Obituary Preview: Betty Marie Hall - “Nanney” December 21, 1937 - December 9, 2023
Betty Marie Hall, better known as “Nanney,” was loved by all who came into contact with her. She was a mother and grandmother not only to her family but to all the lovely humans that crossed her path. She was a life long care-giver no matter what jobs she had throughout her life. She was always ready to greet folks with a cup of coffee, a meal, a snack, or candy, and she always made sure that everyone knew that she loved them before they parted from her. She was loving, caring, stubborn, opinionated, hilarious, and playful. She was never afraid to be honest with you but you also always knew that she loved you.
She was born on December 21st, 1937 to Edgar and Verna Griffith in Webber Falls, OK and was raised with many siblings. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 knowing that she was dearly loved, she would be greatly missed, and that together we would find a way to be okay. She was preceded in death by her parents, all but one of her siblings, two sons in law, and two grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Sherrilyn, Jeanette, Sylvia Diane, Eugenia Marie, and Lesa Rene, her sons James Edward and Dale, her sister Martha Haney, and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren as well as her dearly loved dog Molly and many others who called her “Nanney.” She spent the last year of her life at the Evergreen Care Center where she was loved and very well cared for by all of the staff, who she thought of as her children as well.
She enjoyed reading, Louis La’Amour being her favorite author with many creases in the spines of her books. She loved gardening and could grow anything. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Farkle and Dominos, watching crime dramas on television and thrift shopping at yard sales and Goodwill. She was a math wiz and could remember phone numbers better than anyone we know.
When asked what her favorite memories are, she said “hearing and watching my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Hearing them say they love me and all of the hugs and kissed I get from them.” When parting, she always told her family “You’re a part of my heart.” You are a part of our hearts too Nanney, always and forever.

Obituary Preview: Brenda Kay Busch was born in Tulsa on June 12, 1956, to Walter and Betty Busch. She enjoyed growing up in the small town of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and decided to stay in the area to raise her beloved daughter Lindsey (Zeiter) DuPree. Brenda worked as a secretary in Tulsa most of her life and was fond of cooking, and crafting, but mostly enjoyed activities centered around her grandson, Grayson, like attending his soccer games.

She will be missed by many for her contagious laughter, giving nature, and unconditional love for her family and friends.

Delmar Lee Hooper, Sr - January 25, 1931 - November 27, 2023

Departed: 11/27/2023 (Sand Springs)
Obituary Preview: Delmar Lee Hooper, Sr a man known for his enduring spirit and remarkable resilience, passed away on November 27, 2023. Born on January 25, 1931, Delmar was a shining light in the lives of those who knew him, a testament to tenacity and strength. He was a man of many roles – a Korean War veteran, a builder, a business owner, and most importantly, a loving father, grandfather and friend.
Delmar's life was an embodiment of service. He was drafted into the Army in 1951 and was sent to the Korean War. His military training was in the Artillery but upon arriving in Korea his Artillery Unit was switched to the Infantry Unit by General Douglas MacArthur. Out of 312 men, only 4 survived. In the words of Delmar, "It's a wonder I'm even here." All 4 men were eventually sent back to their original Artillery Unit.
Delmar went on to work for the US Army Corp of Engineers in the early 60's in the drilling unit at various locations such as Broken Bow, Sallisaw and Ashdown, Arkansas. After a few years he transferred to Keystone Lake where he worked until his retirement in 1987. Delmar went on to start his own business, Hooper's Mini Dump Truck and Tractor Service. Even with all of Delmar's accomplishments in life, his pride and joy was his family. He loved his children and grandchildren but when his great grandchildren came along they had him wrapped around their fingers. He had a special bond with each one but especially the youngest, Ely. Ely was a premature baby and as soon as he came home from the hospital he was in Delmar's lap. They were 2 peas in a pod!
Delmar is survived by his son, Delmar Jr., and Cindy Hooper; grandchildren, Christopher Hooper, Joseph Hooper, Daniel Hooper and Justin Jones; great grandchildren, Tristan, Birgitte and Elias Hooper as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Oletta Hooper; his wife of 66 years, Sadie; daughter, Debra Hooper; brother, Carl Hooper; and sister, Doris Hooper. Delmar's legacy is not just his family, but the life he led with honor, compassion, and resilience.
As we remember Delmar, we invite you to share your memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will allow us to continue celebrating the life of a man whose spirit was as sturdy as the structures he built, and whose love for his family was as enduring as his service to his country. Let's keep Delmar's memory alive, not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the years he walked among us, impacting our lives with his strength, resilience, and love.
Services for Delmar will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 2:00 at Legacy Chapel, Dillon Funeral Service, Sand Springs, OK.

His infectious humor, coupled with a creative mind that never rested, made him an unforgettable presence in every room. Chris was not just the life of the party; he was the party. His humor, creativity, and zest for life made an indelible imprint on the hearts of those he loved. As Mark Twain once said, "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter."
Chris was a proud graduate of Charles Page High School and found his professional calling in the petroleum industry as an Applications Engineer Supervisor. But it was outside the office where Chris truly shone. As a stand-up comedian, he had a unique knack for finding the humor in the everyday.
