie and Robby Bailie, Taylor, Emily and Chase Just, Stephen III and Iris Strobl, Jessica Draper, Cody and Cyle Lingo, Luca and Gabriella Smith, MJ, Kenzie, Dylan and Ali Jo Kerckhoff, Benji, Brody, Noah and Nash Strobl, Jackson and Madison Boswell, Riley, Lucas and Lydia Derickson and Audrey Pavely. Bea epitomizes the word grandmother; sweet as can be, always happy to see them, plenty of snacks on hand, and of course they could do no wrong. “Let them be” was her common phrase when the young ones would get a little rambunctious. She was lovingly referred to as "Great-Great", a name that fit her to perfection, so great it had to be said twice. Bea was always kind and gentle, unless the Cardinals were on, then the little ones could not be around due to her “enthusiastic critiquing” of the game. She religiously kept score every single game and was for sure one of the Cardinal’s greatest fans.
To know Bea was to witness true love of life and family. She would always light up when family and friends would visit, and you knew you were in the company of an amazing and irreplaceable woman. Her life was her family, and she will be most dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. We know her beloved husband, parents and brothers were ready to welcome her home.
Visitation will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4556 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO, 63129 at 9:00am followed by a 9:45am funeral mass. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Andrew Gerald and Jo Ann Trupiano (née Adams), William Gosney and Nancy Jean Moss (née Reilly).
Tom was born just north of Chicago, IL at the Naval Station Great Lakes, Military Base on April 2, 1970. He grew up in St. Louis County, Missouri and attended too many schools to name, and graduated at McCluer High School. He attended St. Louis Community College. He volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America when he lived in Madison, Wisconsin becoming a Big Brother to a young boy named Tyrone. On June 7, 2009, he met the love of his life while visiting in St. Louis.  A few months later, he moved back to St. Louis and pursued her. The Friday evening after Thanksgiving he finally got his opportunity to spend quality time with her. He just knew at that moment that she would be his one and only wife. On October 10, 2010, Tommy married Liezl and instantly embraced her three children. The couple established their home in South St. Louis City, Missouri, adopted and raised playful pups and a puppy-like kitty cat. Tommy enjoyed traveling with his wife, driving their golf cart to Soulard, often with their dog, hitting their favorite hangout spots like The Doghaus. He enjoyed surfing the downtown city streets of St. Louis on a Lime scooter, being a seasoned Cardinals ballpark pass holder, and attending Blues and Cardinals games (in-town and out-of-town) wearing his favorite OG Natty Light beer box hat that he proudly wore capturing many sets of eyes and attention, having so much fun getting approached, stopped for photo-opps and seeing himself on the Jumbotron. Those were the highlights of his day/night. He was extremely skilled at playing cards, especially Texas Hold’em.  Axis and Allies was one of many strategy board games he enjoyed playing with his brothers. He would also play washers/darts/billiards with friends and family. He learned to garden from his mother and tinker with cars from his father. As a natural athlete, he played soccer in his youth years, was a strong swimmer and became a lifeguard manager in his young adult years. He was known to do gainers off cliffs, impromptu black flips at music events, and occasionally breakdance when DJs dropped that beat. Tommy was an avid golf player always ready for the golf course with good company. He was passionate at playing drums. He was an NFL fan and couch coach during football season and had scheduled dates with the TV on Sundays, Monday nights and Thursday nights. When his wife introduced him to fantasy football, it was a game changer for him. Tommy lived his life large, full of laughter, wit, sarcasms, and was Life of the party.  He looked forward to family gatherings and get-togethers with friends often with a drink in his hand. He was a great friend to many and was loved by many.  Tommy had a deep adoration for his family cherishing his wife and daughters, and treasured every bonding moment with them feeling truly blessed.
Mass will be held at Basilica Saint Louis, King of France (The Old Cathedral at The Arch), 209 Walnut Street, St. Louis, Missouri at 10 AM (visitation at 9 AM) on Friday, February 25, 2022, Internment at New St. Marcus Cemetery, and Celebration of Life immediately following (TBA).
