Obituary Preview: Steven Gregory Amann, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 15th, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born on May 30th, 1984, Steve was the beloved son of Margaret (Peggy) Ann Amann and Richard Edward Amann. He grew up surrounded by love and warmth, inheriting his mother's kindness and love towards others. Throughout his life, Steve always showed compassion for those who were going through difficult times, doing what he could to make their lives better. He was the friend who could always be counted on during the moment’s when you needed it most. His actions and presence touched the lives of all who knew him.
A devoted brother and son, Steve shared a close bond with his family. His love for his family, including his brother Jeff, niece Addison, and extended relatives, knew no bounds.
In his professional pursuits, Steve followed his heart, doing things that made him happy. He spent many years as a maintenance technician, overseeing the grounds and villa complex where his grandparents lived in Davie. He took pride in keeping the property visually flawless, especially the surrounding outdoor landscaping. He also spent many years working alongside his father, Rick, assisting in his painting business.
In his leisure time, Steve loved fishing, gardening, and the outdoors, finding solace in the simple joys of life. He kept a fishing rod and tackle box inside his car at all times. Whenever he came across a promising fishing hole, he would assuredly stop to cast a line in and see what’s biting. More often than not, he would land the big one! He was also an excellent free diver, with the ability to hold his breath for minutes underwater in the pursuit of catching fresh fish and lobster. He inherited his mother's sociable nature, never hesitating to strike up a conversation and make new friends wherever he went.

Carol Jean Healy Glasgow - July 24, 1965 - November 25, 2023

Departed: 11/25/2023 (Fort Lauderdale)
Obituary Preview: Carol Jean Healy Glasgow Esq,
A dedicated medical malpractice attorney who spent a lifetime championing justice, passed away suddenly and peacefully on November 25, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of legal brilliance and unwavering commitment to her family. She is survived by her two amazing children and the “loves of her life” and “greatest accomplishments”, Lexi and David James “DJ” Healy Glasgow, her loving husband of nearly 25 years, David Glasgow and her adoring mother and closest confidant, Mary Healy. She also leaves behind two sisters and their families, Nancy (George Olsen), Erica, Stacy, and Sarah Dybas, and Kelly (Jeff) Williams, Ashley (Nick) Atkinson, Allison and Mackenzie Williams as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and countless lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her loving father and greatest supporter, James C. Healy, grandparents Freeman and Jane Healy and Joseph and Ann Horak, as well as her loving aunt Anna Marie Horak.
Born in Wakefield, Rhode Island, and growing up in Howell, New Jersey, Carol started preparing for her future as an attorney by perfecting her negotiation skills and debating anyone that dared disagree with her.
At the age of thirteen Carol’s family moved north to Connecticut where she continued pleading cases with her parents, siblings and friends along with passing the occasional judgement. It was in Connecticut that Carol eventually found her first passion, nursing. After earning a Nursing Diploma from Baystate School of Nursing, Carol followed her loving parents to Pittsburgh where she began her nursing career at Passavant Hospital. After gaining some experience, Carol was once again on the move with her family. It was then that Carol found her forever home in South Florida. She immediately resumed her nursing career at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, working in the ICU caring for countless patients in need.
Not being one to sit still for long, Carol had goals of going pro with her litigation skills. To do so, she quickly earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Barry University. From there, Carol attended and conquered Nova Southeastern Law School. Graduating from both schools Magna Cum Laude, Carol quickly earned a reputation for her sharp legal mind and tireless work ethic. Throughout her near 30-year career, she specialized in medical malpractice and guardianship cases, advocating for those who needed a voice. Colleagues remember her as a tenacious litigator, always prepared to tackle the most challenging cases with poise and determination. Her commitment to fairness and equality earned her the respect and admiration of clients and peers alike. Her deep fascination of her profession even made its way into her personal life. An avid viewer of shows such as Judge Judy, People’s Court and real-life crime dramas, Carol obsessed over the law even when outside the courtroom.
In addition to her professional achievements, Carol was a pillar of strength for her family and friends. A loving spouse and devoted mother, she balanced the demands of her career with the joys of family life. Those close to her speak of her warmth, compassion, and the endless support she provided to those in her inner circle. Outside of her legal pursuits, Carol’s passions included vacationing with her family and cooking. She loved sharing new recipes and preparing meals for her “mini-me” David James and her “ShugBug” Lexi. Carol’s children were by far the most important aspect of her life. Even according to her husband David, “It was 100% about Lexi and DJ. Everything else was a distant second, including me.”
As news of Carol’s passing spread, tributes poured in from across the legal community and beyond. Colleagues remember her as a mentor, guiding the next generation of attorneys with wisdom and poise. Clients expressed gratitude for her unwavering dedication to their causes, and friends reminisce about the laughter and camaraderie she brought to every gathering. Her family is now forced to face the world without one of their greatest leaders but will do so with the strength that she projected, the grace she expounded and the love that she gave.
Carol’s sudden departure has left a void that will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Yet, her legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched and the principles she fought for. In celebrating her life, let us remember Carol not only as a formidable attorney but as a compassionate family driven soul who made the world a better place through her unwavering pursuit of justice and equality.
