Obituary Preview: Steven T. Hansford III was born November 16, 1988 to the late Steven T. Hansford Jr. and Jill Hazel-Hansford. Steven was educated in Hackensack Public Schools until 4th grade and relocated to the Columbus County School system, graduating from East Columbus High School in 2006. Steven had various jobs throughout his life.
Steven grew up in the church and was baptized at the age of 13 by Rev. Ballard, the Pastor of Mt. Hebron AME Zion church in Hallsboro, No. He also sang in the children’s choir.
Steven loved life and music. He also loved listening to music and dancing the night away. His hobbies included rapping, cooking, and enjoying friends and family. He loved and lived his life to the fullest. Steven was smart, loved, and cherished by all who knew him.
Along with his father, Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Carolyn DeGroate and his aunt, Maxine Lennon.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his sons, Steven S. Hansford (Papa) and Aiden J. Locklear: his mother, Jill Hazel-Hansford; his brothers, Kaliym Hazel (Antoinette Walker-Hazel) and Marcus Hansford (Natesha Barnes); maternal Grandmother, Joan Hazel; paternal Grandfather, Ralph DeGroate; two nieces, Asia Hazel and Candace Hansford; two nephews, Marcus B. Hansford Jr. and Jamere Barnes; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
