Obituary Preview: Richard A. Kline, 62 , of LaGrange passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children at University Hospital in Cleveland on April 13,2022 following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Medina, Ohio on August 28, 1959 to Kenneth and Marjorie Kline, Richard lived mostly in Grafton before moving to Lagrange after marrying and having children.
Mr. Kline graduated from Midview High School in 1977. Richard learned many trades throughout the years , including welding and later in life went onto truck driving school and was lastly employed as a truck driver at K Trucking in Elyria.
Mr. Kline enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing or just sitting outside. Richard enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who will miss him deeply.
He is survived by his daughter Samantha ( Tony) Andrews, grandson Brody all of Elyria; son Lee( Valerie) Kline, grand-daughters Allie, Chelsea and Paige all of LaGrange; daughter Sarah ( Matthew) Simkovich, grandsons AJ and Aiden, all of Lorain; and mother of his 3 children Myrtice; son Jason( Cherie) Johnston of Warsaw; sister Carol ( Jim- deceased) Grassbaugh of Miami, Florida; Ginger( Danny ) Dechant of Oberlin; Barb ( Ken ) Wolff of Spencer; and Art ( Char) Kline of North Ridgeville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Marjorie Kline.
Friends may call in the Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton on Tuesday April 19, 2022 from 5 PM until prayer service at 7 PM with Rev. John  P. Seabold, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, officiating.

Obituary Preview: Stella Newman (nee Offill ), age 93 of Carlisle Township passed away Sunday April 10, 2022 in the Arden Courts of Westlake Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born August 5, 1928 in Ashland, Kentucky and was a 1947 graduate of Southpointe High School. She is survived by sons George David ( Ellen ) Newman of North Carolina and Robert Alan Newman of South Carolina. Survivors also include her brother Paul Offill of Florida, 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Stella was preceded in death by her husband David Newman, daughter Carol Linda Schumader and several siblings. Stella spent the last seven years at Arden Courts Memory Care facility in Westlake. She had peacefully passed on to meet with her husband David and will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM in the LaPorte Cemetery, Carlisle Township on Wednesday April 13, 2022. She was a very active and involved member of the former Assumption Catholic Church, now Our Lady Queen of Peace. Helen enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents Anthony & Virginia ( nee Szczepanski ) Glowiske, her sister Dorothy  and her brother Anthony Glowiske. Linda was born June 8, 1968 in Berea, Ohio.  She loved to read, do puzzles, listen to country music and gospel music, spend time with her grandchildren, go to Amish country, go to outlet malls, and visit various flea markets.  She collected Longaberger baskets, Princess House crystal, Monopoly games, and Elvis memorabilia.  Her life-long dream came true, when she spent her 50th birthday at Graceland, home of Elvis Presley. Linda is survived by her husband of 5 years, Charles R Boyd Jr (Chuck); her daughters Heather McCamish, Amanda Webster, Megan Webster ( Michael ), Dawn Webster, and son Aaron Joseph (Brandon Haas); brothers Emery (Jenny), Matthew, and Benji; and stepmother Carole, and numerous grandchildren (Alyasia, Jared, K’Leon, Anthony, Olivia, Serenity, Faith, and Taij), that she loved with all her heart! Linda was preceded in death by her father Emerson L Blackburn (2021), sister-in-law Monica (Brennan) Blackburn (2021), grandson Andrew Joseph Picone (2017), her mother Patsy Blackburn (2002), along with other various family members. Obituary Preview: Muriel Lee Hosey, 88, of Grafton passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 following a long illness.  She was born January 5, 1934 in Orton, West Virginia to Elkie and Gladys Beane and lived in Grafton most of her life.   After graduating from Belden High School in 1951, she married Walter “Brad” Hosey on March 17, 1956 at Belden United Methodist Church.  Muriel was a loving wife and mother to her three daughters.  She worked as a sales clerk at Moelk Sales in Elyria for many years until her retirement. Muriel was a devoted member of Belden United Methodist Church where she formed many lifelong friendships with her church family and enjoyed singing in the choir.  In the mid-70s, she played drums and sang in The Beldenaires, alongside close friends Errolyn Sooy and Tess Reisinger.  As musicians, they recorded an album and toured the tri-state area, ministering to churches and groups for over 40 years.   Muriel will be remembered for her sense of style and outgoing personality.  An easy conversationalist and thoughtful listener, she had a special ability to connect with everyone she met.  She also enjoyed shopping, sewing, and cooking homestyle meals.  Above all, Muriel had a deep sense of family.  This was most apparent at family gatherings and holidays, where she and her beloved sister Virginia served as warm and loving hosts.    Muriel is survived by daughters Kelli Hosey Mackaman of Laporte, Tracy (Tom) Fries of Grafton, and Jamie Melton of Grafton; sister Virginia Hosey; brother Gerald (Nomi) Beane; grandchildren Zach (Bianca) Fries, Tyler Fries, Jonathan Koeth, Chelsey (Clint) Mirto, and Jaiden Ortiz; great-grandchildren Emmett and Molly Fries. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elkie and Gladys Beane, and husband, Brad. Obituary Preview: Sophie Cox, age 98 passed away Saturday February 26, 2022 at Plum Creek Assisted Living in Brunswick Hills, Ohio where she was a permanent resident. Born in Millville, New Jersey, Sophie was the youngest of seven children born to Joseph & Agnes Kupsky whom had preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her husband Sherman and daughter Sharon Siron ( Ralph ). She is survived by her son Raymond Cox ( Lynne ) of Litchfield, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Sophie loved to do crafts, sewing, metal detecting and playing Bingo with the residents of Plum Creek . She loved life and loved God. She was a member of the Belden United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was also the first mate on her husband's charter fishing boat for 10 years. Graveside services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belden United Methodist Church. A special thanks goes out to Plum Creek and Traditions Health  Hospice Care for their extreme compassion, professionalism and exceptional care. Obituary Preview: Judith A. Schultz, 78.5, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 after a battle with Multiple System Atrophy. She was born July 21, 1943 in Columbia Station and a relative of the Jacob Reisinger (1808-1885) family that emigrated from Germany to Columbia Station, Ohio in 1834.  “Judy” as most people knew her was a nurse and lifelong Lorain County resident raised on Willow Str in Grafton. Judy graduated Midview High School in 1961 & M.B. Johnson School of Nursing of Oberlin Ohio in 1964. Judy married Donald Schultz on October 2, 1965. Judy & Don were married for 53 years and had two children. They made their home on Jamestown Ave in Elyria before making a permanent home by the farm in Carlisle Twp in 1972.
Judy worked for many years in nursing at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Dr. V. Thomas Mannarelli OGBYN Clinic in Elyria and Lorain County Health Department TB Clinic. When not working as a nurse she was also for 5 years the C.F.O of Locust-Top Holsteins Dairy Farm, a 25-year Advisor to the Carlisle True 4-Hers Club and Lifelong Active Member of Grafton United Methodist Church. Judy was chief processor of the family backyard garden making sauerkraut, canning tomatoes, sweet corn and cornucopia of other vegetables.
She enjoyed supporting her husband even if his interests were not her main interests like going to dirt track, speedway races and tractor pulls. Judy was involved in the East Carlisle Elementary School PTA and Substitute Teacher. She liked camping with friends in Mohican area and traveling to Amish Country. Her trip to Europe in 1987 held a special place in her heart.

Judy is survived by her sons Kirk of Grafton, OH, & Eric of Cato, NY and 1 grandchild of Cato, NY. Judy was preceded in Death by her husband Donald (3/2019) and her parents Howard and Vera Boone.

Obituary Preview: Robert A. Harvey, age 84 of Grafton Township passed away in his home on Tuesday February 1, 2022 following a long illness. He worked at General Motors for 40 years before he retired in 1997. During his retirement he enjoyed wood working and built several pieces of oak furniture for his wife, daughters, sisters, grandchildren and other family members, and also made the cross for Belden United Methodist Church. He enjoyed mowing, working in the yard, plowing snow for all the neighbors, and spending time with his family. He was born in Cassville, WV and moved to Ohio in the mid 1950s.
He married his wife Joyce (Bacon) in April 1965 and they were married for 56 years. He is survived by his wife Joyce, daughters SueAnn Naso (Tom), Karen Landers (Kevin), grandchildren Brittany Costa, Stephanie Naso, Brendan Costa (Eva), Lauren Landers (Beau), and Jacob Landers, great-grandchildren Addalyn Dotson, Elsie Dotson, and Theodore Costa, sister Jackie Bell (John), brother Joel Harvey, sister-in-law and brother- in-law Marjorie and Dale Bort, sister in-law Maryann Bacon, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Pearl (Baldwin) Harvey, siblings Junior Harvey (Patty), Keith Harvey (Rose), Eyleen Paugh (Donald), Kenny Harvey (Geneva), Colleen Sperandio (Donald), Virginia Meyers (Merle), brother in-law Bill Elliott, and sister in-law Betty Harvey.

Courtney was born in Elyria on December 25, 1989, a Christmas gift to her parents. Courtney  had a big contagious laugh and a smile that would light up any room. She loved to travel and experience new and exciting adventures. She loved all kinds of animals, and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. Courtney had a big heart, loved her family and family gatherings. She is survived by her parents Raymond and Tammy ( Stout ) Smith, her sister Amber ( Andrew ) Greenhill, brother Brandon Smith and by grandmother Joyce ( Raymond ) Smith. She is also survived by several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Helen was an avid Cleveland sports fan of the Cavaliers, Browns and the Indians. She also enjoyed polka music and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. She loved doing word search puzzles daily. She had lived her entire life on the Walko Brothers Farm. Survivors include niece Barbara ( Mark ) Chicotel, she loved dearly and will be greatly and by many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John & Eva ( nee Barna ) Walko, sisters Betty Moss, Ann Walko, Mary Hibler and by brothers Andrew, Peter, Mike, Frank, William and Harry Walko. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Welcome Nursing Home, especially Connie, Cecelia and Tina, for their care and concern. Due to the rampant spread of Covid, masks are required as well as social distancing guidelines. Obituary Preview: Jeanne C. (Pastva) Walker, 86 of Eaton Township passed away on Sunday January 9, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio; the daughter to the late Steven and Elizabeth Pastva. Jeanne worked for Ohio Bell and later as a math calculator for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) Lewis Research Center. She was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest child entered college. She then returned to the workforce at NASA Glenn Research Center as a Supervisor for DK & Associates until retirement. Jeanne served as a volunteer for Voices for Children and helped to establish the Eaton Township Veterans Memorial. Jeanne loved the arts and performed in many choirs and play productions throughout her life. During much of her marriage Jeanne enjoyed traveling with her husband Ernie and exploring the many National Parks. Jeanne left behind her husband of 67 years, Ernie Walker, sister Loretta Pastva, SND, children Susan J. Walker and Thomas D. Walker (Angela), foster son Joseph DeVito, and two granddaughters Olivia and Gabrielle Walker. She was loved by many and will be missed tremendously. A celebration of Jeanne's life will be planned as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Avon Oaks Nursing Home for many years of care. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township and arrangements are being handled by the Duke Funeral Home; 1021 Main St. Grafton.
