Obituary Preview: Douglas A. Miller, 69, passed away on April 27, 2024 at his home in Fort Thomas, KY.
Doug was born in Cincinnati, OH on May 30, 1954 to Alfred C. and Margaret Ann (Nowack) Miller.
Doug started working for Drees Homes straight out of high school and then went on to become a subcontractor after forming his own company. He was proud of the custom made bars he built for The Knotty Pine and Mochas, along with several in private homes. He was a huge sports fan and loved having company over to watch the Cincinnati Reds, the Bengals and UK basketball. Doug adored his family and grandkids and sorely missed being able to attend their school and sporting events due to health reasons.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Patti (Rechtin) Miller, daughter Shannon (Hunter) Thomas, sons Doug Miller and David (Jenny) Miller, brother Roger (Sandy) Miller, grandchildren Lauren, Kelsey, Liam, Stella, Michael and Eva.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Christ Church United Church of Christ in Fort Thomas. Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 am at Christ Church. Obituary Preview: Maurice Jacque “Jack” Weber, Jr. 94, of Ft. Thomas, passed away on Saturday, April 20th at Carmel Manor Nursing Home. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Evelyn Mae Fagin; brother, Norman Weber and sisters, Beverly Honebrink & LaVerne Lyons. He is survived by his son, Steve (Pam) Weber and daughters, Nancy (Jeff) Pinguely & Connie (Jim) DeLong, grandchildren, Scott (Josie) Weber, Chris Pinguely, Jamie (Nate) Berkley, Jenny (Brad) Campbell, Ryan (Katie) Pinguely, Brady (Katie) DeLong & Melissa (Alex) Havlin and 14 great grandchildren. Jack loved people and his work in sales for 42 years.He worked primarily as a manufacturer’s rep and traveled Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Jack was a lifelong member of Christ Church serving many years as treasurer, a member of the Church Council, taught Sunday School and was also a greeter and usher. In addition, he was a member of the Greater Cincinnati Housewares Club, where he served as president, Fort Thomas Optimist Club and a board member of the Holly Hill Children’s Home. Jack enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, sailing and vacationing at lakes and the ocean. After retirement, he enjoyed painting and also took art lessons at Baker Hunt. Christina was born in sunny California and enjoyed the good life while residing in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky. She graduated from Emmaus High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky. There, she would meet the love of her life, Kyle, who she surreptitiously re-nicknamed “Von.” Her love for Von could only be matched by her love for her two greatest joys, her sons Conrad and Hugo.
Christina studied ballet and other dance forms at the Repertory Dance Theatre and transformed that love of performance into her outsized personality that left a lasting impact on all who interacted with her. Professionally, Christina developed a passion for real estate, and built a career with Comey & Shepherd. Christina loved beach vacations, all things chocolate, and time spent with family and friends. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and unmatched ability to exude style at all times. But most of all, she will be remembered through Conrad and Hugo, who are the embodiment of Christina’s greatest qualities and the love she gave.

She is survived by her Husband of 59 years, Thomas D. Valz, Daughter, Tamme Valz, Sons, Marc Valz, and Pete (Kim) Valz, 4 Grandchildren, Spencer, Nolan, Samuel, Anna.

He could often be found in the kitchen experimenting with flavors to create delectable masterpieces that delighted his friends and family. Music was another avenue through which Brian found solace and joy. His eclectic taste ranged from the timeless composition of Beethoven to the rebellious energy of Guns N’Roses. Whether it was the soothing melodies that lifted his spirits or the head banging anthems that energized his soul, music was a constant companion that brought him immense pleasure. From an early age, Brian felt an innate connection with our furry friends. However,it was the pug breed that captured his heart like no other. Their squishy faces, playful antics, and unwavering loyalty brought immeasurable happiness to Brian’s life. Throughout his youth, Brian displayed a remarkable talent as a swimmer and was a valuable member of the Fort Thomas Swim Club. His dedication and hard work in the pool led to numerous accomplishments and accolades. However, as time went on, Brian's passion for football began to overshadow his achievements in swimming. Brian showcased his athletic prowess as a member of the University of Kentucky sports team. While his college years were filled with the thrill of competition, his passion for sports extended beyond graduation, remaining an integral part of his life. After completing his studies at Rawlins College, earning him a degree in International Business Affairs. He went on to work with Cushman and Wakefield in Miami, Florida. Holding a coveted seven series license, he displayed a profound understanding of the complexities of the market. Brian went on to open his own Real Estate company in Naples, Florida. Throughout his career, Brian exemplified the utmost dedication and commitment to his clients in the field of commercial real estate. With unwavering integrity and a keen understanding of market trends, he navigated the intricate landscape of property transactions, helping countless individuals and businesses find their ideal spaces. Bill was a dedicated member of the Local Electricians Union 212, where he showcased his electrical skills and commitment throughout his career. Bill was known as the Mayor of the Ft. Thomas Dog Park. He enjoyed making stained glass, pipe lamps and working jig saw puzzles.
Bill is survived by his wife, Terrie Hug; daughters, Melanie J. Hug, Kelly L. Hug; stepson, Tim Jones; grandsons, Donovan J. Mayes, Zayed Nejib and his former wife, Paula Ferman Hug . Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth "Libby" Padgett Hug, father, William C. Hug, and brothers, Dennis Hug, Robert Hug and Donald Hug.
His passion for his work and his military associations in the U.S. Navy exemplified his dedication and service to his country and community.

Pandely "Panny" Nicholas Sarakatsannis - June 21, 1939 - February 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Pandely “Panny” Nicholas Sarakatsannis, 84, passed into eternal life on Monday February 12, 2024, at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born to the late Nicholas and Melanthia Sarakatsannis, June 21, 1939, in Covington, KY. Panny had three passions in his life: family, sports, and music.
Panny graduated from Highlands High School in 1957, where he lettered in basketball, baseball, and football. For many years he held the Highlands High School basketball scoring record. His basketball talents earned him a scholarship to Western Kentucky University where he played four years for Coach E.A. Diddle. Following his 1961 college graduation he taught at Campbell County High School and Courter Tech before joining the family business, Dixie Chili. He managed Dixie Chili Covington and Erlanger locations for almost 50 years.
During the decade following college graduation Panny played bass guitar in several local bands, including Driving Winds and Vision, at multiple, popular venues including the Black Orchid in Southgate, Guys and Dolls in Cold Spring, and Cincinnati Gardens. These groups worked with several big acts including the Four Seasons, Beach Boys, Roger Miller, and James Brown. He often spoke about playing music and the tremendous friendships he made with musicians.
Panny married his late wife Judy Sarakatsannis on October 5, 1968, and they raised their three children in Fort Thomas. He and Judy supported their children at countless sports games and swim meets, eventually taking special delight in watching the grandkids do the same.
Panny is a member of the Highlands High School Athletic Hall of Fame, Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame and the Northern Kentucky Music Hall of Fame.
The family thanks Heaven Sent Care (especially Rhonda) for caring for Panny over the years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers James, Leon, George, and Chris. He is survived by his three children; son Greg (Julie) Sarakatsannis of Fort Thomas; daughter Katina Barth of Fort Thomas; son Mark (Stephanie) Sarakatsannis of Independence; brother Spiros Sarakatsannis of Cincinnati, OH; brother-in-law Ron (Debbie) Meyer of Fort Worth, TX; sister-in-law Marcie (Tim) Winter of Melbourne; sister-in-law Marie Sarakatsannis and sister-in-law Mary Ann Sarakatsannis-Jenkins; grandchildren Demetri, Sophia & Eva Sarakatsannis, Zoie & Zachary Barth, and Xarek & Analei Sarakatsannis; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, February 16 at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 S. Ft Thomas Av, Fort Thomas, KY. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery, Covington, KY. The family will hold a reception from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at The Highland Country Club, 931 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, KY.

Keith is survived by his wife, Janee Lawrence; his two sons, Chris Lawrence (Liz) and Scott Lawrence; sister, Denise Grause (Ken), brother, David Lawrence (Susan), and granddaughters, Charlotte, Lucy, and Amelia Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents, D.J. and Loraine Lawrence.
Keith attended Highlands High School where he was a member of the Bluebirds varsity basketball team and graduated in 1967. He graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1971 where he was a member of SAE and majored in Business Administration. Following graduation, he went to work for Southern Bell in Atlanta, GA as a programmer. He spent his entire career working for the phone company and made numerous moves around the Southeast and a short assignment in New Jersey. In 1978 he met Janee Hull on a cruise in the Caribbean. They later married in August 1979 and welcomed their sons Chris in 1983, and Scott in 1985.
Keith enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball and basketball, and was a life-long University of Kentucky basketball fan. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, fine dining, bourbon, and spending time with friends and family. He retired from AT&T in 2006 and moved to Southeast Georgia in 2009. Keith adored his family, in particular his three granddaughters.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A service to celebrate Keith’s life will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Wright Culpepper officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at Sanctuary Cove River House, 69 River Oaks Trail, Waverly, GA 31565.

Evelyn's gift of playing the piano, knack for all things crafty (especially earrings), and love of coral lipstick and fingernail polish, embellished sweaters, sweet wine, and the beach are things we will fondly remember about her. She was the accompanist for the Glee Club at Holmes High School and for Shinkle Methodist Church in Latonia, a volunteer for the St. Luke Ladies Auxiliary for many years, and a member of the Youth Haven Guild. Evelyn was an active lifelong member of Christ Church, United Church of Christ in Ft. Thomas. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence E. Fagin and mother Edna Pearl Fagin. Evelyn is survived by her husband Maurice "Jack" Weber Jr., son Steve (Pam) Weber, daughters Nancy (Jeff) Pinguely and Connie (Jim) DeLong, grandchildren Scott (Josie) Weber, Chris Pinguely, Jamie (Nate) Berkley, Jenny (Brad) Campbell, Ryan (Katie) Pinguely, Brady (Katie) DeLong, Melissa (Alex) Havlin and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to acting and directing shows Mary enjoyed traveling the world with Don and relaxing in their Florida home during the winters. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Harold & Ada Barkhau; husband, Donald Haas and sister, Martha (the late Ron) Malone.
