Marilyn J. Kochenour - December 02, 1931 - February 01, 2022

Departed: 02/01/2022 (Dover)
Obituary Preview: Marilyn J. Kochenour YORK - Marilyn Joyce (Kauffman) Kochenour, 90, entered into God’s Kingdom at 12:20pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Normandie Ridge. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Harry E. Kochenour. Born December 2, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alverta (Heilman) Kauffman. She graduated from William Penn High School and then worked at Denstply International for 2 decades. Her time there was highlighted by her role in the Women of Faith at Denstply Group. Marilyn’s magical smile was captured as a model for Denstply, being featured on the cover of the 1971 Company Annual Report.   Later in life she shared many great experiences by providing personal care and companionship to the elderly.  A lifetime Christian, she sought to proactively serve the Lord every day through her personal testimony of faith, as a prayer warrior, and her passion for child evangelism and the missions field. She was a 5 decade member of the Church of the Open Door, where she provided support and leadership on the Faith Mission Committee, the Missionary Closet, the COD Missions Festival and through her ongoing writings and financial support for global missionaries. As a couple, Marilyn and Harry loved child evangelism, jointly supporting summer camps and teaching Kids for Christ. She enjoyed networking and breaking bread with her broader church family, spending hours in the garden growing beautiful flowers and taking family beach vacations. She adored her family, always keeping them close in prayer, supporting them through life’s challenges and never missing an opportunity to celebrate their milestones achieved. Marilyn’s life was defined by the constant smile on her face and her most gracious service to others, always putting others first and living a life dedicated to God. She is survived by a daughter, Karen A Miller and husband, Ronald of York; two sons, Michael E. Kochenour and wife, Vicky of West York, and Bradley A. Kochenour and wife Stephanie of Manheim; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Lois K. Dietz of York. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Brooke; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Due to the family’s concern for the safety and well-being of all during this current COVID environment, a grave side burial service for immediate family only will be held at Mount Rose Cemetery. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is in charge of arrangements. We know that many extended family members and dear friends will want to honor our mom in person. A memorial, celebratory service is being planned for May 26, 2022 at Church of the Open Door. Details will be forthcoming at a future time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Global Outreach Program at the Church of the Open Door, 5 Carlisle Court, York, PA 17408.
