Obituary Preview: Stephen "Steve" M. Schwartz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on April 4, 2024, his baptismal birthday. He died peacefully at home in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, surrounded by his loving family, after courageously battling prostate cancer for nearly five years. He was 74 years old.
Steve was born on November 15, 1949 in Monroe, Wisconsin to Murray and Marion (McConnell) Schwartz. He grew up on the family farm in Darlington, Wisconsin.
Steve's life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family and community. He was a devoted husband to Kathie Jo (Kraus), whom he married on August 31, 1985, at the United Methodist Church in Apple River, IL. Together, they raised a beautiful family and shared countless memories.
Steve's dedication to his family was unwavering. He is survived by his loving wife Kathie Jo; his children Michelle (Mike) Jackson, Heather (Jesse) Harshman, Whitnie Schwartz, and Wade (Olivia) Schwartz; and his cherished grandchildren Mercedes Harshman, Marissa Harshman, Kaden Austin, Ayden Schwartz, Emalynn Austin, Bentley Schwartz, and Graysyn Austin.
In addition to his immediate family, Steve is survived by his brothers Gary (Michele Belisle) Schwartz and Wayne (Chris) Schwartz, and his sisters Ruth Ann (Chris) Teutschmann and Arla (Harold) Folbrecht. He is also survived by beloved nieces, nephews, and numerous long-time friends, plus his loving canine-son Murray and granddog Bucky.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Murray & Marion Schwartz, Mother-in-law Elizabeth "Betty" Kraus, and niece Dayna Mullikin.
Steve's journey through life was marked by hard work and dedication. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1967 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Platteville University in 1971. His varied employment history included many different jobs, but his true passion was farming. In 1984, he fully committed to farming, and in 1991, he and Kathie ventured out on their own.
Steve was deeply involved in his community, serving on the Shullsburg School Board from 1993 to 2010 and the Pecatonica Coop Board. His faith was also important to him, and he was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Steve enjoyed farming, gardening, and bird watching; plus, traveling and saying he had visited all 50 states as well as New Zealand. He also had a love for supper clubs (always on the lookout for the best prime rib and Old Fashions), playing cards, puzzles, and spending time with his loved ones over a cup of coffee and a piece of pie. Steve's warm personality, his sense of humor, and his love for conversation endeared him to all who knew him.

Obituary Preview: Mary Lou Kulpinski, age 85 of Dubuque, IA formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Bethany Home in Dubuque. She was born at home in Shullsburg on September 9, 1938 the daughter of Thomas and Eunice (Nethery) Doyle. Mary Lou grew up in Shullsburg, attended St. Matthew's Grade School and graduated from Shullsburg High School. After high school, Mary Lou went on to attend college at Stevens Point. She got her degree in Home Economics and eventually served as Food Service Supervisor in the Wausau Hospitals for many years. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Leo J. Kulpinski on August 17, 1963, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Shullsburg. Together they lived in Wausau, WI for many years. Leo died in August of 1994. She continued to live in Wausau until 2018, when she moved to Sunset Park Place in Dubuque before moving to Bethany Home a few years later.
Mary Lou is survived by three brothers: Fr. Gene Doyle, Rick (Deb) Doyle, and Tim (Annie) Doyle; two sisters: Joan (Mike) Miles and Deb (John) Harry; two sisters-in-law: Eva Doyle and Margaret Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo in 1994; and brothers: Billy Doyle, Bob Doyle, Jack Doyle, Jerry Doyle, and Denny Doyle.
Mary Lou was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Wausau, WI for many years. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and could always be seen looking in and putting information in her “little black book.” Although Mary Lou didn’t have any of her own children, she spoiled her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Obituary Preview: Marjorie A. Cherry, age 79, of Shullsburg, WI passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at SSM – Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born September 15, 1944, in New Diggings Township in Lafayette County, WI the daughter of Walter and Mary (McNeal) Shirley. Marjorie lived in New Diggings until her marriage to James H.R. Farrey on June 10, 1961. From this union two children were born: George Walter (Russel) Farrey and Katherine Thearsa Farrey. After the passing of Jim, she later married Thomas P. Cherry on February 23, 1971. They lived and farmed in Seymour Township in Lafayette County and later near Cuba City, Wi. In 1978, they moved to Monroe WI, and began working at Advance Transformer in Monroe until 1987. In 1988 they opened Cherry’s Golden Opportunity Elderly Care Home. In 1999 they moved to Shullsburg where they had resided ever since.
Marjorie is survived by her children: George “Russ” (Judy) Farrey of Viola, WI, and Katherine (Lester, Jr.) King of Shullsburg; a sister: Marie Gallagher of Shullsburg; a brother: Walter (Gene) Shirley of Shullsburg; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: James Farrey and Thomas Cherry; three sisters; one brother and a granddaughter in Infancy.
Marjorie was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Shullsburg, a lifetime member of the Benton VFW Auxiliary, Women’s Auxiliary. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed dancing, watching movies, fishing, gardening, and crafts. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren creating memories they will all hold dearly forever.

Dorothy spent her entire life in Shullsburg, attending Shullsburg High School and making it her lifelong residence.
Dorothy is survived by her sister: Helyne (Jerry) Bausman of Belvidere, IL; her nieces and nephews: Pamela (Adam), Denise (Jake), Jason (Kristy), Nicole (Mike), and Holly; nine great-nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law: Karen Kittoe of Shullsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Charles “Puffer” Kittoe; one sister: Betty Kittoe; and one niece: Jackie Bausman.
Dorothy loved to spend time with family playing Yahtzee and Old Maid, doing word searches, and coloring. The time her family spent visiting with her was her favorite time and always made her smile. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Chuck O'Neill - September 15, 1937 - December 28, 2023

Obituary Preview: Chuck (John Charles) O’Neill of Leadmine, WI passed away on December 28, 2023. He has left us to join his best friend and wife of 62 years in heaven. He was born on September 15, 1937 to John and Hannah O’Neill.
He met Shirley Goffinet in Dubuque, IA. They dated for 2 ½ years until Shirley asked Chuck “When are we getting married?” He asked, “Do you want to?” and she said “Yes”. They were united in marriage on January 28, 1961, in Dubuque, iA where they lived together until Chuck took over farming the family homestead in the Township of Seymour. He had worked the land with his grandfather and father as a child when his grandfather was still using horses to plow the fields. He endured many ups and downs over the years in farming. He became a big advocate for no-till farming. He loved his tractors and enjoyed fixing up antique tractors.
Chuck was blessed with the Irish gift of gab. Chuck enjoyed traveling and was known to walk in the house and ask Shirley if she wanted to go out to eat and then telling her to pack a bag because he was done planting or harvesting and they were leaving for a few days or a week. They enjoyed boating on the Mississippi, taking Harley rides, taking trips with Super Crost Seed Corn Company. In later years they enjoyed going on cruises and taking trips in the RV. Chuck would tell anyone who would listen that he and Shirley had a lot of fun together and traveling and really lived life. He would tell them to travel while they were young and could enjoy it. He was a man who could do anything he put his mind. He never wrote his plans down so his finished products were always a surprise whether it be remodeling a house, building a boat house, or cooking up a meal.
Chuck is survived by his brother Jim; his 7 children: John, Bill (Cindy), Tom (Juanita), Terry, Kenny (Jill), Peggy, and Chris (Katrina); his grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley and his parents.
Chuck was buried in St. Matthew’s Cemetery next to his wife surrounded by his family on December 29, 2023. A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church (344 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg) with Fr. Peter Lee officiating, followed by a Celebration of Life at The Burg in Shullsburg. Everyone who knew Chuck is invited to join us to tell a story and celebrate his memory.

Obituary Preview: Ronald J. “Ron” Foley, age 82 of Cuba City, WI formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Platteville, WI. He was born December 5, 1941 in Shullsburg, the son of James and Anita (Gable) Foley. Ron graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1959. He married the love of his life, Barbara Burke on November 17, 1962, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Shullsburg. Ron grew up and lived in Shullsburg until moving to Cuba City in 2020. He owned and operated the Burg Theatre in the 70’s. He was a meat cutter and dairy manager for 45 years with Dick’s Supermarket in Darlington before retiring in 2003.
Ron is survived by his wife Barb; four children: Tim Foley of Madison, WI, Todd (Renee) Foley of Palmer, AK, Cindy Blanks of Wauwatosa, WI, and Scott (Natalie) Foley of Anchorage, AK; seven grandchildren: Keagan Blanks (fiancé: Shannon Burback) of Gurnee, IL, Kya Blanks of Milwaukee, WI, Griffin Blanks of Wauwatosa, WI, Dylan Foley of Minneapolis, MN, Bennett Foley of Urbana, IL, and Ila and Aubrey Foley of Anchorage, AK; one brother: Dan (Linda) Foley of Cottage Grove, WI, three sisters: Kathy (Dan) Kilpatrick of Neenah, WI, Mary Foley of Shullsburg, WI and Pam (Dan) Cruse of Davenport, IA; two sisters-in-law: Josephine Foley of Dubuque, IA, and Juanita Swift of Platteville, WI, a son-in-law: Dennis Blanks of Wauwatosa, WI, a special family friend: Sharon Donohoo of Shullsburg, WI and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Gary Foley; and an infant son: Brian Foley.
Ron was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Shullsburg and its Knights of Columbus and was a former member of the Shullsburg Fire Department. Ron was a devoted grandpa to his grandchildren and loved following all of their sporting events. He always told them how much they were loved and how special they were to him. He loved their hugs. Ron enjoyed classic car shows and he and wife Barb of 61 years had lots of fun with his 1964 Chevy Impala on outings with friends, and trips to Alaska. He always had a smile and a good sense of humor. He enjoyed life, especially the Foley Mulligans, golf outings and Foley Family Christmases. He was a huge fan of the Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers and Green Bay Packers.

Sherry was born on October 2, 1944, the daughter of Leonard and Adda Kittoe. She grew up in Shullsburg and graduated from Shullsburg High School in the Class of 1962.
Sherry was united into marriage to Richard “Dick” Roddick on September 13, 1975, in Dubuque Iowa. Sherry and Dick raised their children and worked in Shullsburg their entire lives. Following their retirement, they bought a vacation home in Arizona where they made memories that will last forever.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Dick Roddick; her children: Deborah (Willard) Chandler of Platteville, WI; Annette Ferrett of Peoria, Arizona; Alan (Melissa) Tyson of Glendale, Arizona; Christine (Stephen) Fried of Goodyear, Arizona; and Jeffery (Deborah) Roddick of Glendale, Arizona; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is further survived by her siblings: Ronald (Joani) Kittoe of Stoughton, WI; Larry (Kim) Kittoe of Kansas City, MO; Janice Prechel, and Patricia (Patrick) Teasdale, both of Monroe, WI; and one sister-in-law, Sharon (Lenny) Glass of Platteville, WI.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Dean Gehrt; sister, Helen Olmstead; son-in-law, Darren Ferrett; brother-in-law, Harlan Prechel.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, golfing and playing euchre. All activities that allowed her to unwind and relax. Sherry enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her husband Dick. She loved their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The memories she created with her family will be cherished and remembered fondly and often. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

She was united in marriage to Donald D.E. MacNaughton on August 14, 1971, at Immaculate Conception in Kieler, WI. They lived on various military bases throughout the United States from 1971 – 1979 before returning to Shullsburg where they have resided since.
Carol is survived by her husband: Donald D.E. MacNaughton; two sons: Donny (Brenda) MacNaughton and Adam (Amanda) MacNaughton, two grandchildren: Amelia and Grayden; one brother: Ron Eggers; and one sister: Louise (Greg) Andrews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; one son David; her grandparents: Lawrence and Lucille Pickle; one brother: Cletus Eggers; and two sisters-in-law: Joann Eggers and Linda Eggers.
Carol was a member of the Shullsburg American Legion Auxillary and the Lafayette County Homemakers. In her free time, Carol enjoyed knitting, doing puzzle books, and reading. She also thoroughly enjoyed her occasional trips to the Casino. Carol also liked to visit with her family and friends at the local restaurants and share stories over a hot cup of coffee. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A prayer service will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Erickson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home. He was born March 18, 1954 in Cuba City, WI the son of Virgil and Ruth Anna (Wilcox) Lee. Bob graduated from Belmont High School in Belmont in 1972. He lived and farmed on the home farm in Seymour Township with his father until 2010 when he retired to Belmont. Following his retirement from farming, Bob began driving and helping the Amish families in the area.
Bob is survived by many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother on May 4, 1971, and his father on December 7, 1991.
Bob was a member of Pleasant View Primitive Methodist Church in rural Belmont for many years. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he was asked.

Curtis is survived by his children: Jody (Jamie) Noble of Blue River, WI, Curtis “Mike” (Jeanette) Dorsey and Brian (Amy) Dorsey both of Winslow, IL, Jared (Taylor) Hitchins of Monroe, WI, and Tonya (Ross) Alff of Stevens Point, WI; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild with one more on the way; two sisters: Twyla Mick of Shullsburg and Kathyrn (Scott) Varner of Argyle, WI; a sister-in-law: Kathy Dorsey of Rockford, IL. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Lou “Micky” Dorsey.
Curtis was a proud member of the Wiota Fire Department for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting deer, squirrel, and rabbit, fishing, bowling, and playing cards. He cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren creating memories with them that they will all remember forever. He always enjoyed socializing with his friends making them laugh and smile. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Obituary Preview: Darline Hazel (Spore) Gleason, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2023, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family in Shullsburg, WI. She was born on December 12, 1939, in Apple River, IL, and later settled in Shullsburg.
Darline was a graduate of Shullsburg High School and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to her family. She and her husband proudly worked side by side on their farm, creating a home filled with love and warmth. After years of farming, Darline worked at the Shullsburg Home and in Home Heath Care. After retiring, she provided transportation for the Amish and formed life-long friendships.
Darline’s life was marked by her deep love for her family. She was the beloved wife to Michael “Mike” Gleason, and the devoted mother to six children: Denise (Steve) Leitzinger, Lisa (Larry) Schwantes, Lori Nethery, Bernard Gleason, Robert (Kim) Gleason and Michelle (Marty) Rood. Darline’s family continued to grow with the addition of 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and the anticipated arrival of her first great-great-grandchild in January 2024. Darline is also survived by her brother, Robert (Cheryl) Spore, sister-in-law, Gloria Spore, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Hazel (Walton) Spore, her brother, Orville “Sonny” Spore, and a son-in-law, Steve Nethery. Each family member will remember Darline for her loving, kind, and courageous spirit that shone through in everything she did.
Darline’s interests and hobbies were a reflection of her love for her family. She took immense joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, whether on the field or in the stands, she was their biggest cheerleader, that will be deeply missed. A passionate Packer fan, she enjoyed watching games and cheering on her favorite team. She had a fondness and keen mind for cross-stitching, word finds, and jigsaw puzzles that showcased her patience with determination and attention to detail. Darline also had a beautiful collection of windchimes, each piece a testament to her love for life’s simple pleasures. Her love for travel was evident in the numerous trips and family vacations she embarked on. She believed in the importance of making memories and strived to create unforgettable moments for her family during these trips. She cherished every moment she spent with her family.
In remembrance of Darline Hazel (Spore) Gleason, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and the precious moments she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire love and kindness in those she so dearly loved. Darline will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain with us, guiding us and reminding us of the enduring power of love, kindness, and family.

She was born on November 16, 1930, in Ion, Iowa, the daughter of William “Bill” and Lillie (Fett) Aird. She attended a one room schoolhouse in Ion through 8th grade and went on to graduate from Waukon High School in 1949. Helen married her best friend, Thomas H. Martin, on October 20, 1956, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dubuque, IA. Together, they cultivated a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to their family.
Helen took great pride in raising her children and contributed to her family's farm all while dedicating countless hours to nurturing her garden. Helen had a flair for baking, cooking, sewing, and crocheting, often sharing these homemade gifts with loved ones. She found joy in reading, especially history books and magazines and spent many years preserving the fruits of her labor through canning. Helen was selfless in her giving and always put others first. Above all, Helen's love for her family was paramount. She cherished holidays, especially Christmas and Easter, going above and beyond to ensure each celebration was filled with love, homemade meals, and thoughtful gifts. Her strong will to be present in her family’s life and fierce independence kept her in her own home all these years.
She was an active member of the St. Matthew's Catholic Church, serving in its Altar and Rosary Society, and its CCW. Beyond her church, her spirit of service extended to volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul for many years. Helen will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Helen is survived by her children: Kim (Jim) Francis of Warren, IL, Joe (Annie) Martin of rural Darlington, Lauri (Dick) Teutschmann of rural Gratiot, Christine (Bob) Knautz of rural Shullsburg, and Tom (Emily) Martin of Darlington. Carl is survived by his wife Tena at home; 3 children: Donald (Dawn) Mullikin of Janesville, WI, Jenny (Jarred) Altfillisch of Platteville, WI, and Carla (Bryton) Rentschler of Elkader, IA; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers Michael Moldenhauer of Brodhead, WI, and David Moldenhauer of Brodhead, WI; 1 sister: Jeanne (Alan) Baker of Arlington, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and son: Jason Mullikin.
He came from a family of long haul truck drivers and enjoyed traveling throughout the continental United States. He was also proud of his service in the Marine Corps where he had the opportunity to travel to Iceland. She was born December 31, 1952, in Shullsburg, WI the daughter of William “Bill” and Birdie L (Bell) McCauley. A proud alumna of Benton High School, Dixie graduated in 1971 before pursuing higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She earned both a bachelor's and a master’s degree in education, setting the foundation for her lifelong passion for teaching. Dixie's career began as a substitute teacher at Benton School District, where she taught 4th grade. The following year, she secured a full-time position and for 42 years, she dedicated her heart and soul to educating and inspiring the young minds of Benton. Beyond her teaching duties, Dixie was an active participant in the Benton School District. She frequently directed school plays and was honored as a Teacher of The Year.
Dixie was united in marriage to her best friend; Albert Randall “Doc” Paquette on June 3, 1978 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Benton, WI.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Randy “Doc” Paquette, at home in Shullsburg; her children, Chad (Jen) Paquette of Mt. Horeb, WI, and Katy Paquette of New Berlin, WI; and her grandchildren, Emme and Everett “Rett” Paquette, who were the apple of her eye. She is also survived by her brother, Bill (Kathy) McCauley of Benton, WI, and a brother-in-law, John Copeland. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Newman and Gloria Copeland, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Newman.
In addition to her teaching career, Dixie was a pillar of the Shullsburg community. After marrying Doc, she embraced her new hometown with open arms. She volunteered for Advance Shullsburg at events such as Cruising Shullsburg and Shullsburg Cheesefest. She was also an active member of the Shullsburg Historical Society, CWG, and the Emily Franz Scholarship Foundation further demonstrating her commitment to her community.
Dixie had a wide array of interests that filled her life with joy. She loved traveling and enjoyed playing cards and loved watching the game show network. She would often times be found on her deck by the pool or downtown with her ladies. Above all, she cherished the moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dixie made sure her family knew how much she loved them and was proud of them at every opportunity.
Dixie was a woman of remarkable character. Her humor, courage, and selflessness were evident to all who knew her. She had a personality that lit up any room she entered, and her positivity was infectious. She was a beacon of light in her community, radiating joy and warmth wherever she went. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

He was born on August 28, 1947, in Cuba City, WI, the son of Thomas and Eunice (Nethery) Doyle. Denny graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1966. After graduation, he dedicated his life to farming on the family farm. He spent long days working, teaching his children about dedication and hard work through his actions. He spent many years driving milk truck. His favorite place to be was in the cab of the combine where he spent many early mornings and late nights throughout the years.
In addition to his work, Denny was deeply involved with his community. He was a proud member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg, and he was part of St. Matthew's Cemetery Board. His faith was important to him, and he demonstrated this through his active participation in the church and its activities.
Above all, Denny was a family man. His children, Jeff (Sherry) Doyle, Matt (Gayle) Doyle, Mark Doyle, Nick (Shelby) Doyle, and Bret (Josie Nies) Doyle, were his pride and joy. He also cherished his grandchildren: Jordan (Alyssa), Cameron, Peyton, Abigail, Katelyn, Carter, Ellie, Connor, and Krew. He made it a point to attend as many of their sporting events and extracurricular activities as he could. His love for his family was evident in his actions, and he made sure they all knew how proud he was of them at every opportunity.
Denny is also survived by his brothers, Fr. Eugene Doyle, George (Deb) Doyle, and Tim (Annie) Doyle; his sisters, Mary Lou Kulpinski, Joan (Michael) Miles, and Deb (John) Harry; a daughter-in-law: Christina Doyle; two sisters-in-law, Eva Doyle and Margaret Wolf; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His parents, and four brothers, Robert Doyle, Charles "Jerry" Doyle, John “Jack” Doyle, and Billy Doyle, preceded him in death.
Denny will be remembered for his selfless nature, his kind heart, and his love for his family. His legacy will continue to live on through the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the memories he created with those who knew him.

Together, they raised a family that grew to include nine children, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cecelia is survived by her children: Gary (Rosemary) Keleher of Dubuque, Richard Keleher of Freeport, David (Marie) Keleher of Cambridge, Mary Lou Keleher of Madison, Brian Keleher of Shullsburg, Larry Keleher of Fitchburg, Robert Keleher of Freeport, and Diane Neumeyer of Stoughton. She was also the proud grandmother of Craig, Bethany, Rebecca, Paula, Peter, Patrick, Sam, Noah, Chloe, Bryce, and BreAnne, and great-grandmother of Calvin, Jillian, and a baby due in September 2023. She is also survived by her sisters, Anna Marie Hessling and Rose Keleher, who were a constant source of love and support in her life; one sister-in-law, Helen Martin and two Cousins: Mike (Sandy) NeCollins and Martin NeCollins and many nieces and nephews.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 45 years, Delbert; one son, James; one son-in-law, Randolph Neumeyer; two brothers, Cyril Martin and Thomas Martin; one sister, Mary Salzmann; her nephews, Douglas Keleher and Greg Martin; and three brothers-in-law, John Hessling, John Salzmann and Melvin Keleher.
Cecelia enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and having lunch with her sisters. She loved challenging herself with puzzles and was an avid viewer of Wheel of Fortune. Summer afternoons were often spent on her deck, basking in the warmth and beauty of her rural surroundings. But above all, Cecelia cherished the time spent with her family. They moved to Shullsburg, WI where they farmed in the Township of Seymour and raised their seven children.
She enjoyed singing with Sweet Adelines. She worked as a first responder for Rural Medical along with her husband. Shirley worked for a few years at the Republican Journal in Darlington as a proofreader. She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories and had several published in magazines and poetry books.
She was a true Irishman and loved to have fun and travel with her husband. Over the years they enjoyed boating on the Mississippi River, taking trips on the Harley, and taking trips with Super Crost Seed Corn Company. In later years, they enjoyed going on cruises and taking trips in the RV.
Shirley is survived by her husband: Chuck O’Neill; her children: John, Bill (Cindy), Tom (Juanita), Terry, Kenny (Jill), Peggy, and Chris (Katrina); 7 grandchildren; her sister: Sharon (Don) Even; one brother: Ted (Andrea) Goffinet; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; and her sister: Sharlene (John) Runde.
Shirley spent her final year at Care Initiatives Nursing Home in Dubuque where she was taken care of by caring and compassionate staff. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff.

Jerry graduated from Queen of Apostles in Madison and later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-Business in 1972 from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. Jerry proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968, where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam, and was stationed in various other places throughout the world including Guam, Alaska, and other locations throughout the United States until he was honorably discharged in 1968. He was united in marriage to Patricia E. Frank on May 26, 1979. Upon his return from the service, he briefly pursued a career in insurance before discovering his true passion for over-the-road trucking. Jerry owned and operated his own truck until his retirement in 2003, after which he continued to drive for other companies until just a few months before his death.
Jerry is survived by his wife Patti at home in Shullsburg; his children: Rose (Michael) Geurin of Middletown, DE, Andrea (Darren Flint) Leahy of Virginia Beach, VA, Frank (Paulette) Leahy of West Allis, WI, and Daniel (Katherine) Leahy of Dickeyville, WI; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Kylie Masters) Leahy, Carson Geurin, Colton Geurin, Brianna Flint, Elena Flint, Alexander Flint, Andrew Leahy, and Charlotte Leahy. He is further survived by his siblings: Elizabeth "Betty" Schlect of Cummings, GA, Richard (Charlotte) Leahy of Middleton, WI, and Larry (Mary) Leahy of rural Darlington, WI; a sister-in-law, Virginia Leahy of Belmont, WI, two special aunts, Lois Leahy of Mineral Point, WI, and Isabelle Doyle of Darlington, and several nieces and nephews. Jerry was an active member of his community, contributing his time and energy to various organizations. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, McCann Richard American Legion Post #105 and VFW Post #10533. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus 1501, Mineral Point DAV #67, the Military Order of the Cooties Pup Tent 14, and the former Shamrock Club of Lafayette County. In his free time, Jerry liked to tend to his vegetable garden and took every chance he could to travel.

Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family. She is survived by her children, Jeff (April) Gensler of St. Louis, MO, Terry (Brittany) Gensler of rural Shullsburg, and Julie (Edward) Peters of Apple River, IL grandchildren, Faith, Hope, Mylie, Dan, and Rachael, brought her immense joy, as did her great-grandchild, London. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond (Susie) Scott of Dubuque, one sister, Janice Welp of East Dubuque, IL, a sister-in-law, Joanne (John) Weiskircher of Shullsburg, and one brother-in-law, Tom Pedley of Shullsburg, as well as many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, her sisters, Deloris (Delvon) Tregloan, Betty (Jerry) Morrissey, Joyce (Carl) Pahnke, and Kathleen (Charlie) Symons; one brother, Elmer (Charlene) Scott; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas Gensler, Teddy Gensler, Forrest Gensler, Arden Gensler, Marie Kieler, Alice Heller, Tom Welp, Mary Alice Pedley and Beverly Schardt.
Throughout her life, Shirley was an active member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and contributed her time and talents to the Fellowship group, helping with various events. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and served as the township clerk for Shullsburg Township for many years.
In her free time, Shirley enjoyed baking and cooking, often sharing her delicious creations with friends and family. She loved gathering with her friends for coffee and conversation, swapping stories and laughter. Shirley also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, trying her luck and having a good time. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs, Bentley and Cricket, who brought her endless joy and companionship.
Above all, Shirley's family meant everything to her. She was a constant source of love, support, and encouragement, and she always made sure they knew how proud she was of their achievements. Her gentle presence and selfless nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Todd lived in Shullsburg his entire life, and he was a familiar face around town. He was often seen going to coffee with the guys and scratching lottery tickets at the gas station. Todd was always a social butterfly, engaging with friends and strangers alike, and brightening everyone's day with his humor and warmth. He loved a good game of cards with friends and family. Todd had a knack for telling jokes and always wanted to make people laugh, which he did with ease.
Todd is survived by his two sisters, Cindy (Randy) Anderson of Scales Mound, IL, and Julie (Joe) Thompson of Shullsburg, WI; and one brother, Dean Ubersox of Darlington, WI. He was a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews, Heather Anderson, Alex Anderson, Holly (Travis) Franzen, Shane (Jen) Anderson, Jennifer (Jason) Nelson, Justin (Maggie) Thompson, Kevin (Twyla) Ubersox and Nick (Brook) Ubersox. She became a young mother and homemaker, learning to bake, sew, knit, and later make beautiful ceramics and flower arrangements. She most loved to read and collect and refurbish antique furniture.
In 1955, she and Jim moved to Rockford, Illinois and in 1969 to Roscoe, IL where Jim established Petry Homes and built several subdivisions. Sally assisted with the bookkeeping. In 1979 Sally and Jim moved to southwest Wisconsin. There she took up golf and won several ladies golf tournaments at the Prairie Du Chien Golf Country Club where they played regularly. For many years, they winter vacationed in Miami, Florida playing golf and visiting their daughter and family.
Sally is survived by her two children, Jeff and Paula; and 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, her son, Jim; and granddaughter, Alexandra.

On May 24, 1986, Bruce was united in marriage to the love of his life, Vianne Larvey, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg, WI. Together, they shared a beautiful life and created a loving family that was the center of Bruce's world. Although Vianne preceded him in death in 2018, their love story remains a testament to the power of true partnership and devotion.
Bruce is survived by his daughters, Kaylla (Michael) Klimek and Chantel Appell, both of Belvidere, IL; a grandson, Milez Appell; and a sister, Marilyn (Bob) Sagmoen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vianne, and his brothers: Robert Appell and Mark Appell.
Known for his quirky sense of humor, Bruce was always ready with a joke or a funny story to make those around him smile. He was a selfless, thoughtful man who always put the needs of others before his own. His laughter and kindness will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his free time, Bruce enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, gambling at the casino, and engaging in lively conversations with his friends. These moments brought him great joy and provided a source of relaxation and camaraderie that he cherished. Above all else, though, Bruce's greatest love was his family. His grandson, Milez, was his best friend, and he treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. The memories they created together will live on in their hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her father: Gary Smith; her grandparents: Arlie and Arlene Stufflebeam and Albert Smith and Viola Madlom.
Lezlie was a friend of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg. She enjoyed working with flowers, reading, taking care of her cats, collecting Angel figurines, and watching movies. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren creating memories they will all remember forever.

Obituary Preview: Lawrence J. “Larry” Weiskircher, age 77 of rural Argyle, WI formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at UW-Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born October 28, 1945, in Shullsburg the son of John and Evelyn (Brown) Weiskircher. Larry grew up in Shullsburg where he graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1963. Following his high school graduation, Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served from 1963 – 1967. Larry decided to enlist in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. He served in the Navy from 1970 – 1978, when he was again honorably discharged. After returning home, Larry worked for Varion Medical Group where he installed over 200 radiation therapy machines. He proudly built a radiation therapy compound with a doctor outside of Nairobi, Kenya in Africa to help those who were less fortunate. He always took pride in being a humanitarian and helping those who needed it most whenever he could. Larry was united in marriage to Mary Nardi on November 15, 1986.
Larry is survived by his stepchildren: Pat (Leanne) Rielly, Frank (Bev) Rielly, Dan (Maria) Rielly, and Peggy (Kevin) Glendenning, many step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; one brother: Gary (Susan) Weiskircher; a sister: Judy (Ted) Kilcoyne; and his four legged companion: Grizz. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Mary.
Larry loved to be outside spending time on motorcycles, dirt bikes, and any car that went fast. If he had to be indoors, he loved to play cards with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
