The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday May 3, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. and will resume on Saturday at 10:00A.M. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.

Obituary Preview: Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at 1:30 in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Betty Gwen Thibodeaux 87, who passed away at her home in Morse on Saturday April 20, 2024.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Tuesday April 23, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 1:30 PM. with a rosary to be recited at 1:00 P.M. all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Burial will follow in Istre Cemetery in Mermentau Cove. Betty graduated from Morse High School in 1954 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from SLI, now UL in 1957. Betty was an educator for 33 years, most of those years were spent at Morse Elementary School where she served as teacher, counselor and principal. She was affectionately known as Ms. Betty to her students who were like her own children
Ms. Betty was also well-known and respected in the community of Morse. She was kind and very generous to all she came in contact with. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sister Julie Miers of Jennings and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton Joseph and Annie Mae Chiasson Prejean, husband, John S. Thibodeaux, children; John E. (Boo)Thibodeaux and Thomas E. (Bubba) Thibodeaux, brothers; Charles and Jimmy Prejean.

Survivors include one son, Getty “Jimmy” Briscoe of California; one daughter, Brandy LeJeune of Church Point; grandson he raised as a son, Joe Brasseaux and wife, Courtney of Church Point; one sister, Sherry Briscoe of Church Point; two brothers, Blane and Nancy Briscoe of Richard; Lane Briscoe of Church Point; six grandchildren, Michael Ortiz, Valerie Boudreaux, Blaze Dowden, Ashley Hope, Harley LeJeune, Cody Briscoe; four great-grandson, Grant and Grayson Brasseaux of Church Point, Angel and Sebastian of California; two great-granddaughters, Briana of Church Point, and Avalee of California.
Getty was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Briscoe; two daughters, Tammy Richard and Lisa Wysinger; his parents, Lloyd and Verly Briscoe; three brothers, Timmit, Ray Lloyd, and Dennis Briscoe; one sister, Dorothy B. Aymond.
Getty was a life long resident of Church Point. He was drafted into the Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He loved cooking, and telling stories. Getty also loved hunting with his dogs and was an avid outdoors man. Watching Western movies was something he did often in his spare time.

Obituary Preview: The family announce the passing of their Father Mr Louis Roy Sr. who passed away April 14 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Mr Louis was 84 yrs old and a life long resident of Estherwood. His parents where Mr Lagge Roy and Verta I Roy. Louis was one of 7 children. He was well known by so many people. During his younger years he hung around with his friends and worked on his antique cars and playing his guitar. Later In life he met Mrs Elia M. Istre who later became his beautiful wife. They later became parents to their first born child who was a beautiful baby girl they were very thrilled to be parents. During this time Mr Louis was working for the Estherwood rice mill there he remained for many yrs and did car repairs on the side. As years pass Mr Louis became a Father to 5 Other children . He worked very hard to make sure his family was well provided for. many yrs later Mr Roy had his own wrecker service along with working as a farm hand. Mr Louis also had a love for animals. He had his on farm which he really enjoyed .Mr Louis was a jack of all trades he was a man that gave his all when he did something . He was a very loving husband and father. Louis is survived by his children Shelia M . Jeffers and finance Phil veronie of Sunset, Louis Roy Jr of Crowley, Katherine Istre Greschke, Husband Robert Dale Greschke of Crowley , Patricia M. Istre and Ray Allen Istre of Estherwood, Brenda Gail Hebert of Crowley, Wayne Dale Roy, Veronica Morgan of Egan. He was a loving grandfather to 24 grandchildren and and 22 great Grandchildren. He was proceeded in Death by his loving wife Elia m Roy. father Lagge Roy, mother Verta I Roy, brothers William Roy,Joseph Roy, Lee Jay Roy. Sister Dorothy dronet. Nephew Richard Roy, Randal Roy Stephen Roy 1 niece Donna cormier. 2 grandchildren crystal Gail Roy, Nicholas Istre. 2 son inlaws Wallace and John Istre Jr.
He will be forever missed and loved by all who knew him.
Visitation will be on Monday May 6, 2024 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley.

Jan was born June 16, 1961 to the late Donald Chiasson and Dianna Breaux. She will be missed dearly and remembered for her hard-working ethics. Jan was definitely one of a kind and always willing to help others with major tasks. She worked doing many things but running a bar was one of her favorites. She later managed Popeye's until an accident in 2003 that left her disabled. She loved cooking, cleaning and gardening most of all. She was good at it even though her physical health wasn’t great. She embraced the world every day with a smile. Loving the Lord and attending Church was something she enjoyed and cherished the moments she had with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory is her only son Kelly Hoffpauir, wife Brandy of Lake Charles grandchildren;, Daven Timothy, of Lafayette, Brentlee Jayne of Marksville, Kaylee Dawn of Lafayette and AliceAnn Joy of Bossier City as well as her beloved dog Scooter. Her mother, Dianna Breaux, and stepdad JD Breaux of Crowley, sister Judy Phillips of SC, nieces; Priscilla, Phillips, and Amanda Hines of SC nephews; Casey Chiasson and wife, Brittany of Oregon, Shane Phillips and wife Kami of SC, great nieces; Maya, Maddie, Melody, Harmony, Piper, Emily, and a great nephew Luca. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Chiasson, grandparents, Anna Mae (MaMa Duc) and Lloyd Chiasson, sisters; Jackie, Jenny, and Jerry Lee. One Son, John(Celeste) Richard of Crowley, La. One brother, Martin Seaux of Mire, LA and her Eleven Grandchildern Daniel Domingue, Nicole Hargrave, Cally Morgan, Jalyn Richard, John P Richard, Ryan Domingue, Jordan Richard, Marlene Murrell, Wayne Richard II, Emma Morgan and Wade Richard and 18 Great Grandchildren and two Godchildern Barbara Istre and Pamela Seaux.
She is preceded in Death by her husband Joseph H Richard, her Son Wayne A Richard, grandson Thomas(TJ) Morgan, Jr., her brothers Clovis Seaux, Ewell Seaux, Andrus Seaux, Richard Seaux and two sisters Olivia Seaux and Willie Belle Seaux. Her parents Lover Paul Seaux and Orelia Lantier.

Mr. Richard retired from Coca Cola after 32 years. He had a strong work ethic that he passed to his children. He was involved in the beginning of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Parish, and Redemptorist Grade School. He was a church usher, and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He helped at many K of C bingos.
His interest in politics led him to serve of the Council on aging board, the Crowley Planning committee, and various boards for Redemptorist Grade School.
During his life he enjoyed coaching his children in sporting events. He was a pitcher with the K of C Men’s softball league. He also loved to fish, camp at the beach and he and his brother were weekend farmers. Pallbearers for the services will be his grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be his great-grandsons
.
