Justin L. Austin - March 21, 1943 - June 19, 2022

Departed: 06/19/2022 (Westbury)
Obituary Preview: Justin Leslie Austin, nicknamed "Sam" by his mother (after Samson in the Bible), was born on March 21, 1943, in the Dutch Hill District, near Ulster Spring, Jamaica.  He was the youngest of six children and the only son of Susan Cecilia [Fairclough] and Luther Leslie Austin, a land-owning farmer in the yam-rich parish of Trelawny.  Like his father, Justin loved the land and status as a "Trelawny Man." He graduated from the Jamaica School of Agriculture and was well known on the island as an expert salesman in livestock and vegetation products.
In 1980, Justin migrated to the United States, where he had a brief stint in banking followed by several positions as an auto mechanic.  But, always the handyman and businessman, he worked constantly to improve his home repair, remodeling and property management skills.
Raised in a strong Baptist household, Justin loved to pray.  He was also a fierce debater on ANY subject and quick to share his knowledge and life experiences, always with a spirit of encouragement and guidance.  He was a generous giver who delighted in a boisterous game of dominoes or a soulful rendition on his harmonica.  In his travels, he relished the familiar blue waters, warm breezes, dazzling sunsets and food of the Caribbean.
Justin is survived by Pauline, his wife of 40 years, and sisters Una and Ann. He was preceded in death by sisters Joyce, Eulalee, Vivia and half-sister Mary. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Marie Therese David - February 27, 1934 - June 14, 2022

Departed: 06/14/2022 (Westbury)
Obituary Preview: Marie Therese David, 88 years of age, was born February 27, 1934, longtime resident of Westbury, NY formerly of Fawn Lake, Pennsylvania where she and Serge retired. Marie passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022 surrounded by her Son, Philip and two Granddaughters, Alana and Michelle.
Marie was born to her parents Marcel and Andre Guerin. Marie was born in the Loire Valley in a small town named Pierrefiette, France where she married her husband Serge. They had one daughter, Martine and one son, Philip. She grew up with three siblings: Monique, Jacqueline, and Michel.
Survived by her son Philip, daughter-in-law Elizabeth and two grandchildren Alana and Michelle.
She cherished her family in France and enjoyed visiting her family home each year. We will celebrate her life during a ceremony and mass in her home town next month with the whole family in France. She also treasured her goods friends from Westbury and Pennsylvania.
We have wonderful memories of her. Her sense of humor, her class, always so well dressed and put together, a French “chic” style that she knew how to represent well. She was always getting her hair done at the salon and color coordinating her outfits. She loved getting her nails done, and spending time with her two Granddaughters. She knew how to appreciate good wines and cuisine. She was also, above all, an exceptional seamstress who had a passion for dressmaking, painting and playing Bridge with her friends.
Grandma is now in paradise with all her loved ones whom she loves so much. Today we know that she watches over all of us, and that she is at peace now with her husband Serge, and daughter Martine.
We loved her very much and will miss her dearly. "Tu Vas Nous Manquer" - (you will be missed in French)
