Obituary Preview: On Monday October 10, 2022, Brenda McGuire (Green) passed away from a short two-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was sixty-six years old, born to Earl (deceased) and Sandra Green in Danvers, Massachusetts. While living north of Boston, Brenda worked odd jobs while raising her two sons (Jason Hudson) and (Matthew Willey). In 2000, Brenda moved from Massachusetts to Vermont to be closer to her sons and their families. While in Vermont, Brenda found her calling and passion working as a caretaker, primarily for hospice patients. She started a home for hospice patients that did not have a place to live. Brenda eventually closed her business to move to Jackson, NY, to care for her father. Within the last several years, Brenda moved to Shushan, NY, but continued to work as a caretaker until she received her cancer diagnosis on August 10, 2022.
Brenda enjoyed being with family and friends. She loved to laugh, attend live music events, and see “Elvis” perform. Often, you would find her dancing away to the live music. For those who had the privilege to be around her, there would be many laughs, and a good time. Brenda loved the Christmas holiday and would make the time memorable for her family. She found great joy in giving and providing unique traditional gifts to her children, their wives, and grandchildren. Brenda’s faith kept her strong during this season in her life and was at peace knowing she would be in a better place in heaven.
Brenda leaves behind her two sons, Jason Hudson and his wife Candy, Matthew Willey and his wife Tallie; her mother, Sandra Green; her brother and his wife, Brian and Donna Green; and her sister and her husband, Pamela, and Gerard Mailly. Flowers are welcome, but in lieu of flowers, Brenda’s strong wishes were that all her family and friends would receive routine medical care and check out any physical signs that something might be wrong. Guestbook condolences may be made at www.maharandsonfuneralhome.net

Terri Lee Kennedy - October 07, 1958 - October 09, 2022

Departed: 10/09/2022 (Bennington)
Obituary Preview: BENNINGTON-
Beloved mother, sister, and friend, Terri Lee Kennedy (Creel), 64 of Bennington, VT. passed peacefully from this plane of existence while asleep at home, just as she had wished, on Sunday, October 9th, 2022 after a long illness.
Terri was born on October 7th, 1958 in Waterbury Connecticut to Nancy Ryan and Glenn Creel II. At only 4lbs, 12oz when born, the doctors were sure she wouldn’t be long for this world. She fooled them! They didn’t know Terri’s ingrained fierceness, and willpower.
This fighting spirit had led her to do anything she set her mind to. Her first job was working at Green Mountain Race track in Pownal, VT where her father had been a jockey agent at the time. Through her job of walking horses, she met the love of her life, and future father of her children. He, a horse trainer, whisked her away to the lands of tornados, snakes, scorpions and tarantulas, otherwise known as his hometown in Texas- let’s just say, she moved her family back north after a few eventful years on the ranch. Over the years Terri would have various trades she effortlessly juggled while raising her children and giving them the best that she could; she spent years working at the The Brasserie restaurant at The Bennington Potters; later, Terri became passionate about nursing, working at the Eddy Senior Care in Latham, NY. Her most revered position was providing end of life care for The New Skete Nuns in Cambridge NY.
When no longer able to work, Terri found it rewarding volunteering with local programs in Bennington helping those in recovery, victims of domestic violence and displaced peoples. Terri was an endless seeker of knowledge, she loved educating her mind and spirit, influencing others around her to do the same.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn J. Creel II and Nancy Ryan Creel; her husband and father of her children, Johnas Dale Kennedy; her sister, Catherine Creel; and brother Tommy Creel.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nancy (Kayla Miranda) Kennedy, New Albany, IN; Ryan (Courtney) Kennedy, Hoosick Falls, NY; Kevin (Megan) Kennedy, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Chera (Robert) Hollar, Battiest, OK. Siblings, Beth Ann (Wayne) Brant, Troy, NY, Glenn (Steve) Creel III, Portland, ME, and Julie (Jeff) MacDonald, Pittsfield, MA. She also leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren; numerous treasured nieces and nephews; as well as many esteemed neighbors and caretakers.
A memorial service for Terri will be held on Friday October 14, 2022 at 2pm at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201 with her sister Reverend Julie MacDonald officiating.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions in honor of Terri may be made to BAYADA through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201. Online guestbook condolences may be made at www.maharandsonfuneralhome.net

He also enjoyed watching football with his stepson Bill and stepdaughter Cheri. He cherished game days and the shared connection with Cheri and Bill very much. His grandson Robbie also echoes his grandfather’s love for the game, as he pursues a career in professional football, an accomplishment that Charlie boasted about often. Charlie can be recognized in Bennington as “the guy in the bandana who was always running around the track” at MAUHS where his grandchildren Bridgette and James attended. Terry Lowell Creach - November 20, 1949 - September 08, 2022

Departed: 09/08/2022 (Bennington)
Obituary Preview: NORTH BENNINGTON-
Terry Lowell Creach, born November 20, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri, died September 8, 2022 at his home in North Bennington, Vermont. He was an accomplished postmodern dancer and choreographer who taught dance at Bennington College from 1987 to 2019. While at Bennington, he served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 2004 to 2010 and Acting Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs from 2017 to 2017.
Terry grew up in Missouri and Illinois, graduating from high school in Geneseo, Illinois. He obtained a degree in dance and theatre from the University of Oregon in 1972.
Terry’s early career included dancing with Musawwir Gymnastic Dance Co., Rotante Dance Co., James Cunningham’s Acme Co., the Vanaver Caravan, Annabelle Gamson, and Jane Comfort. In 1983, he and Stephen Koester founded the New York-based Creach/Koester dance company, which mostly performed duet pieces, including in collaboration with Bill T. Jones. In 1996, the company became Creach/Company under Terry’s direction and often performed in larger ensembles (generally all male, which remains rare). The company toured extensively, including performances in Danspace Project, The Kitchen, Symphony Space, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, Cleveland Public Theater, and Teatro de la Danza in Mexico City. Terry’s choreography explored partnering, sharing space, taking weight, collaborative improvisation, and male athleticism. In his thoughtful, curious, detail-oriented approach to collaborative explorations, he demonstrated respect for the company members’ artistic vision and creativity.
Terry served as a guest choreographer and teacher at numerous national and international dance programs including Tisch School of the Arts at New York University Summer Dance Festival, the Juilliard School, Ohio State University, Florida Dance Festival, Instituto Nacional de Belles Arts in Mexico City, University of Florida, Bates Dance Festival, and University of Maryland, College Park. His choreographic commissions included Daghdha Dance Co. of Limerick, Ireland; Mo-Trans Dance of Missoula, Montana; Dance Repertory Theater of Florida State University; and Nugent & Matteson Dance. He received choreographic fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Foundation for the Arts, and the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts.
It is fitting that Terry’s approach to dance was often collaborative. His sweet disposition, ready laugh, and interpersonal sensitivity surely contributed to his effectiveness as an academic dean, as he deftly and diplomatically achieved consensus (or at least acceptance) on thorny academic issues among a faculty of diverse opinions, talents, and personalities. Collaboration also characterized many of the dinners and other gatherings with dear friends in the Bennington community which delighted Terry so much.
Terry is survived by his sister Lynn Spaight (and husband Tom Spaight) of Asheville, North Carolina; brother Don Creach (and wife Karen Raschke) of Richmond, Virginia; niece Chrissy Spaight of Los Angeles, California; aunt Marjorie Moore of Springfield, Missouri; and godson Theo Poulson of Lenox, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Creach of Macks Creek, Missouri and his mother, Bobby Creach of Preston, Missouri.
A memorial gathering will be held at Bennington College, at 2:00 p.m. on November 20th.
Anyone wishing to make a charitable contribution in Terry’s memory is encouraged to donate to Danspace Project Inc. in New York City, Bennington County Habitat for Humanity, or the Fund for North Bennington, Inc., through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main Street Bennington, VT 05201.
