Cheryl was born August 6, 1949, in Wellsville, NY to the late Ralph and Marjorie Lauzze. She married her high school sweetheart, Bruce, and spent 57 years with the love of her life and bestfriend. Cheryl’s legacy is one of sacrificial love. She truly put every person’s wants and needs before her own. She was a giving person who spent her life comforting others. Cheryl was a faithful servant of the Lord. She sprinkled her love of God in everything she did. Her family and friends will miss her always but rejoice in knowing that we will see her again when we join her in heaven.

Those left behind to cherish Cheryl’s memory are her beloved husband of 55 years, Bruce Fisher; two wonderful children, Bruce Fisher, Jr. (Karla) and Jennifer Hawley (Stephen); six precious grandchildren, Mickey, Olivia, Alexander, Sophia, Jessie, and Brett; one cherished brother, Ralph Lauzze (Tanya); and a special brother-in-law, Paul Paradowski (Lin).

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2023, in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. A funeral service to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 5, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. John White, of First Assembly of Morganton, officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Iva Arrowood Sprouse, age 90, passed away at Mission Hospital of McDowell on October 22, 2023. She is of the Dysartsville community and was born in McDowell County on March 15, 1933 to the late James “Jim” Arrowood and Lona Walker Arrowood. Iva was a long-time member of Macedonia Baptist church. She enjoyed Coloring, Dot to dot, and playing with her dog Trixie. Iva was devoted to her family and was a hard worker. For many years Iva and her husband Earl ran a cattle farm. She knew how and did operate all the equipment on their farm. Iva was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Iva is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Sprouse.

Surviving is her son, Earl Sprouse of Hickory; four brothers, Jack Arrowood (Carolyn) of Hickory, Arnold Arrowood (Wanda) of Lenoir, Jeff Arrowood (Barbra) of Newton, and Donald Arrowood (Jane) of VA; four sisters, Lillian Morris (Blane) of Shelby, Jean Williams of Roanoke, VA, Marie Mode (Bob) of Newton, and Carol Weaver (Rick) of Lexington; granddaughter, Brandy Sprouse; and three great grandchildren, Cadence, Hunter, Payton.

A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with pastor Brian Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
