Thorpe -Mr. James Nick Thorpe 60, Youngstown born February 2, 1961 accepted the Lord's call and entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by his family whom he loved so dearly. James was born in Youngstown, Ohio to the late James Thorpe Sr. and Amanda Gregory. James graduated in 1979 from South High School and while attending he played football and ran track. He also briefly worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Everyone who knew him will always remember these three things about him. He was very charismatic, an avid Brown's fan and always made a fashion statement. James gave his life to the Lord towards the end of 2019, and became a faithful member and worker of Pathway Outreach Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Tyrone Waller Sr. Shortly after, he met his wife, Marlene. Their marriage was short, but they loved and enjoyed their time together. Marcus befriended many people. He loves spending time with his daughter.  He also loves being adventurous, and trying new things. He loved seeing his family members together, my dad always had a joke for somebody and would  give you the shirt he had on his back.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his only daughter, Marquett P. Samuels; three sisters, Grace and Katina Samuels both of Youngstown and Dorothy S. Samuels of Columbus; two brothers, William E. Samuels III. and Isaiah Samuels both of Youngstown; a special aunt, Brenda “Bran” Fasion; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Samuels II. And Kay F. Samuels.

She loved music, walking as well as crocheting, and cooking for the family. She was a loving soul wherever she would go and kept everyone laughing. She loved to dance and play music. She loved all of Marc Anthony's music as she sang and danced.

She was a strong and loving mother of four outstanding men: Damon, David (Nichole), Daniel (Toni) and Derrick (Nettie) McDowell all of Youngstown, Ohio. Her boys were her greatest joy and she was their superwoman, angel and protector. She also treasured her ten grandchildren: Damon, David, Trinity, Daevon, Triston, DaVinci, Josiah, Daelin, Elysia and Dae’ana. Renee will be deeply missed, however we celebrate her overwhelming joy as she is reunited with her oldest son, Damon, as well as many other family and friends.
