He was the beloved husband of Suzana P. (Fernandes) Greenwood.
Mark was born in Lowell on May 30, 1972 and was a son of Louise Bolduc and her husband Denis of Hooksett, NH and Donald Greenwood of Lowell.
Many don’t know the whole story of Mark R. Greenwood. He was obviously a devoted Husband and Father, a big brother, an Uncle, a cousin, and a friend to so many. But he was also a spontaneous and adventurous traveler, setting off to different states on his own from early in his teen years. He was an accomplished painter and writer. He penned seven different books of prose and poetry, as well as many short stories of fiction. He could paint with watercolor or acrylic onto canvas anything that he saw. Believing he learned all he knew from Bob Ross. He was a gifted actor and an accomplished Master of Ceremonies for Fitchburg State College where he studied History and Pre-Law and at the same time met his four legged best friend, Baby. He was an influencer long before it was a recognized thing. He is quietly credited with taking the first selfies in history. Many people looked to him as a source of inspiration and encouragement. His religious beliefs and knowledge made others seek him out for advice. He earned the nickname “the Rev”. The battles he faced head on and persevered through displayed his strength and courage. He smiled everyday when others would have broken down for good. He was a personal trainer who took pride in teaching others the way of strength training. Whether through fashion or photography he was always leading the way. He met and mingled with some A list athletes, celebrities and public figures. He coached boys baseball for 16 years winning an amateur championship before retiring in 2023. He enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles, especially his ’85 Mercury Capri. Most of all he loved his children. His favorite pastime was “nuggling” his little girl if he wasn’t watching her perform on stage. More than anything, he will miss the quality time he spent with his wife and his children, and the moments they shared together as a family.

Obituary Preview: Faustina (Faustie) Dean Wood formerly of Dracut and Pelham, NH died peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the D’Youville Senior Care Community in Lowell where she had lived for over 2 years.
She was born in Lowell, MA 101 years ago on January 28, 1923, to the late Sadie Kenworthy Dean and Thomas Dean, and was the devoted wife of Alden F. Wood, and sister of Donald Dean who both predecease her.
After graduating from Lowell High School in 1940, Faustie attended Burdette Business College in Boston which prepared her with the skills she would apply at her job as Executive Secretary for twenty-four years at Raytheon in Lexington, MA. This was during an era when most mothers stayed home raising their family. Her career in the corporate world contributed to her love of dressing professionally and Faustie could always be seen wearing the latest color coordinated outfits and jewelry. Over the years, she continued to meet and remain in touch with her lifelong Raytheon colleagues.
She led an active, social life with Alden and their three sons: Alden Jr, Derek, and Gary. During the summer, she and her husband Alden spent many weeks camping in the Sunapee, N.H. area with close friends Dot and Len Collins, and during the winter she and Alden often travelled to Venice, Florida to escape the harsh New England weather. Faustie enjoyed travelling and in more recent years, spent weeks in Murrells Inlet, S.C. with her son Gary and wife, Cathy, who retired there.
As an active member of the Dracut, Chelmsford, and Pelham Senior Centers, Faustie could be found playing Bingo 3-4 times a week at one of the Centers and was always ready to socialize with her circle of friends at the Pelham, NH Senior Housing complex. She particularly enjoyed her Senior bus trips to Foxwoods. As a longtime member of Dracut’s Christ Church United, she also participated in their activities. Faustie was fiercely independent, and even in her late ninety’s would be seen driving to these events. For years she also drove to Ossipee, NH during summer weekends to spend precious time with family. She was an avid reader with a special fondness for mysteries, and always had a crossword puzzle nearby. For over 30 years, her administrative and financial skills were put to beneficial use as the lead Trustee for the Hanson Trust, a Trust Fund for the Worthy Poor of Lowell. She was a renaissance woman for her time.
Faustie is survived by her three sons and their wives; Alden and Diane Wood of Westford, MA; Derek and Sharon Wood of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; and Gary and Cathy Wood of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Faustie leaves behind nine grandchildren and their spouses; Kevin Wood and wife Colleen Lyons of Amherst, N.H.; Kathy Cayer of Nahua, NH; Bruce Cayer of Tyngsboro, MA; Ashley Wood Schelling and husband Ben of Washington D.C.; Jeremy Wood and wife Shelby of New Orleans, LA; Jamie Wood and partner Mike Mathewson of Putnam, CT; Justin Wood of Webster, MA; Bryan Wood and wife Audra of Londonderry, N.H.; Christopher Wood of Hudson, N.H.; and Rebecca Wood of Southbridge, MA. Thirteen great-grandchildren raging in age from 18 months to 29 years old, several nieces, nephews, and cousins rounded out Faustina’s large family.

Melissa R. McCarthy - February 10, 1983 - March 31, 2024

Departed: 03/31/2024 (Dracut)
Obituary Preview: Melissa "Maddy" R. McCarthy, age 41, a resident of Concord, MA, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 31, 2024, in her wife’s arms after a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. She is the beloved wife and best friend of Melissa J. McCarthy with whom she enjoyed 20 years of marriage and friendship.
She was born in Lowell on February 10, 1983 and is the daughter of Paul and Charleen (Beaulieu) McCarthy.
Melissa was raised in the small town of Dracut. She had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile in her eyes. She was a private and quiet person, but also very witty and fun! She was fearless and independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. As a child, she was a self-professed tomboy who loved being outside skinning her knees and getting dirty. As an adult, she was a proud lesbian woman, a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend, and an advocate for social justice and equality. The name Maddy echoes and follows with her, every child she met, loved her child-like heart and the fact that she was always ready for fun and any shenanigans.
Melissa attended Saint Joseph’s College of Maine where she completed two Bachelor's degrees in Theology and Sociology. She had a zest for life and thrived on doing for others. On her breaks and vacations, during any chosen semester, you could find Melissa volunteering - her most cherished was an annual trip to Passamaquoddy where she would work serving others on tribal lands. In her free time you could find her engaged in all of the activities on campus, her favorite was getting up on stage at karaoke nights and singing Baby Got Back by Sir-Mix-A lot. Most recently, Melissa found her passion working as the Office Manager at Chelmsford Public Library. She took pride in her work and enjoyed actively participating in committees, e.g., the Sunshine Committee where she could continue to serve others, especially in time of need. In her home life, Melissa and her wife created a family and built a home around two handsome boys who were the center of her universe. Melissa longed for movie nights and snuggles, she yearned for road trips and adventures, kicked off by blasting Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car, and a loud yell from the back seat “Yee-haw!” A family theme was “Our Greatest Adventure” from the Pixar movie UP, and Melissa embraced every family moment with vim and vigor. In the last 10 months of her life, Melissa spent several months going through chemotherapy, but it never stopped her from adventuring with her family. She created bucket lists and wish lists checking off each one with support from family, friends, and the community. There is no doubt she has left a legacy that will live on and be carried in the hearts and actions of many.
In addition to her loving wife, Melissa is survived by her two children Lyric A. McCarthy age 15, and Sebastian L. McCarthy age 13 of Concord, her two parents Paul and Charleen McCarthy, her brother Michael of Dracut. Her nieces and nephews, communities she touched.
