Obituary Preview: Jane E. Davidson, 70, of Auburn, Ind., passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.
She was born May 20, 1951, in Auburn, to Joseph D. and Leona H. (Crooks) Davidson.
Jane was a 1969 graduate of DeKalb High School.
She was a waitress at Richards Restaurant in Fort Wayne for 45 years, retiring in 2014.
Jane was a member of County Line Church of God in rural Auburn.
She enjoyed bowling, dancing and music.
Jane was a very giving person. She was a wonderful aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews and loved her dogs, Gretchen and Lacy.
Surviving are five brothers and their spouses, John P. and Jenny Davidson of Auburn, William A. and Mary Jane Davidson of Auburn, Robert D. Davidson of Waterloo, Daniel R. Davidson of Fort Wayne, and Michael J. and Susie Davidson of Auburn; brother-in-law, Richard Martin of Auburn; several nieces and nephews; and her very good friend, Sandy Geimer of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mary Ann Martin.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Dane Kruse will be officiating.
Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.

Obituary Preview: Karen L. Diehl, 80, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at her home in Auburn, Indiana.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1941, in Hartford City, Indiana, to Willard and Eloise (Holmes) Vachon.
Karen was a 1959 graduate of Butler High School. She then graduated from Ravenscroft Beauty College in Fort Wayne.
She married James Frederick “Fred” Diehl on May 26, 1963, in Butler, Indiana, and he survives in Auburn.
She was a teacher’s aide for DeKalb County Central School District for 31 years, retiring in 2007.
Karen was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, Friends of the Library, Auburn American Legion Post 97 Women’s Auxiliary, and a former member of Tri Kappa of Auburn.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles of all kinds and volunteering at Eckhart Public Library in Auburn.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Scott Ewaskowitz, of Weston, Wisconsin, and Debra and Rick Weathers, of Simpsonville, South Carolina; four grandsons, Nicholas Ewaskowitz, Noah Weathers, Joshua Weathers and Harrison Weathers; sister, Darla Krafft, of Butler; sister-in-law and her husband, Denise and Bill Kurtz, of Auburn; four nieces; one nephew; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Jonathan Hunter of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will take place at Butler Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ashtan T Wallace - July 20, 1986 - April 22, 2022

Obituary Preview: Auburn – Ashtan T Wallace, 35 died Friday April 22, 2022 at his home in Auburn. He was born July 20, 1986 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father and step mother are Drew and Nicole Wallace of Auburn. His mother is Paula Bowling-Deitering of Nebraska. His step father is Jon Harper of Iowa. Ashtan attended DeKalb High School and he graduated from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Nebraska in 2005. He was an U.S. Army disabled veteran and worked in the maintance department at the VA Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Auburn American Legion Post 97 and served on the Honor Guard Squad. Ashtan was a good carpenter and loved building and making things for other people, but what he loved most was working on special projects with his kids. He married Amanda Miles-Jones on November 24, 2010 and she survives in Auburn. He is also survived by a daughter and son, Haedyn Wallace and Tatum Wallace both at home in Auburn. Three sisters, Sidney Ripley and her husband Derek of Fort Wayne, Emily Wallace of Fort Wayne and Callie Harper of Omaha, Nebraska. A Memorial Service will be 4 PM, Friday April 29, 2022 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN. Obituary Preview: Lawrence Dale Kinsey Sr., 88, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at The Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.
He was born April 25, 1933, in Harlan, Indiana to Dale Morris and Lydia Elizabeth (Nusbaum) Kinsey. He was a 1951 graduate of Harlan High School. Lawrence married Nancy Jane Bauer on August 22, 1953, in Harlan, and she passed away August 23, 2021.
He was a self-employed drywall contractor and painter for 45 years, retiring in 1998. He also was a farmer from 1964 until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church.
Surviving is two children, Linda (Dean) Alexander of Greenville, Ohio, and Lawrence (Dayle) Kinsey Jr. of Spencerville; four grandchildren, Dustin Errol Alexander, Heather Marie (Nathan) Sparks, Jesse Loren Alexander and Arielle Elizabeth (Mitch Kerr) Kinsey; two great grandchildren, Elijah Gabriel Sparks and Ethan Jonah Sparks; and two brothers, Norman Joseph (Noreen) Kinsey of Spencerville and Morris Dale Kinsey of Manchester, New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Margaret Miller, Doris Smead and Harriet Voirol; and his twin brother that past away at birth, Loren Kinsey.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Bill Weaver officiating. Burial will take place at Scipio Cemetery in Harlan.

Joseph George Reynolds Jr. - February 08, 1955 - April 15, 2022

Joseph Reynolds, age 67, died April 15, 2022 at his home in Auburn, surrounded by family, after being diagnosed with brain cancer in the summer of 2020.
He was born on February 8, 1955, to Joseph and Annalee (Southerland) Reynolds, in Marion, Indiana. His family moved around northern Indiana during his childhood, and he graduated from West Noble High School in 1973. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Management from Anderson College in 1978, and another Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne in 1985.
He worked many jobs in his lifetime. Farm hand, construction worker, lifeguard, YMCA pool director, children’s home parent, and bus driver were some of his early jobs, but he made a fulfilling and successful career in IT. He worked at Rieke Packaging Systems from 1989-1999 and Biomet from 1999-2020. He enjoyed his work and was loved and respected by his coworkers. He was the recipient of many Impact Awards, which were given to those nominated for going above and beyond the expectation to make a big impact on a project or everyday work.
Joe had a kind and reserved exterior, but those who knew him best saw his adventurous streak. While he liked his job, he loved his travels and motorcycles. While attending Anderson College, he got to travel to France, Israel, Grand Cayman, and Peru. Later in life he made many more international trips, including to China, Mexico, and Western Europe, and countless road trips around the US with friends and family. Motorcycles were a lifelong passion. Even after he was hit by a drunk driver while riding in 1979, he continued to fix and ride motorcycles as long as he could. Joe was a great athlete his whole life. He held a high school pole vaulting record that stood for decades and participated in four sprint triathlons in his 60s.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39. Joe had a strong Christian faith and was an example of integrity in all things. After being diagnosed with brain cancer he was very content with the full life that he had lived and the assurance of his salvation in Jesus Christ.
Joe married Julie Hartman on September 14, 1985. He was very proud of their three children and guided them with his example of kindness and integrity.
Joe is survived by his wife of 36 years, Julie Hartman; children, Wesley Reynolds, Sarah (Dan) Preuett, and Emily (Markus) Graf; grandchildren Amelia Preuett and Chloe Graf; siblings, Teresa Reynolds, David Reynolds, and Jefferson Reynolds, and their families.
Visitation will be at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, April 18, 2022.  Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday afternoon prior to the funeral service at County Line Church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Samuel Mills, Big Lake Church of God, at County Line Church of God on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00pm, 7716 North County Line Rd East, Auburn, Indiana 46706.
Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Corunna.

She was born May 12, 1928 in Fremont to Vern G. and Enola Marie (Hutchins) Hufnagle. Freida worked for 45 years for Messenger Corporation in Auburn. She loved to play cards, especially Euchre, Square Dancing, fishing, boating and mushroom hunting. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her family. Special Thanks and appreciation go out to Shannon Roe and her team. She married John S Frain on August 1, 1947 in Garrett and he died November 17, 2011. Surviving are 2 daughters and a son, Trudy (Jerry) Webb of Butler, Dennis (Pat) Frain of Churubusco and Donna Frain of Fort Wayne; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 more arriving in September. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Darrin Webb, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Lloyd William France, Jr. - October 01, 1929 - April 15, 2022

Obituary Preview: Lloyd William France, Jr., age 92 passed quietly April 15, 2022 at home with his family.
He was born at home in Fort Wayne on October 1, 1929 to parents Lloyd William France Sr. and Virgle (Sampson) France.  He was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in Fort Wayne.
After high school he served in the Marine Corps Reserves.  Following his term with the Marines, he was then drafted into the Army where he served in the Signal Corps in Korea during the war.
After returning home he trained as a medical technologist, as well as becoming one of the earliest registered medical cytologists in the country. He worked at the old Lutheran Hospital on Fairfield Avenue for over 30 years, most of that as chief medical technologist overseeing day to day operations of the laboratory and blood bank.
In 1958, he married Marie L. Weaver at the Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne.   They selflessly raised 3 children.  They never gave them everything they wanted, but gave them everything they needed to be successful in life.
After retiring, they built a home in DeKalb County where he resided for the rest of his life.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed transforming and maintaining their property.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Patricia Armstrong, Diana Spillers and Donald, as well as newborn son Joseph.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, children Lloyd (Mary-Lynn), Jeannine (Marc) Bailey and Margo (Ronald) Nicolet as well as four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was a member of Saint Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Waterloo Indiana.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1098 CR 39 in Waterloo.
Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery following the funeral mass.

Raymond N. Castator - July 12, 1963 - April 15, 2022

Obituary Preview: Raymond N. Castator, 58, of Ashley, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
He was born July 12, 1963, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Robert W. and Carroll L. (Wade) Castator. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives.
Raymond was a 1982 graduate of DeKalb High School.
He was a certified mechanical technician for Associated Material Handling in Fort Wayne. He also was a volunteer firefighter for the Ashley-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years.
Raymond was a member of the Summit City Jeep Club in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed working in his garage, mowing the yard and going to Waterloo to watch the trains pass through, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his two children, Austin and Bailey.
Surviving is a son, Austin T. (Ellen) Castator of Auburn; daughter, Bailey J. Castator of Ashley; Ray's former wife and the mother of his children, Tonya (Moser) Castator, of Ashley; four siblings, Wade (Bev) Castator of Waterloo, Bobbie (Mike) Voss of Pierceton, Valerie Castator of Garrett and Anne (Dana) Treesh of Auburn; 13 nieces and nephews, Jessica Boyd, Chester Castator, Dawn Green, Heather Steffen, Nicholas Steffen, Daniel Voss, Heather Voss, Cameron Voss, Eric Treesh, Jarrid Treesh, Tyler Wilson, Chelsea Marshall and Allison Urick; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Sheila Peacock; and niece, Victoria Steffen.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior the service at the funeral home. Chris Pranger will be officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery in rural Waterloo. Raymond loved Jeeps, so there will be a Jeep procession to St. Michael’s Cemetery after the service on Saturday.
Visitation also will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: Carolyn J. Warner, age 86 of Auburn and formerly of Englewood, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Lutheran Life Village at Pine Valley in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Warner was born on February 27, 1936 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Scott and Mina (Quartz) Glover.
She married James C. Warner on August 30, 1979 in Auburn.  He preceded her in death on May 9, 2014.
Mrs. Warner worked as a nurse’s aide at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn for 10 years.  After her years working at DeKalb Memorial Hospital she cared for people by working in private home healthcare for 25 years.  After their retirement she and Jim lived in Englewood, Florida while spending their summers in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula near Curtis, Michigan.  After Jim passed away in 2014 she moved to Auburn to be closer to her family.  Family was very important to Carolyn.  Cooking for them and feeding them brought her much joy.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors Include:

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation on Monday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Chaplain Michael Sprunger officiating.
Burial will take place following the funeral service at Fairfield Cemetery in rural Corunna.

Ruth Doris Moreland - December 05, 1938 - April 09, 2022

Obituary Preview: Auburn - Ruth Doris L. (Kruse) Moreland, 83, joined our Heavenly Father on Saturday night at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. She was born Dec. 5, 1938 to Fred and Goldie Kruse in Auburn, IN. She graduated high school from Riverdale and received her Associates Degree from Anderson College in Anderson, IN. While raising three children with her ex-husband Jerry Moreland, who preceded her in death in 2017, Ruth Doris worked at Kruse’s, John Deer and Cooper Tire before becoming a missionary in Israel. She moved to Bethlehem in 1986 and lived there for nearly 10 years working in a home for special needs children. While living in Israel, she changed her first name to Ruth. After the Gulf War, she moved to Brampton, Ontario, where she became an active volunteer at Hope Center, a welcoming place for homeless or persons needing help. After being away from Auburn nearly 30years, she returned in December to be reunited with her family. Doris was a member of County Line Church and had faith the size of a mustard seed, which is one of the smallest seeds but when planted becomes one of the largest garden plants. Doris shared her faith and spread God’s love to many persons who crossed her path while living abroad or in Auburn. She is survived by her three children: Robert (Jodi) Moreland of Fremont, Renee (Donnie) Gould of Stuart, FL, and Randy (Amy) Moreland of Auburn; her sister Helen Rowe of Leo, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Goldie Kruse and her brothers Russell and Harold Kruse. A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 2pm at County Line Church at the Auburn campus located at. (Formerly Indian Village Church, 602 Erie Pass, Auburn, IN 46706). Visitation will be the same day from noon-2pm prior to the service. Her family asks to wear colorful Easter clothes to help celebrate Ruth Doris’ life. Amy Jo Wasnich - October 06, 1970 - April 02, 2022

Obituary Preview: It is difficult to believe but we have lost Amy Jo Wasnich in this earthly life to the ravages of COVID-19.
She was given the name, “Amy Jo”, by her adoptive parents, Al and Mary Ann Black.
Ephesians 1: 4-6 expresses the source of that name. God chose us. He planned in His purpose of love to adopt us as His own through Christ, that we can live eternally with Him, the Beloved. Amy means “beloved”.
Amy grew up in Auburn, Indiana, graduating in the first class of Faith Christian Academy in 1989. She attended Bob Jones University and Summit Christian College.
Amy was talented musically, artistically and athletically. She was the proprietor of Bake My Day Bakery.
She is survived by three loved children, Joel Earnhardt, of Dawsonville, Georgia, Noelle Earnhardt, of Garrett and Brooklynn Milligan, of Auburn; brother, Andy (Julie) Black, of Waterloo; nephews, Kevin (Taylor) Black, Konner (Lexi) Black, Jared Black and Jakob Black; mother, Mary Ann Black, of Auburn; uncle, Tim (Annette) Black, of Texas, and their family, Peggy Ann Black, of Texas, and Thomas Black, of Texas; and grandmother, Marguerite “Mimi” Black.
She was preceded in death by her father, Al Black.
Amy married Michael Wasnich on May 20, 2011, in Auburn. Amy was the stepmother to his children, Jacob Wasnich of Largo, Florida, and Joshua Wasnich, of Toledo, Ohio. Amy and Mike were living in Largo, Florida, at the time of her death.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1970, to Valerie and Michael Pittman, both deceased. Additional relatives include Shaun Kemery, Terri Sexton, Sarah Gomez, Carrie Seabert and Michelle McClain.

She was born on May 3, 1938, in Auburn, to Stanley J. and Irma L. (Hartranft) Bishop. She was a graduate of Leo High School.
Marilyn married Jerry E. Joseph on Sept. 22, 1956, in St. Joe, and he passed away on July 12, 2000.
She worked as an assembler at Magnavox in Garrett. She retired from Peerless Cleaners in Auburn, after several years of service.
Marilyn was a member of Hopewell United Brethren Church in Auburn.
Marilyn’s life was her family. She loved the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching all the sporting events and different activities they all took part in. She also loved playing Yahtzee and euchre with all of them.
Surviving are six children, Rick (Jan) Joseph, of Indianapolis, Terry (Jill) Joseph, of Carmel, Tracy (Holly) Joseph, of Avilla, JoEllen (Tim) Knott, of Garrett, Machelle (Carlson Collier) Joseph, of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Staci (Steve) Hensley, of Auburn; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Brenda Smith, of Fort Wayne and Pat (Bob) Salfrank, of Fort Wayne; and sister-in-law, Jean Bishop, of Auburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David L. Joseph; grandson, Ty Quinonez; grandson-in-law, Jake Clifford; brother, Jim Bishop; and brother-in-law, Mike Smith.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m., on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jerry Weller will be officiating.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Pallbearers are Tim Knott, Steve Hensley, Colby Knott, Trevor Joseph, Mike Joseph, Warren Joseph, Eric Joseph and Matt Bishop. Honorary pallbearer is Ty Quinonez.

Many loving cousins and other extended family.
Diane had many friends but none as special as Joe and Cheryl Terry and their family who cared for her the last part of her life in the most caring way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two aunts; Millie (Phelps) Eck and Marilyn (Brawner) Frankenberg and an uncle; Richard Brawner.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM followed by a time for visiting until 1:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
A private committal service will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery in Newville.

He was a former member of Meese Chapel in Auburn but more recently attended Auburn Alliance Church. Clyde married Carol Nelson on April 4, 1959 in Fort Wayne and she passed away on April 23, 2021. He is survived by 3 daughters and a son, Anne Thomas of Fort Wayne, Scott (Patti) Warstler of Garrett, Nita (Dave) Cubanski of State College, PA and Lorie (John) Badman of Hamilton; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister Esther Wilcox of Fort Wayne; brother Larry (Sandy) Warstler of Virginia and a brother in law, Paul Watson of Auburn. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary E. Petre.

She married Ronald L. Lanning Sr. on September 3, 1958 in Newville. He resides in Butler.
Marsha was a wife, a mother and a homemaker.  She also turned two of her talents and hobbies into businesses.  During the 1970’s she owned and operated a flower shop in Hicksville, Ohio.  She then owned and operated Marsha’s Alterations and Creations during the 1980’s and 1990’s.  She specialized in creating wedding and prom dresses.  She also created and produced her own clothing line for a doll manufacturer in Shipshewana.  Marsha would also create floats for the Butler Days Parade even winning first place one year.
She attended Coburn Corner’s Church of Christ for several years.  In her free time she enjoyed cooking and sewing.  She also cared for both her ailing mother and her brother for several years.  She was a very caring person and she will be missed. Survivors Include:
Son and daughter-in-law; Ronald L. Lanning Jr. and his wife, Maria Lynn Lanning of Butler.
Son and daughter-in-law; Todd and Jennifer Lanning of Hamilton.
Four grandchildren and their spouses; Jessica and Spencer Dunlap, Spencer and Grace Lanning, Jake and Melissa Taulbee and Tyler and Bridget Lanning.
Seven great grandchildren; Fiona, Clayton, Braxton, Kevin, Bentley, Kace and Colton.
Sister and brother-in-law; Carol and Bruce Craig of Butler.
Sister and brother-in-law; Kay and Stan Henney of Hamiton.
Brother; Thomas Weicht.
Several loving nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father; Lester Weicht, her mother; Dorothy Stevenson, an infant daughter, one son; Kevin Lanning and one sister; Bonnie Stevenson.

She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, John Hoyt, and Robert D. Kelly, Jr.’s wife, Carol Kelly.

She is also survived by a son Spencer Johnson of Auburn; brother Dale (Sheila) Stahl of Hoagland, sister in law, Karen Stahl of Bluffton and a brother in law, Dale Gerber of Ossian. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Londa Gerber and a brother Roger Stahl. Services will be 11 AM Monday March 21, 2022 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
