Departed: 01/26/2020 (Eastpointe)
Obituary Preview: Gary Keith Janadia was born on March 12, 1942, in Detroit from the union of Bob and Helen Janadia. Gary attended Foch Junior High School and he graduated from Southeastern High School in 1959. After graduating from high school Gary decided he wanted to serve his country and he enlisted in the Navy where he honorably served until he was discharged in 1966. While in the service his first two sons were born, Gary and Michael. Gary and Michael’s mother was Patricia Janadia, Gary’s first of three wives. He was also married to Geraldine where he was a proud and loving step-father to Jimmy and Tammy. From Gary’s marriage to Jaime he became a father to Raymond and Michael Blake.
After a short stint at Huch Manufacturing, Gary joined the Detroit Police force in 1969. He served the City for 28 years until his retirement in 1997. A decorated officer Gary was most proud at serving his police brothers and sisters on the force as a Union Steward, where he fought hard for D.P.D. officers and their treatment in the work place. Unions have always been important in the Janadia family. Gary continued the legacy and tradition of his parents and brother Robert and sister-in-law, Eileen in fighting for worker’s rights. After his retirement from the police force, Gary joined his sons, Gary and Michael at their law firm, he became the office manager and the cornerstone of the business until his final days.
Gary would often step outside his work position and counsel the office’s clients with their personal drug and alcohol issues. It is in this regard Gary made his greatest mark on the world while living himself one day at a time he helped thousands of others gain clarity, stay sober, and get back their lives. Gary was devoted to the AA model and was in his 37th year of sobriety. His fellowship with his brothers and sisters helped him in his most difficult times. Helping people was also the impetus for the happiness and peace he encountered since entering the program.
Gary in his free time was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan never missing a game. He coached his sons and many of their friends in baseball. He was also a tortured Detroit Lions fan. He loved television and movies, All in the Family, wartime movies, and the Sopranos were his favorites. Gary was an avid euchre player and was immortalized in Tom Gallagher’s How to Play Euchre Manual. The “Viking” also enjoyed bowling with his sons, they won a few league championships. When looking to relax he enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Canada.

Departed: 08/25/2019 (Eastpointe)
Obituary Preview: Steven Edward Majors, age 32, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at his home in Clinton Township, Michigan. Steven was born on December 22, 1986 in Warren, Michigan to James Hershel Majors and Wanda Lee Coots.
As a child, Steven was noted to be a prankster and jokester. Even as he grew up, he loved to be noted as the ‘joker of the family’. Steven went to Lincoln schools for most of his life. He met his wife, Marilyn, in middle school. She officially ‘locked him in’ to dating when they were 17. The couple finally wed on August 22, 2015. Steven had a passion for the outdoors. Most importantly, he loved his toys. He enjoyed four wheeling and jet skiing at his Dad’s cabin up north on Elbow Lake. He and Marilyn would take the jet skis out on Houghton Lake since it was bigger to give them more room to ride. He loved to travel, but especially enjoyed Florida.
Steven enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions play football, despite their record, and binge-watching Game of Thrones with Marilyn. He was famous for his BBQ. The most notable dishes of Steven’s grill are Steak, BBQ Chicken, and Brats. Everyone, including his family, always raved about his BBQ Skills.
Most importantly, Steven was a family man. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to take his daughters outside, to the splash pad, to their local park, and on bike rides. He especially enjoyed making sandcastles with the girls at the beach.
Steven, a family man and the life of the party, will be missed by many. He has joined all those he has missed in Heaven. Him and his friends are riding their four wheelers up above.
Steven was the loving husband of Marilyn. He was the cherished father of Aunica and Kaylin. Dear son of Wanda Lee Coots and James Hershel Majors. Adored brother of Jason, Tony, Christopher, and Brittany. Precious grandson of Beulah “Kitty” Dale. Beloved son-in-law Tammy (Bruce Trottier) Bannister and Joe Bannister.
