Richard "Rick" Bell - February 24, 1959 - March 06, 2022

Departed: 03/06/2022 (Wintersville)
Obituary Preview: Richard “Rick” “The Pappy” Bell, 63, of Mingo Jct., OH, went to Heaven on March 6, 2022. This we know to be true because he told us “I’ve raised five children, four of which daughters, so I’ve earned my golden ticket to Heaven”.
This obituary is written to by his five children and wife, which come from “Rick’s Fish Tales”, it is at the reader’s discretion to determine what is to be true.
Rick entered the world on February 24, 1959, in Steubenville, OH. He currently is having a reunion, in Heaven, with his parents, Joyce (Cunningham) and Richard Bell, and his brothers, Steve and Tim.
Rick was honored and proud to have served his Country in the United States Air Force.
According to Rick, he worked many jobs including, but not limited to an attempted professional fisherman, hair model, the Ice Capades, on tour with God Spell (disclaimer: we believe this was a high school play, although he may say otherwise), poker player, the bread man for Nickle’s Bakery, brewmaster with his friend, Todd, and his MOST favorites a football coach for Indian Creek and taught electrical trades at JVS, there was never a day he complained about going to work.
Pappy has had many accomplishments throughout his life including a 20-year running of the BBF, participating in local and regional chili cookoffs, co-author of an electrical textbook, and being the 12th player for Notre Dame Football. He loved his students, staff, and co-workers over the years. Coaching was his passion, it did not matter what team you were on, he was there supporting and coaching. His most important accomplishment was his family and watching his grandson receive a heart.
Surviving is the love of his life, of 40 years, his high school sweetheart, Rosemarie (Ensell) Bell, who he adored; five children, which is debatable of who his favorite child is, the choices include: Shannon (Chris) Krieg, Kristin (Dan) Bove, Ericka (Chris) Nemeth, Ricky (Megan) Bell, and Teresa (Branko) Busick; his 11 grandchildren, the reason he continued to fight: Danica, Landon, Dalana, Troy, Charlie, Ellie, Taylor, Willow, Jordyn, Jay, and Niko; siblings, Danny (Carol), Leslie Moziejko , Lisa Moziejko, Pat (Joy) Bell, Mike Bell, and Chris (Kelly) Bell; many nieces and nephews; and honorary daughter, Lynnsie Fetty. He gave it hell and he fought so long. We think he fought so hard because he didn’t want to miss anything or anyone. He loved us so much. He loved his wife of 40 years, his 5 kids, his 11 grandkids, his siblings, his friends, everyone. He loved life; he lived a life worth living. Rick was an example of how to be a husband, father, brother, and friend
In his words “you cannot change the hand you are dealt, but the way you play the hand”, well Pappy, way to play the damn hand.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where additional visitation will be held on Thursday at 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 12 Noon with Father John McCoy officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, with full Military Honors. Send condolences online at www.everhart-bovefuneralhomes.com
