Joanne M Parsons - May 21, 1931 - November 17, 2021

Departed: 11/17/2021 (Pennsauken)
Obituary Preview: Joanne M. Parsons (née Mylin), 90 years of age, of Cherry Hill, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Dr. George Parsons; Devoted mother of Dr. George M. Parsons (Rossana) and Barbara Mankovich (Chris); Loving grandmother of Nicholas Langella, Amanda Fording (Tanner), Nina Parsons, and Alex Parsons.
Joanne lived a life full of music, family, friends, and faith, many times bringing them all together. She was an avid pianist, a piano teacher, and later in life learned to play the organ at Grace Episcopal Church in Haddonfield. She was also a devoted wife and mother who instilled a deep sense of tradition and heritage. Joanne was a proud and dedicated member of Grace Church in Haddonfield, NJ, a lifelong member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), Haddonfield Chapter, and a member of The Haddon Fortnightly, Forty Club and the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic. She kicked off every holiday season with an annual St. Lucia party during which family and friends gathered. She also loved seeing the world. Her favorite travel companion was her late husband George with whom she went on over 30 cruises. Using what she learned during her time in the DAR and from her travels Joanne compiled a book of family history which she gifted to her children and grandchildren to pass down to future generations.
Joanne enjoyed many other things, including sewing, knitting, and cooking. She is remembered fondly as holding a glass of Carlo Rossi Rhine wine in one hand and a Hershey chocolate bar in the other: she was happy to share both. Joanne loved chatting with friends over a game of bridge, guessing the answers to Family Feud, and singing along to The Lawrence Welk Show, waving her hands around as if she was conducting the music herself. She was very intrigued by world events, particularly the stock market. This passion for finances spilled over to her Purchasing Analyst position in the Parts Department for Subaru of America in Cherry Hill, NJ. She would go on to retire from Subaru but would often speak about how proud she was of the contributions she made.
