Obituary Preview: David (Dave) Brock Dowler, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 23rd. Dave was a man of God who lived his faith through kindness and love. From leading prayers to sharing comforting words with those who were suffering, to know Dave was to know what Christianity looks like in practice. A true family man, he spent his life making sure his family knew they were loved and cared for. For 46 years he and his beloved wife Judy were each other's rock. He leaves behind many happy memories of family vacations, picnics, and Play Nine games. Throughout his life, Dave saw the United States–from Maine to Washington– as a long-haul truck driver. Even when he stopped driving, the call of “The Last American Cowboy” was still there and he wanted to make one last run. Dave was a friend to everyone, including the homeless. As an avid music lover, if you had your guitar case open on the street, you could expect a few extra bucks and a “good job” as he walked by. Over the past few years Dave had been teaching himself to play guitar and was looking forward to learning drums. Dave will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor. He always had a joke ready to go, and a laugh that was contagious. In retirement, Dave was able to visit thrift stores across the Eastern United States in search of a good deal, spend time bird watching, and spend time with his much-loved grandchildren and family.Dave leaves behind his wife Judy; his children Laura (Brian) Dowler, Michelle (Steven) Andrus, and Janice Dowler; his grandchildren Jordan, Grace, Summer, Jake, Steve Jr., and Jonah; and his brothers Robert (Paula) Dowler, Dale (Sandy) Dowler, Jr., and Walter (Beth decd.) After a long day of work at MFG, she would pop popcorn, grab some Lil Huggies, and take all the neighborhood children to Lakeshore Park for hours. You could often find her skating with her husband, and the neighborhood children at Nappi’s Roller Den. She also loved animals, had love doves, and owned many dogs throughout her life. Carol’s #1 hobby was fishing with her husband. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters.Carol met the love of her life, Theodore “Ted” Haskins, Sr., who affectionately called her “Baby Doll” and they were married on April 14, 1984. They relocated to South Carolina, where she called home for the last 38 years. She was employed at East Cooper Medical Center for more than 30 years. Jola B. Holcomb, 75, of Andover and formerly of Dorset passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

She was born May 23, 1948, in Pierpont, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Eva (Misener) Williams. Jola married Albert Holcomb on October 27, 1965, in Pierpont, Ohio and together they had five children.

Jola enjoyed baking, reading, sewing, and knitting. She liked to put together puzzles and play online games. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

He became a certified brick mason. He was an expert car detailer and later had a very successful business detailing cars in Atlanta, Ga.Jerry was a self- taught musician who became an accomplished drummer and played with local musicians and bands in the 70’s and 80’s in the area. He then went on to tour professionally with Corneilius Brothers and Sister Rose. Many local musicians still share their memories of playing with Jerry and his influence on their career.Jerry was passionate about his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Richard William Runnion, Jr., 33, of Ashtabula passed away Friday, April 5, 2024.

He was born July 24, 1990, in Ashtabula, the son of Richard Runnion Sr. and Diana (Beaver) Neyhard. A lifelong area resident Richard graduated from Lakeside High School Class of 2010.

Rich enjoyed riding four wheelers and playing video games, he could often be found working on or detailing cars. He loved animals and was an avid fan of comedy movies. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and his family.

He is survived by his mother Diana (Rickie) Neyhard; father, Richard Runnion, Sr.; his companion of 14 years and mother of his children, Hayley Davis; his children, Richard III, Darcy, and Mason Runnion; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
