Obituary Preview: Sybil Marie Valentini of Reisterstown, Maryland passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024 at her home. Born May 23, 1930, she was the daughter of Asa Liston and Lucy Lanier (nee Wallace), and she was the beloved wife of Joseph S.Valentini.
Sybil was well-loved. Sybil enjoyed bridge, golf, garden club, and spending time with her friends and family. She was proud of her home and throughout her life dressed in a style that looked terrific on her. She carried herself with true class. Sybil will be remembered for her strong, intelligent mind and the loyal support given to those she loved. Being a mother and grandmother was central to her life and to which she gave her full self.
Sybil was truly blessed to have 93 years of good health and a sound mind.
Surviving Sybil is her daughter, Lucy Anne Wilder of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Margaret Lanier (Maggie) and her husband, Dr. Ben Cornwell; two grandsons, Robert Dennison Wilder III (Trey) and Joseph Bryson Wilder (Bryson); and her precious great granddaughter, Annie Keys Cornwell.
The family will receive friends at Reisterstown United Methodist Church, 246 Main Street Reisterstown, MD on Tuesday, May 14th from 10-11am. The Service will begin at 11am immediately followed by a luncheon.
The interment is private and will be held at the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery on May 16th.

He was the husband of Sandra J (Miller) Aldridge to whom he was married for nearly 48 years. Born January 5, 1949, in Westminster, he was the son of the late Arthur N. Aldridge and Dora S. (Linton) Aldridge. John was a 1967 graduate of Westminster High School.
In addition to his wife Sandi, he is survived by his son John W. (Jay) Aldridge, Jr. and his wife Dayna; and son Michael C. Bowers; brothers Arthur N. (Mickey) Aldridge, Jr., Edward Aldridge, and Thomas Aldridge; and special daughters Kim Zimmerman, Michelle Miller and Stacey Allen. He was predeceased by sons John C. Bowers and Robert K. Bowers; and a sister Joyce Aldridge. John (Pa) was a loving grandfather to seven grandsons and two granddaughters; and Uncle John to many nieces and nephews.
Before retiring, John was Construction Superintendent for commercial construction companies, Clark; Chesapeake; and CCD Rock Creek, LLC at Amblebrook Gettysburg. He had served for thirteen years with the Maryland Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Captain. John was an elected official in Union Twp, for which he chaired the Board of Supervisors for the last several years. He loved to travel, especially with Sandi, her sister Wanda Lemmer, and other family and friends. John was designated driver and tour guide in Aruba, his favorite vacation location. John was a member of St. James UCC, Littlestown.

She was a graduate of Seton High School and a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Darlene enjoyed crabbing, interior decorating, being an avid bargain hunter and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Kelly Kennedy of Columbia, MD; son, Ryan Kennedy, and his wife Megan, of Ellicott City, MD; sister, Patricia Warner of Ellicott City, MD; grandson, Alexander Kennedy of Ellicott City, MD and granddaughter, Katie Kennedy of Ellicott City, MD.
The family will be receiving friends at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, Maryland 21701 on Friday May 3, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 am. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment is private.

Anthony John Quattrocchi - April 06, 1926 - April 15, 2024

Obituary Preview: Anthony John Quattrocchi also affectionately known as Uncle Tony, Labby, or Mr. Q passed away on April 15th at the age of 98. He was one of five children born to Andre and Jennie (Lanza) Quattrocchi. He was survived many nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his beloved siblings Mamie, Philip, Josephine and Joseph.
He lived his entire life in the Baltimore, MD area. He joined the Navy in October 1943 during WWII. He was very proud of his military service having earned the Pacific Theater Ribbon (1 star), American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon (1star). He was honorably discharged in May of 1946. After leaving the military Tony trained and became on optician, a practice he remained at until his retirement. Tony made some amazing friends almost everywhere he went and kept them for life. One friend said, "with his infectious smile and delightful sense of humor I find him always eager to make your day better." He loved traveling with his friends and getting to be a part of their families. He spent many days at the Ellicott Senior Center which he enjoyed very much. He spent the last 21 years at the Reisterstown Catholic Charities Senior Apartments moving in as the first resident in this new building on 2002. He loved the friends he met, living in Baltimore, traveling and Italian food. However, his favorite time in life was while he was in the service. Most importantly was his deep and abiding love for his Catholic faith.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery 11501 Garrison Forest Road Owings Mills, MD 21117 on Friday May 10th at 1:00 P.M.

Obituary Preview: John William Simermeyer, 69, of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, passed away surrounded by family on April 9, 2024 from complications related to his 3 year battle with ALS.
John was born on July 25, 1954 in Patterson, New York and was adopted by Arthur F. and Marion (Scherer) Simermeyer of Mamaroneck, New York at the age of 2. Following Marion’s passing, John was raised by Arthur and his second wife, Marie (Vain) Simermeyer. John grew up in New York, Ohio, and Virginia before moving to the Baltimore area as a teen. He graduated from Randallstown High School, then went on to study History and Economics with teaching certification at University of Maryland Baltimore County.
John began his 42 year career at Social Security Administration in Woodlawn in 1977, where he held many roles advancing to the Senior Executive Service prior to his retirement in 2019. He enjoyed engaging in speaking, participating in leadership development, mentoring others, and most importantly fulfilling the mission of SSA: to serve the public.
John met Julie through mutual friends. They married at Sacred Heart Parish in 1989. He was a devoted husband and loving father to their daughters, Jessica and Theresa. He was involved in his community and served as a lector at Sacred Heart for over 30 years. John enjoyed sharing his love of sports with his family; attending Maryland football and Lady Terps basketball games, tailgating for Auburn Football, and teaming up for Orioles/ Yankees games. John loved traveling, particularly to Disney, Topsail Island, National Parks, and Europe. He was a beacon of strength and hope for his family and for others in the ALS community through companionship and fundraising for the Brigance Brigade Foundation and ALS Association of North Carolina. John’s strength, humility, and humor guided him and those around him through even his toughest days.
John is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Julia (Kloby) Simermeyer, daughters Jessica Simermeyer and Theresa (Simermeyer) Janisch, son-in-law Trevor Janisch; sisters Kathy Mikolivich, Carol Harris, Maureen Sacratini, and Kristin Driscoll; cousin Elizabeth Simermeyer, and many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Richard “Dick” James Colón. Dick passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on March 23, 2024. Born into humble beginnings in Miami, Florida, on April 3,1943 as one of six children, Dick overcame the trials of his early years, including survival of the awful hardships at the Arthur G. Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, Florida.
In 1969, he married his beloved wife, Julie Colón, embarking on a remarkable journey of unwavering devotion that spanned over five decades. Together, they created a beautiful family that includes six children, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Dick and Julie shared a life filled with love and cherished memories, and created a bond that endured the test of time. Dick was the proud patriarch and strong tower of his family.
As a man of extraordinary resilience, strength and determination, Dick transcended his circumstances in Florida, journeyed to Maryland, joined the IBEW Local Union 24 and forged a path as an electrician. In 1983, with sheer grit and entrepreneurial vision, Dick became the owner of Mace Electric Company, where he transformed the struggling enterprise into a thriving, multi-million-dollar business. His passion for his craft, commitment to hard work, and vision for his life and business were driving forces behind the success of his company, earning him respect and admiration throughout the industry.
Dick leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, resilience, and success. Far beyond his professional accomplishments, he will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his unmatched work ethic, and his willingness to help those in need. His quick wit, humor, and poetic word choice will always be a source of laughter and comfort.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, six devoted children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, sister, and a host of cherished family members and friends whose lives he touched in countless ways. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him.
A viewing to honor Dick’s life will take place at Eline Funeral in Reisterstown, Maryland, on Saturday evening 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friends, family, and all who knew him are invited to come pay their respects and share cherished memories. Dick will then return home to Miami, Florida, where a funeral service will be held to celebrate his life. He will be laid to rest beside his mother, a final resting place that brings solace and eternal connection.

She was born on May 27, 1932, in Jamaica, to the late Adina Mattadeen and Alfred Mattadeen. She was married to the late Ezekiel Smith. They had a loving daughter together, Admira Maddix who now resides in Reisterstown, MD. Mellorious was known to all as "Auntie Polly". She is also survived by four loving grandchildren, two granddaughters, Brittany Maddix and Dr. Bridgett Provost and two grandsons, Jermaine Provost and Sheldon Provost. She is also survived by two loving great granddaughters, Annalise Smith and Naomi Smith. Devoted sister of Christina Davis and loving aunt of Angela Davis.
In her later years Melorious moved from Jamaica to come live with her daughter in Reisterstown, Maryland. Some of her interests and hobbies included being a homemaker, gardening, singing, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, February 22, from 1pm to 2pm at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136. A Memorial Service will follow at 2pm from the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a future date in Jamaica.

Obituary Preview: Michael Arvin Adler, 76, of Finksburg, Maryland passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8th 2024. He was born October 2, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Leonard and Evelyn (Press) Adler. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ellen Gibson-Adler, son, Robert Adler (Chelsea), and sister, Carol Gilbert (Larry) along with many nieces and nephews.
Michael was a graduate with a doctoral degree from the Johns Hopkins University and had an internship in child psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Adler was a State of Maryland licensed psychologist and psychiatrist assistant whose professional career was devoted to providing therapeutic care and services for the most challenging youth populations.
His career spanned over years of leadership experience in both private and state facilities, as well as instructor contributions for the Academic Review designed to assist in licensing preparation for eligible candidates. He also developed and supervised programs for systems including the Baltimore City Public Schools, Maryland Department of Juvenile Services, and served in a private capacity as a consultant where he developed and supervised programs for group homes, residential treatment programs and juvenile and social agencies.
His expertise included conducting full battery psychological, psychoeducational and psychosexual evaluations; individual and family therapeutic services; and supervising and mentoring staff in a variety of clinical settings.
He also served as president of the Baltimore Psychologist Association for two terms from 2019-2021.
Michael also loved helping coach little league sports. He coached little league soccer, and was the former commissioner of the Roaring Run Lions Club. He was known for being a grill master and an avid reader, but most importantly a devoted loving husband to his wife Ellen. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Memorial contributions can be made in honor of Michael to Carroll County Humane Society and the American Heart Association.
